So I have been sitting on this for months but now that the trailer is out for the new season of Below Deck, I guess it is time to spill a little bit. As many of you know, Captain Lee and I have been friends for almost as long as I have had this site. I was going to put this up last week but I just wasn’t up to it. I just tried to lay back down again but had to get right back up. So, I’m going to give you the short version.
Months ago, when Below Deck was supposed to start filming, I started hearing about Captain Lee’s health problems and how he would be late to filming. So, I went straight to the source and he said it was in fact true that Captain Sandy would be filling in for him for a charter or two.
In the following months, Captain Lee and I have maintained contact. He’s always in good spirits and we don’t talk too much about the details of his health, and those are not mine to share. The good news is he is getting better all the time! So no need to worry. He has love an support and somehow manages to continue checking on his charities and being kind to others. He’s very much looking forward to being back on ship!
Sorry, this is why I should not be trying to post while throwing up. For some reason I was sure that Below Deck was next to air. It Is not. Despite the big words saying BELOW DECK MEDITERRANEAN it didn’t register.
Regarding Below Deck Med, the new season looks like a hot mess. But, I mean that in the best possible way! We’ve got Sandy running into things, sex orgies with all new people, Sandy lost in Malta, etc.
When I was a kid we went to Malta a lot. It’s the closest place where the doctors and dentists most all spoke English. I of course did not care about that at all. For me it was the place that had real candy (sometimes even American candy) and where I could buy Donny Osmond posters American music. 🙂 I was a bit wise beyond my years because I was six, and my BFF was an 11 year old Canadian girl who loved Donny Osmond and I wanted to be just like her. The only thing I remember my mother telling me was that the locals hated the tourists. That may or may not have been true. My mother was one of those people who thinks everyone speaks English. She could be very, um, abrupt. lol.

The new trailer was for Below Deck Med, which was always with Sandy as captain. They haven’t released a trailer for the original Below Deck yet. Presumably that will give info on Lee.
Thanks Laureen. This is why I should not be trying to post while puking. I went back and fixed it I think. The good news is she really won’t be on Below Deck for long.
I will just read the recaps for those episodes. I love Capt Lee and pray for his healing both unselfishly and selfishly. I love Capt Glen, but Capt Lee will always have my heart. He, to me, is Below Deck. I cannot stand Sandy though, not even briefly. She’s a camera-hogging micromanager who grates on my nerves.

I hope, hope, hope Capt.Lee is better soon, soon, soon. I cannot tolerate the thought of Sandy on Below Deck. She’s the reason I quit watching BD Med. Too bad she didn’t stay lost in Malta.

In my opinion, “Captain” Sandy is the worst captain of all 4 Below Decks and it isn’t even close
Not talking about how she drives the boat, it’s her personal skills that are terrible.

Ohhh, I will miss Captain Lee! He is a breath of fresh air among all the smog. As long as he is happy and healthy that is all that matters. Sending good thoughts and lots of love his way!

Yes she does. Does she look like the loyal type to you ? Unsure ? Ask Hannah who got fired & humiliated by Yawn for absolutley no good reason. Yawn is a boil on Bravo’s already pus filled cast.
Have you seen this season? She’s like a brand new person! Likeable even!
I don’t think they were together together but they definitely seemed to have sort of show pact . They were like captain Lee and Kate until Kate just couldn’t do it anymore. But malia seemed like she was in it for the long haul.
So is this post saying that Sandy will pinch hit for Lee at some point in the future when Lee’s show returns? Or was it all a misunderstanding about BDMed?
Sorry, I’ve got the crud, and should not have posted until I was feeling better. Sandy will be the captain on Below Deck for a few episodes as Captain Lee needed a bit more time for his recovery.
Also, I mistakenly thought that Below Deck was up next. First, we must suffer through and entire season of Sandy wandering aimlessly through Malta.

Will miss the stud of the sea. So strong yet tender hearted ( being a mentor to Carl Radke from Summer House during his newfound sobriety ) & so damn funny too ! Not watching any part of this upcoming season Captain Sandy is not my cup of tea. I do like Mzi he is a great guy ! Capt Lee if you are reading this a swift recovery is certainly coming your way & hope you remain with this francise forever . You are a gentleman & scholar & we love watching you !

I’m actually intrigued by the new season to see pretty much all new faces and Mzi is back, yay! No Malia, I’m good with this. I didn’t mind Sandy last season too much and to see she scratched the boat is great, lol!! Maybe BDM can actually break my Bravo hiatus.
Wow. I didn’t remember that you were in touch with Capt. Lee, what he is doing for addicts is so inspirational and extremely humbling. He is such a good man, I am glad you are in touch with him, you both have huge hearts. Thanks for the update-

Oh poor Captain Lee. He has sure had his share of struggles these last few years. Sending him and his family lots of positive energy and love. He is a good man. I hope that his recover is total and soon.
I did see the trailer for Med or I should say a commercial for them. So I don’t really know what is up. I REALLY enjoyed Captain Glen and the boys this time on Sailing. I hope they put Down under on, I think people would get a kick out of it. It is fun to see the differences/alikes on the different boats. How each of the Captains handle the crew as well as the chief stews and bosuns. Daisy has been one of my faves I have to say. I hope she sticks around. She and Gary are kind of funny together.
So prayers for the #1 Captain and for you. Hope you both start feeling better soon.

I personally enjoy all of the Kathryn shows and captains. Some drama really unheeded. But that’s ok. Don’t like the fact it’s on peacock and bravo but you have to pG for med.

My father was from Malta, Gozo specifically. I’ve visited there many. times. I don’t think you can beat the Med sea. My dad learned English in school due to Malta being under the English government. Only the old timers couldn’t speak English.
I don’t watch this show much but will now due to Malta connection.

“I’m madder than a pissed on chicken,” that Below Deck isn’t coming on first. Love Captain Lee and praying for his recovery so he might be back on board soon. The Med looks like a real s**t show this year. Sandy tries so hard to micromanage but clearly it is out of her hands. Down Under & Captain Jason was great. Hopefully there will be a reunion of sorts on WWHL. Like Aisha even with her voice that is somewhat whiny at times. Hope BD can keep it moving with Captain Lee in the wheelhouse…He is a fan fave for sure!!!
