I’ve been trying to save Below Deck for when I felt better but I don’t see that on the horizon at the moment so I really want to watch. I’ll be giving some feedback here. It may take me awhile. I’m not even going to try to memorize names so if that annoys you leave this post now.
The first thing is that Captain Lee and I were chatting a few weeks before the season came out. We were talking about needing a getaway to someplace fabulous. And I suggested St. Lucia. It’s one of the fanciest trips I ever went on and very expensive. LOL. I had no idea that was where they filmed this season. We ALMOST never talk about the show.
All of these girls are catty bitches with boys on the brain. Do they even know they are there to work? Oh it looks like I only have two episodes. One was one of those Never Before Seen things. I’ve seen enough of episode one. The second stew is a bitch. Why does Hayley masturbating to photos of herself not surprise me? What exactly is Fraser doing during all of this stew drama?
Who the heck is doing laundry? They shrank Captain Lee’s uniform! Someone needs a plane ticket. Oh, apparently it is someone else’s uniform. Though his seems to be lost. I can’t believe that Captain Lee is attempting to dock that monstrosity in Saint Lucia. I’m not sure that is even possible. If ever there was a time for a tinder to dock unload, this is it. And ultimately, that is what Captain Lee decides. The guests leave a $25K tip.
The first crew night out was kind of boring by Below Deck standards, but Camille is um…quite the promiscuous girl.
It’s shocking to me that Captain Lee was having the same issues with his legs as I am with mine. And months after this taped, he went to Bravocon and was driven around in a cart. This is not encouraging for my progress.
Prepare yourselves, Captain Sandy comes in to take over for him. 🙁
I’m so sorry you’re still having health issues, Tamara. I hope they can figure out what’s going on and get you back up to par again.
I’m feeling so sorry for Captain Lee this season. He looks like he’s in pain. Fraser is a great first stew, but he’s so concerned about not screwing up that he’s not paying attention to how awful his staff is. Rachel messed up a little bit but managed to get herself together to feed the guests some delicious meals.
If this had been a few years ago, I’d be disappointed to see Captain Sandy come on board to fill in for Captain Lee, but she redeemed herself this season of Below Deck Med. I ended up really liking her.
Is it just me or are their accents incredibly hard to understand this season?!
It’s not just you Allen, I have to use the CC feature all the time. I also have trouble keeping the different BD crews appropriate to the right show. I wish they would not show so many at the same time.
Has anyone tried to watch the Housewives of Durban? I cannot understand ANY of those ladies and then they switch back and forth between English and their language. (sorry, don’t know the name of it) and I am trying to watch what they wear and their reactions but cannot because I am trying to read and follow their conversations. I am exhausted by the time the show is over.
Figured out Captain Lee was probably going to not complete the season but did not expect Captain Sandie to take over. I will keep watching…..
This is a HUGE boat in a location that gets a lot of wind and has strong currents. Not sure Sandy is up for the task, but nevertheless that is who is coming.
Oh my gosh! Thank you!! I was shocked and sooo excited about finding out about a RH I haven’t watched! Was highly disappointed with Durban. The women are fabulously decked out – and incredibly gorgeous, driven and successful – but something falls a bit flat for me. Me going to assume the language barrier … however, I’ll still watch. Learn something new each day!
I watch adventure and regular below deck. captain lee really looks like he’s in pain and needs to NOT be on the boat in the middle of the ocean and be closer to medical. You gotta give it to him for even attempting. He is such a man. Which are fewer and fewer these days with these wimpy, manscaped, metro’s. Thank God I’m old and not in my 20’s…. Ok then… that camille girl is such an attention seeker with the twerking. Wasn’t that like 5 years ago or something? It’s over. And it’s just trashy. And the other girl announcing she isn’t wearing underwear. Where are “ladies” these days? Do they exist? Am I a dinosaur? Fraser, who I love, is over his head with these girls. I would love to see Josiah, Fraser and Kate working together. Perfection. TT, I sure hope you figure out what the hell is going on with you. Oh, I started watching Love without Borders which is sort of like 90 Day Fiance. I liked it.
Yes Captain Lee, a bum leg, and 3 flights of stairs? It is definitely a no go. And (unfortunately) as long as there is below deck there will be twerking. I’m with you it is so 2010. TT, wishing you a quick trip to wellness.
I am so sad that Captain Lee is leaving, afraid this may be the last time we see him on BD. I dont dislike Sandy like I used to, but I still would rather Lee was there. I hope he is feeling at least a little better.
I dont think I like the women on this boat. Hayley scares me a little, and that big red wig is just awful.

I love Rachel. She is my favorite from any season. It will be interesting to see how she and Captain Sandy work together. And yes, that boat is fucking huge! I hope Sandy can steer that thing.
I also like the inexperienced deckhand that was doing yoga or something very early in the morning. The one that was asleep, but they woke him up to “dance” for the primary.
I feel for Rachel, too many stairs involved with running a galley. Rachel is so unique and talented, I am also curious to see how she works with Captain Sandy.
I lived on a sailboat for a few years and every time we had to dock at a marina it felt somewhat nerve wracking, the boat slips are tiny and you don’t want to bump into another boat. Add strong wind to the occasion and it was scary (we weren’t well seasoned sailors). This season’s yacht is gigantic.
I really like Tony the deckhand from Costa Rica. I lived there for 5 years and he reminds me so much of a close neighbor we had there. The people there are very sunny and laid back. They are not known to have a strong work ethic (it drove ex-pats crazy) but Tony seems to be giving it his all. It’s fun to see his personality and spirit.
We are trading Captain Lee for Captain Sandy? Ummm, o.k.
Earlier I watched the latest episode of the SLC housewives, and I can’t believe that Jen Shah filmed this season. Her behavior on this show will bite her in the ass during her sentencing. How did her lawyer or PR people allow it? Why didn’t her husband talk her out if it? And why are all the other ladies afraid of her?
Jen Shah poured a glass of champagne over her friend Angie’s head! They have been friends for 20 years, according to both of them. Everyone was scared to tell Jen she was wrong. In the preview for next week, it looks like Lisa tells Jen she is wrong, while they are sitting on a boat, and Jen pushes Lisa over. Like shoves her to the floor.
Jen is short. How is she pouring drinks on people and shoving people around? She isn’t going to be around for long, so why won’t anyone check her?
She hadn’t pled guilty at this point in filming. For me, It seems like these alliances are all about strategy to stay on the show.
But anyone with half a brain knows if the federal government is bringing so many charges against a person, they are most certainly going to prison. I just don’t understand why the other ladies are tip toeing around Jen.
Ugh, I hate Sandy! I mainly watch because of Captain Lee!

I like Rachel and find her hilarious. Fraser is good but the rest are totally forgettable to me. I, too, can’t wait to see how Rachel and Sandy get along…buckle up!
Captain Lee was SO uncomfortable in that goddamn chair that wouldn’t swivel! I wanted to Amazon him one until I reminded myself we’re not in real time. Couldn’t one of the engineers swivel it for him? I was in pain with him. Not sure what surgery he had but he looks like my L4L5 sciatica surgery I had a few years ago. He’ll be fine. Off the boat.
Rachel turned me off so bad her first season that I’m still on the fence with her. I like her in the cast, of course and love her food. I think she’s why the tip was so unexpectedly large?
Love Captain Sandy but will miss Lee. I thought he looked great on BravoCon WWHL, super fit/tan so good to know he healed up.
Poor, Lee. I hope his nerve pain resolved soon.
