I kind of decided not to do another 60 Days In Recap after the first one because this season is really, scary and unsetting. But, I’ve had a difficult day with all my health appointments. Had one today and tomorrow I have to get a CT Scan and I’m nervous and I need something to distract me. So this will be more of a discussion there thread than an actual recap.
Henry County is the worst jail they have filmed by FAR. And also the fly guy running the jail, who I thought was so great, doesn’t seem that great anymore. Okay, I’m going into the madness.
The First Group Enters Gen Pop
I can’t even watch the poor woman with multiple seizures and no help from anyone except one of the participants. I don’t know why I am watching this. It’s not helping my anxiety at all. None of the women are getting the medical attention they need. One lady can’t breathe and another who was trying to help her faints or something. This is just awful. Or maybe it is the same one. But the next one to fall out is definitely and new one. So that is two or there women who are unable to maintain consciousness. Still now help coming.
Okay, NOW I AM FURIOUS. The “medical people” HAVE ZERO CLUE HOW TO HANDLE A SEIZURE PATIENT. There are three musts. First do not hold the patient down! Second, PROTECT HER HEAD. THERE IS A MAT RIGHT THERE YOU COULD PUT BETWEEN HER HEAD AND THE CONCRETE. Third keep her on her side. They at least go that part right. This is horrific. Maybe these are inmates helping her because medical still has not arrived? Yes that is what is happening. The nurses have not even arrived yet. Also why are two inmates having seizures minutes apart? Makes me wonder if it is due to something in the jail.
Things Are Not Much Better On The Men’s Side
The air conditioning has died. They have nothing nutritious to eat. This is inhumane treatment and somebody or lots of somebodies need to be arrested and thrown in the same damn jail. Bullrider is the Pod Boss. And he seems well-liked and nice. I wonder why he is in there? Carlos arrives in Gen Pop and has a pal from quarantine named T.O. Carlos knows how to make burritos in jail and sharing them with everyone. He’s popular now. He’s the jail gourmet. I lied things are a LOT better in the men’s jail. Sadly, there is a 17 year old boy in there for stealing something from WalMart. His bond was $150 and he had no one to pay it. He’s gotten commissary money only twice since he has been there.
He’s done two months so far. He has no father figure. His has Darius crying in his interview because that was his life. Darius asks around if anyone can contribute to his bond and get him out. This cell seems to be full of really nice guys who made some really poor choices. The kid celebrates his 18 birthday in jail. The guys feed him and make him a prison cake. The guys have the money to bond him out, but his mother refuses to bond him out. What a cold-hearted bitch. They inmates give him some advice. Chase gives the distress signal after talking to his wife and baby on Zoom. Production tries to talk him down.
Meanwhile, Back In The Women’s Jail…
Rose and two regular inmates are getting moved to Gen Pop. She may be the last female left in the program. She is welcomed quicky joins in for a game of spades. The Sheriff is so out of touch with what is going on in his jail.
Next week, the men’s jail is flooded with feces and sewage. Rose has had her fill of one inmate and strips off her underwear and threats to beat the shit out of her. One of the young kids gets a shank and is threatening to come after someone. I don’t think the has the guts. But, Rose my kill that white girl.
