Sorry for last week’s lackluster RHOA recap. I was under the weather but feeling a bit better now. Speaking of last week’s episode, the ratings were horrible for RHOA. I got a bit numbers heavy trying to put things in perspective. So, I moved it to the end of the recap. Be sure to check it out.
Tonight, Kenya books a fabulous tea party to celebrate Brooklyn’s third birthday. It already seems to be all about the housewives. Apparently, the tea will be spilled. Kenya talks to the party planner about all of the details of her divorce when she tells her the bill will be between $10K- $15k. She has full physical custody of Brooklyn and he can visit whenever he wants as long as he comes to Atlanta. Everything is resolved except for spousal support for Marc. He has always said he doesn’t want spousal support. So Kenya is wondering what he hold up is all about.
Sheree Is Rocked By Rumors (aka facts)
Marlo and Sheree show up at a gym to workout with a trainer who can’t wait to get away from them. Neither of them work out for more than five minutes. I don’t think Marlo even got in a minute. Then, the bone carrier gets to work and tells Marlo what everyone said about her disaster of an event. Marlo is pissed that no one was impressed. We find out rather abruptly, that Kairo works at the Tyler Perry studios in the wardrobe department. Marlo seeks advice on raising boys alone. She seems like she is not sure if she is doing things right. Marlo and one of the boys are taking acting lessons. She tells us in a talking head to check her, IMDb. But, she can’t even get the letters in the right order.
Sheree freaks out about rumors being spread about her not paying her bills. She hasn’t paid her bills in years and I’ve been covering this since at least 2012. I’ve had wives of contractors reach out to the site about it. Also, I’ve had the cashier where she bought her kitchen cabinets reach out to me. I’ve had a Bravo source tell me she is paid through pay out account to avoid the IRS. I have ALL THE TEA from back in the day. And it was all over TMZ! Yet, somehow Sheree is pissed at Kandi. It’s not Kandi talking, it’s people who worked for her and didn’t get paid.
Trouble In Paradise?
Kandi continues to work her ass off. Not only is she directing a Broadway play. She also has yet another spin-off coming after Kandi and Gang. I don’t know if The Chi is still a show but I used to watch her on that. She wants to be an EGOT winner. Todd is unhappy that she is doing so much and he and the kids don’t get enough time with her. There are rumors that Ralph is not the only husband on this show getting around. I thought Todd and Kandi were swingers. But, apparently, Kandi can only swing with women. He doesn’t even want her to film a love scene with a man. Todd also feels like Kandi gets the credit for anything he produces. So he wants to his current project on his own. Kandi feels like she should still have an executive produce title. I disagree. Let the man have some success on his own!
Next, we see Drew at a cute little kids toy story where she is shopping for Brooklyn’s birthday. Kenya and Drew SEEM like they have made up. But, you never know with Kenya. Then, Drew and her male friend who apparently used to work for Sheree talk about her lack of payment issues. Sheree also didn’t pay the vendors for her She By Sheree. Then, Drew gets frantic call from Sanya who was just in a serious accident with an eighteen-wheeler. The truck plow into her and drug her car, with her in it down the street. She paid $204 on Brooklyn gifts and took off to pick Sanya up because her husband is out of town. What about the other eight people in the house?
It’s Time to Spill The Tea
But no one has arrived to the party yet. The event is way over the top. There are beautiful flowers and china. Sheree is the first to arrive and and Kenya tells her not to bring up her drama about being a deadbeat. But, we know why that is why we are here. It’s the main event. It’s just a matter of who jumps into the ring first. Then, we finally meet the new “friend of” Monyetta and her two kids. Drew and her cute little daughter arrive. Drew is wearing a similar dress to the one Kenya wore for Brooklyn’s Barbie party. Kenya snarks to production,”Is she stalking my Instagram to get fashion tips now”? I knew Kenya wasn’t sincere about being nice to Drew. Also, I wish Drew would pick a wig and stick with it. I never recognize her.
We discover that after the romantic dinner from hell, Drew and Ralph are sleeping in separate rooms. Whose dumb idea was it to have a shady tea game at a kids birthday party. This will be worse that two truths and a lie! I blame production. But wait, the women all have to play another game first. Kenya asks questions about Brooklyn like what is her middle name. I used to know but I don’t. Marlo gets caught trying to google. Only Marlo knows any of the crazy questions. So…. we move on.
It’s time to box. Everyone writes down some tea they know on someone else and puts it in the box. Kandi picks a card that says, “Kandi sucked dick in a locker room.” And here we go. Kandi adamantly denies it. No one admits to it. Kenya’s denial sounds like bullshit to me. Does she have beef with Kandi? Someone else wrote that they tried to order from Marlo’s gown rental website and there was no content. Suddenly, Marlo and Kenya are going at each other over Marlo claiming when she first started the show, Kenya was renting a used Land Rover from Lisa Rae (from season one). Kenya says she doesn’t even know her and that Marlos drives a used Rolls Royce. Good grief this is petty.
Next we move on to the tea this game was set up for. “Someone doesn’t pay their assistant.” I should point out that most of the ladies are drunk and their voices are loud. There are kids sitting around listening to this. Denise Richard would be horrified. I am too. Drew admits it was her and that she tried to talk to her about it privately at Marlo’s event but Sheree blew her off. Sheree screams at Drew to shut the fuckup when there is a small child right behind her listening and looking for popcorn for this shit show. Then, Fatum, whoever that is says isn’t this the same guy who Drew hired who told her that her husband is Gay? Oh Lord, here we go…
Make It Stop!
One lady grabs her kid to flee. Marlo mutters, “Don’t invite your white friends here, they don’t get it.” There is actually a white lady with a little girl on her lap sitting right next to Marlo. Jesus take the wheel! The Sheree starts calling Drew a ditzy bitch and Drew calls Sheree a bit and they go back and forth like that for a bit with a child literally sitting at the table. Kenya stops the screaming and everyone sings happy birthday to Brooklyn.
Next week: Kandi has invited everyone to NYC including the husbands. But her invitations arrive with BDSM related gifs. WTF? The drama between Kandi and Todd escalates in NYC in front of everyone. Drew and Ralph go to a contentious therapy session. Marlo spreads what the streets are saying about Todd looking for attention elsewhere.
Let’s start with some comparisons. RHOBH’s premiere had 1.151 million LIVE viewers (0.33 18-49 demo). That’s great. Especially if they can keep it up. On the other end of the Spectrum, RHOM S04E06 had 0.240 million live viewers (0.06 18-49 demo). That is worse than WWHL! The last RHONJ Reunion had 1.132 million live viewers (0.33 18-49 demo). Summer House hit a season high of for the reunion show with 0.683 million viewers (0.26 18-49 demo). Below Deck Sailing Yacht had 1.014 million live viewers (0.30 18-49 demo). on the last episode. Top Chef had S03E11 – 1.014 million viewers (0.30 18-49 demo). BDSY 1.076 million viewers (0.34 18-49 demo).
Still with me? Just one more show to compare. Porsha’s Family Matters episode 2 compared to RHOA’s Season 14 episode 2. PFM had a rating of 777,000 live viewers in the demo. 0.22). RHOA has 736,000 live followers and .23 in the demo. TLDR? RHOA Ratings are in the toilet.
