I just sort of realized that CBS does two seasons of Survivor a year. My cable company is calling this season 44 it season 43. This is something only I would care about. So let’s just get straight to tonight’s Survivor recap.
Wow these people all look super interesting! I love Morriah already. They all seem really great! Ellie may be problematic. The eighteen players have already been divided into groups of six and arrive in three boats. Noelle is a paralympic athlete with one prosthetic leg. I love this show so much! It’s time for the first reward challenge. Two team members from each tribe have to run into the jungle and retrieve some very heavy crates by pulling the barge they are in to shore. The other four team members have to swim out and retrieve crates and bring them back. Once all the crates are there they have to build them to form a cube. Then, someone climbs up the crates and uses a cane to retrieve a flint.
Vesi Wins The First Challenge
The team that gets their flint first gets a pot, a machete and a flint. NO FOOD. The two losing teams have to complete another challenge to get a pot and a machete. The orange team (VESI) wins. They have no idea how to build a shelter, let alone use a machete. Noelle and and Justine are already teaming up. Nneka is teaming up with the guys. Cody who is a sales rep for an elevator company leaves the whole sales rep off his Survivor resume. He does tell everyone to be wary of Justine because she is a salesperson. Wow.
Jesse crew up in LA where he was brought into a gang at an early age. His family had a lot of addiction issues. He got to take a GED in juvenile hall. He scored very high. So high in fact that he was accepted to Berkley and went on to get a PhD. from Duke. WOW. That is super impressive. The guy on the far right, Cody, has a tattoo on his butt that says LIVIN. So for some reason they made that the title. Justine can’t get the fire started. But their shelter is coming along nicely. Until, it all comes tumbling down. Then a boat shows up at all three camps.
The second guy from the left leaves on the boat for an adventure. I think they said his name was Dwight? Meanwhile, Justine finally gets fire for this tribe. I believe they were the last to get it.
Yellow Team Baca
When this tribe gets to their shore, we get an interview with Gabler (far right) who realizes he is a decade or three older than everyone else. So he has to be very careful when it comes to trying to take control. I’m rooting for you Gabler! This is my favorite tribe so far, but it’s early. But first, they have a choice between two challenges. One is savvy, it’s a brain teaser but they only get one guess. The other challenge is for two people and it is very physical. They have to dig up their pot and machete at two different holes. Both challenges have a four hour time limit. If they chose to dig, the two players are separate and not allowed to talk to the rest of the tribe. WOW.
There are literally only two people to do the digging. One of the guys volunteers but Owen doesn’t want to do it and be separated from the tribe. Because, that is a huge disadvantage. Owen convinces the team to do the mental challenge. It’s really hard. But this team is really smart. And they solved the challenge quickly. I would still be out there trying to solve that. The 19 year old solved the puzzle. He tells the tribe he is 22. Baka is making progress with their shelter. Elie had a sister who died in 2020. That’s so sad. This group is off to a good start with their shelter. But the strategy is already starting. The three girls are already allies. Owen (second from left) is getting tired of building the shelter and wants to start socializing. He tells Gabler he will let him know if people start saying his name. I do not believe him. Then he says that to one of the girls. I knew it.
Sami, third from right is a pet cremator. NO MAM! So he feels like the firestarter. Gabler is a “heart valve specialist. He’s 51. Elie and Gabler bond over their love for heavy metal. She’s really reaching to be a metalhead. That was more her sister.
Gabler goes on the boat for an adventure. When he returns, he tells the whole truth about the trip. GABLER WON THE ADVANTAGE! I am rooting for him! He has immunity from the next two challenges.
Blue Team Coco
The blue team has the same decision as the yellow one. They have three really strong looking guys. I think the should dig. James (third from left) does not want to dig the guy in the light blue shirt volunteers. So it is all down to floral shirt guy. I didn’t want to say it but this doesn’t look like a team of rocket scientists. But, Geo, the floral shirt guy, said it for me. So Geo and Ryan will be digging for four hours. They found the pot and machete in thirty minutes using Ryan’s plan to make an X in the area.
Cassidy, (far left) reaches out the woman on the far right to make a friend/ally. Lindsay the other female at Coco wants the three girls to work together. Lindsay immediately lies to them and tries to pull James into their alliance. So Geo and Ryan are probably in danger. And foreshadowing seems like this team maybe going to tribal. Damn, James is a chess champion. Geo and Karla (far right) are both gay and both married. They are both LatinX. Both have lost some family over being gay. 🙁 Karla has been asked into two different alliances. Of course when you are asked to join an alliance on these type of shows, you always have to say yes. So she feels in the middle.
Carla is chosen to get on the boat….for an adventure.
One Person On Each Tribe Is Taken To and Island
So it is Carla from blue, Gabler from yellow, And Dwight from Orange. I am pissed. I went to Twitter looking for photos of this and got spoiled. DAMMIT! Also I didn’t believe it was really two hours so I have another hour of this and an hour of TAR to recap and it is already 11:30 pm and I have been doing setups and recapping all damn day. I mean, I’m glad it is two hours but my eyes are getting blurry. Sorry back to the show. We get a package from Carla. She is the first person in her family to graduate from High School. And the first to graduate from college. And now she is traveling the world! You go girl!
The trip is the risk or no risk game. Take a risk for an advantage and if you don’t get the advantage you lose your vote at tribal. Choose no risk and your vote is safe. Carla chose not to risk her vote. The guys did risk their votes. They won’t know until they get back to camp if they won the advantage. What is to stop them from peeking on the boat ride back? Dwight tells the truth about the advantage but Cody doesn’t believe him. Dwight lost his vote at the next tribal council.
The Elimination Challenge
I’m in a foul mood. I’ve had to stop and police the Kathryn Dennis comments all night because of fucktard little cunts that fail to believe when a woman is beaten. READ THAT SENTENCE AGAIN My blood is boiling. But, I’ll try to focus on this two hour recap. The elimination challenge is an obstacle course. I’m not going to go into more detail. The losing team goes to tribal and loses their flint. Ouch on the flint. It’s a very muddy course. Team Blue Coco takes an early lead. Janine is a beast for yellow team. But, they are in last. Moriah does a great job on the balance beam getting her team across. You go girl!
Then everyone has to play a mental game. Blue Team, Coco wins. Vesi Orange team gets second. That means my favorite team Baca, yellow team loses and goes to tribal. They lose their flint and will head to tribal council. Gabler, who has immunity wants to play his shot in the dark. He seems to feel responsible for the loss. I thought everyone played well and there is no reason to send anyone home. He is not going to play his immunity. Oh Gabler, you are too noble for this cut throat game. Please don’t go home with basically two immunity idols! Every says no matter what happens they are not voting Gabler out. So he agrees not to play his shot in the dark.
The First Elimination Challenge
The tribe seems to want to get rid of Owen. But, the girls want to keep the tribe strong. So, they are thinking of voting out Moriah. Jeanine is not sure that is a good idea. The girls versus boys thing is making them lean toward Owen. At least this tribe gets fire at tribal after losing their flint. Gabler’s beard is a lot longer than it started out. How long have they really been there? The two guys at the final part of the challenge don’t seem to be at issue at all.
THEY VOTED OUT MORIAH! I AM DEVASTED! I LOVED HER FROM THE MOMENT I SAW HER. ALSO I WAS SPOILED ON TWITTER LOOKING FOR EXTRA PHOTOS AND THEY ARE ALL OUTRAGED TOO! WOW. THAT was an exhausting two hour recap with a very sad ending.
