It’s been quite a while since I have watch Family Karma let alone done a recap. The comment sections are becoming redundant. There are a lot of “I like learning about other cultures” type of comments. But, back in the day we would have conversations about the episode. I miss those. Perhaps it will happen after this Family Karma recap. That said, I’m already puking AGAIN. No connection to the show, it’s just something that happens to me. :/.

And we are off to the gay bachelor party. This is new for everyone. Brian and his older woman, Avri?, both admit they don’t see a future together. But, they don’t seem to be planning to change their relationship. It seems like everyone is on the verge of breaking up, but no one is willing to pull the plug. Richa and Vishal go to dinner with their moms. Ut Oh. Oh it looks like the bride and groom are NOT there. Vishal tells his mom later that he and Richa are not legally married and she is refusing to do the legal ceremony because of his drinking. Then, they make plans for the couple and their moms (who last I knew hated each other) to have dinner at Vishal’s mom’s, Reshma’s house.

Lopa and Reshma are less than excited about the dinner. Lopa discovers that Richa and Vishal are not legally married. That is because Richa is concerned about Vishal’s drinking. Everyone agrees to work as one family to support Vishal. Meanwhile, Monica and boyfriend, Rish are fighting over rumors that are keeping Monica? from moving in with Rish.

I love this show and the fact that the cast is connected by family and friends in real life. Best show on Bravo for sure.
I think Richa is good for Vischal. I have no idea what Rishi’s deal is, just admit it or invite the rumour starter over to reasonably talk it over. Oh yah, this is reality tv and this would never happen! Lol

I’m surprised that Richa is threatening not to have the marriage legalized now, after that huge and expensive Indian wedding. She was aware of how much Vishal was drinking before the wedding. I felt bad for him attending events and being told by his new wife not to drink. She pointed out her health concerns but I just don’t like the way she is going about this, it’s not new behavior he started immediately after the wedding.
I thought the same thing, she is “We’re (not) married now change” – not cool. But having Crohn’s disease and drinking alot is very very bad, life threatening even, so I see where she is coming from.
Richa has a terrible attitude and approach. Does a spouse really move from, “Let’s party!” To threats of “You better not drink or I’m divorcing you.” (They are married in god’s eyes.) What happened to let’s work on not binge drinking first. Damn, she’s harsh and I don’t like how Vishal looks frightened of his own damn wife.
I don’t see Brian and the older lady working out either. He’s not ready to settle down and be a dad and that’s where she’s at. I’m sad that Lopa & Reshma have reverted back to not getting along, but at least they were able to sit and have dinner together. Lopa was blindsided at the dinner about Richa & Vishal not being legally married. I’m starting to not like Reshma and her passive agressiveness with Brian’s mom because Brian’s mom tried to help mediate her relationship with Lopa. Just tell her how you feel and move on. That’s no reason to fall out with a friend. She was trying to help. I agree with Monica that the rumors need to be addressed with Rish’s family and his brother’s girlfriend and not swept under the rug. Monica thinks it stems from jealousy about her & Rish’s relationship, but I wonder if there’s more to it? This could cause huge problems in their relationship. It looks like Anisha is back next week for a fashion show. Yay! I love Anisha.
I agree about Monica and Rish: get in front of the brother’s girlfriend and ask her to explain herself. And how Rish’s family was gaslighting Monica at that dinner, like they were just going to sweep it under the rug. Nah ha.

I hope Vishal gets help if he needs it. I relate to feeling insecure in crowds and being more comfortable with a few drinks on board.
Not sure about Monica and Rish (sp?). I don’t think he necessarily cheated or did anything, just think she is so LET’S GET MARRIED NOW and he is being pressured. I see both sides – her not wanting to talk to the brother’s girlfriend who started the rumor but she cannot expect his entire family to blackball her and refuse to speak to her or include her things.
Like Brian but he appears to be a little immature for 30 and stuck in the “I am the hot guy in high school” phase of dating – throwing out the cheezy lines, bragging, etc. If he turns out like his parents, he will be a good catch someday.
Not sure how I feel about Auntie Lopa.
Cannot wait for Amrit and Nicholas’ wedding. I hope Nicolas’ parents have a good time and support him/them. I am also in love with their dog and was surprised it was not being consulted/getting his own wedding outfit.
I think Monica’s guy likely cheated on her. His backing out of moving in together & his rationale was odd. However, I could be wrong. Monica has blinders on, so she wouldn’t notice anything.
Brian’s older girl has some crazy eyes. I can’t tell if her mannerisms are because she’s very drunk every time they meet or if she’s just a bit cray-cray

This show was so light and funny the first season. Yes, there was drama but it added to the spice of the show. This season is all this he said, she said, drama, drama, drama and fewer of the light hearted moments. Lots of discussions about the same issues week after week after week. I love the show but I think it’s veering off track this season.
I have always thought Vishal was too good for Richa. I just don’t like how she kinda blind-sided him with the “stop drinking or else” thing. OF COURSE, it would be better for him if he cut back but her acting like a nagging mother instead of a supportive wife is counterproductive at best. That guy is cheating on Monica just as sure as grits are groceries. She seems a bit clingy and delusional and in a LITTLE TOO MUCH of a hurry to drag him down the aisle. IMHO, he’s not the one for her. Still love this show though…..the “aunties and uncles” are EVERYTHING!!!!
I started watching this because you mentioned it TT and I love it – binge watch the first 2 seasons and now this one. The kids are good but the parents, aunties & uncles are even better lol
