I am kind of surprised that this wedding that is apparently going to get multiple episodes is at the beginning of the season and not the end. But, I’m not mad about it. I’m going to do my best to get two recaps back to back done tonight. I’m having a bad brain day. So, we shall see. But, let’s get started with the Family Karma recap and pick back up with the wedding festivities. It should be a breath of fresh air after another disappointing episode of RHOP.
Wedding Or Frat Party?
Vishal is irritated that Anisha only decided to come to the wedding two days before it started. Dude, SHE WAS MOVING FROM FLORIDA TO ARIZONA. Do you have any idea what PITA that is? But, she came and that is all that matters. Again, why is Anisha held to a higher standard than everyone else? Brian is still being a horndog. The parents are the best part of this show. Next everyone puts on white t-shirts and heads to the beach to throw colored Kool-Aid??? up in the air. Vishal is wasted and his parents are not happy. They are too old for this shit and so am I.
The dads get together with Vishal to give him marital advice. And they have a LOT of it. Mostly it is about how to deal with conflicts in the marriage. Vishal is too drunk to take much in. Meanwhile, Vicha gets advice from her mom.
It’s The Wedding Day, FINALLY!
They are getting married at 9:30 am! Apparently, that is the most “auspicious” time when the stars are aligned. But, everyone is really hungover. Richa’s dress is beautiful! It’s red! Her mom gives her the nose ring she wore in her wedding. It’s huge! Vishal has a hand-tied pink turban. Not sure why it is pink. everything else is gold and white. But, he looks great. The bridal party and the groom’s part take separate boats to the site of the ceremony. I’m hoping no one falls out of the boat! They are all standing up and dancing in the boats!!!
It’s really hot and they all have so many clothes on. On the other hand it is January. How hot can it be? Richa’s mother walked her down the aisle. Apparently, he dad is on dialysis. 🙁 The wedding is so interesting I keep watching it without recapping all the details. Also, the wedding is three hours long. Someone began handing out popcorn to the guests. It was basically an outline of each part of the wedding with popcorn inside. At ten am? The guests do not share my intrigue with the process and are distracted by butterflies and hot surfers. LOL.
The Guests Are Restless (And Kind of Rude)
Did you ever go to church as a kid and the pastor was giving the sermon and you thought it would never end? It’s like that but they are all talking at full volume about when these two will finally be married. FINALLY, they are married! YAY! The reception is like Circ Du Soleil on steroids. Brian wastes no time in hitting on Richa best friend, who is 35. But, first the bride and groom and their attendants the parents of the bride and groom all do ANOTHER DANCE onstage! They dance A LOT. I’m just saying. Then, it is time for the bride and groom’s first dance.
Next, the speeches happen. Of course, Lopa has something to say. She makes Richa sad because she talks about the tradition of the parents of the bride and groom standing behind them after the wedding. She was sad about it at the time as well. It feels like giving away your child. Lopa cries. And so do a lot of others. When it is time for Vishal and Richa to speak. Vishal flubs his speech badly. And he talked way too long. I hate Monica’s boyfriend. She needs to be with Brian. Her current boyfriend doesn’t want to get married ever. And he’s kind of a dick. Then everybody dances. I’m tired just watching all the dancing.
Vishal is so drunk that he passes out. There was a lot of foreshadowing about his drinking. He wakes up the next day, in a bed with Amrit not knowing how he got there. Oh, Vishal! Who even knows what happens next?
