If missed Part 1 of this MAFS Australia Recap, CLICK HERE! I’m going to try to catch up on three long episodes, so I will only be hitting the highlights. Most of y’all don’t have much to say, but that is probably because I am so far behind. I can’t wait to get caught up! It’s still “confessions week” and apparently things are about to get crazy. Uh…crazier.
Olivia & Jackson
Jackson has had an emotional week when recalling his mother being a victim of violence. He’s very protective of his mom and sisters. This week’s confession task has them ranking five core values from most to least important. Occupation, Money, Looks, Wants Children and Good Sex. Apparently it is harder than it sounds. These two matched on all five. The both had Good Sex as number one. And want kids at number two. They seem quite compatible!

Selin & Anthony
These two can’t even stand each other enough to share an apartment so they are living separately. The two are doing the photo line-up assignment from the last episode. That didn’t go over so well for some. The husbands have to rank the elevently brides in order of their looks. The wives rank the grooms accordingly. She put Anthony in the middle. She was basically, ranking according to who is gentlemanly and kind. He’s not happy. They argue because they are not living together. She points out he is the one who that packed his bags and left. He stormed out of the apartment without completing the task. So, that is twice he has runaway. But she is a total bitch to him.

Domenica & Jack
Domenica is unhappy their intimacy has dried up. She tried the night before and he didn’t pick up on them. Then we learn she was on her period and he has never had sex with anyone during that time. BTW, in the Photo lineup Jack is often in the top three most attractive. IDGI. I mean he’s cute enough, but I am more of darker hair and not so pale type. Jack invites Al and Jackson over to his apartment to give him some advice. About sleeping with someone on their period. Really, On International TV? Jackson basically tells him to talk to Domenica about it. They had sex again that night. The experts asked about that in a clip we didn’t see at the commitment ceremony.

It seems that Domenica wants Jack to be more forceful, or maybe just lead in the bedroom more. The sex therapist sends them sex toys. Jack is super excited. He does admit that Domenica has a higher sex drive than he does. Jack is acting like a child and giggling a lot. Domenica want him to be more serious. Jack is fidgety and it is annoying her. Clearly, he’s not really comfortable with the topic. Not sure why she can’t cut him some slack. I realize it is annoying but is seems like a self comforting thing to deal with anxiety to me. He tries to talk about his side of the situation. However, she seems to be shaming him and/or requesting sex on demand from her. Can you imagine if the roles were reversed? The lack of intimacy is what caused her marriage to fail. I can see now that the lack of intimacy was her expecting sex on demand.
They talk more the next day. Domenica says she doesn’t feel like he is attracted to her. He says he does but he tells her he find, humor, and fun cheekiness attractive and perhaps because of that, their sex life is suffering. He wants to use the sex toys. Domenica commits to trying things his way. For now. Then they do a sex checklist about their interests.
Ella & Mitch
These two have spent the entire day in bed. Their sex life is great. But their emotional intimacy has a way to go. Their confession task is tailored just for them. They each need to write down personal questions they want to know about their spouse “but were too afraid to ask.” Mitch is adorable. He is Googling questions to ask. His questions were not personal at all. Ella is unhappy about that.

Selina & Cody
I think Cody is the guy who said he was not attracted to his wife. She’s beautiful! So things are not going well with these two. Oh no. They have the photo ranking task. Production is so mean. This will not go well. Selina puts Cody at number one. He puts her second after I think, Tamara. Selina is really hurt. Later they have to write questions to ask he other. He asks if she could see herself living in Sydney. She says yes.

Selina wants to straight up ask him if the reason he doesn’t find her attractive is because she is Asian. She grew up being bullied and called ugly in school because she is Asian. Kids are assholes. Cody stutters trying to think up a lie. But then he says it is part of it but he is not racist. He has just never been exposed to Asian women or dated someone who is Asian. That was the second dagger to her heart in this episode! Then, he assures her that he is attracted to her. She is so out of his league. Oh the commitment ceremony is the next episode. I’m so excited. Selina goes out to get some air or to visit one of the girls. Cody feels terrible and is crying in their apartment.
Holly & Andrew
Andrew and Holly are also not living together. Also, Andrew is missing his daughter’s third birthday. He’s really homesick. Holly is trying to be supportive. Even though Andrew has treated her horribly. He even told her she sucked in bed. After the first commitment ceremony (See recap below) Holly felt that Andrew humiliated her AGAIN. And they are all anyone else is talking about the next morning. Holly tells producers that she is done. Because he wrote leave first and changed to stay at the last minute. Andrew has had some sort of revelation about why his past relationships did not work. It was him. He says he only wrote leave first is because he didn’t want to be rejected. Poor thing.

I just realized that Andrew is 39 and single and has no relationship skills. The intimacy challenge has not yet happened for these two. They have not seen each other since the commitment ceremony. Andrew has sent her an apology text and she is ready to meet with him. She tells him that as of the commitment ceremony, she felt rejected by him. He then has a confession to make. Shouldn’t that have happened last week. He reads his statement from his phone. Basically he has big fear of rejection so he checked out of the relationship. He says he has abandonment issues. It causes him to hide behind sexual partners. It was a very nice speech. Holly hugs him afterwards.
She says she forgives him but still wants to live separately while they work on mending their relationship. He agrees.
The First Commitment Ceremony!
I’m so excited for this episode! It seems clear that Andrew is going to write leave. Selina may be ready to go as well. Celin and Anthony are on the rocks too. Mostly because Selin is awful. First the brides go to one room and the grooms to another to talk. We didn’t see much of that. The first couple is Tamara and Brent. Somehow, Brent likes her. UGH. Of course Tamara has complaints about the relationship. Tamara thinks that Brent’s job as a restaurant manager is beneath him. She will vote to STAY ON TV. They both say stay.

Olivia and Jackson are doing well. They both choose to stay. Next up is Cody and Selina. This should be interesting. Selina and Cody try to explain Asian-Gate. Eventually, the both choose to stay. Next, it is Ella and Mitch. Mitch doesn’t understand that Ella was disappointed in his lame questions. The both say stay. Next is Domenica and Jack. They both choose to stay.

Then Things Begin To Take A Turn
Then, we see Selin & Andrew. Andrew says it’s been a trainwreck. Selin has mocked him for crying and called him a princess. The experts lay in to Selin and bring up the multiple things she has done including airing all the dirty laundry to the other girls at the dinner party. Why are we not getting the full episodes in the US like we used to? The male expert, John, says it was a complete “trashfest on the part of Selin. She showed disrespect and was condescending. Andrew chooses to stay. Selin chose to stay as well but wrote in in teeny tiny letters because SHE is so conflicted. Girl, have several seats.

Samantha and Al are next. I believe they are the young was, but we haven’t seen anything from them on the last episode. Why don’t we get the whole two hours? Samantha thinks Al is immature. They both decide to stay. Now here we go with Holly and Andrew. Do I have my couples mixed up? Isn’t she the one who says she sucks in bed? That he loves sex and has had one night stands who were more into him? Am I confused. Because he starts with saying they haven’t even kissed yet. Holly sets the record straight. The experts come for him about his rude and careless behavior. She still votes to stay. Andrew wrote down leave and then crossed it out and wrote stay! Wow I am shocked. So are the experts. Holly is crying. She wishes she would have written leave.
Brent & Tamara
I just realized that we didn’t get anything from Tamara and Brent on the last regular episode.I don’t understand why he said stay at the commitment ceremony. He’s finally figure out what a horrible person she is from the last recap I did where they showed her audition tape show what a judgemental, materialistic cold, black soul she really is. That should have been enough to write leave. Brent knows that she is upset about “how she is being portrayed.” She goes off on him again. Brent leaves the apartment because she won’t shut the fuck up and give him the space she asked for.

Sam & Al
These two also didn’t air time in the episode before the commitment ceremony. But they are keen on the new week being intimacy week. Sam refused to kiss Al in their bridal photos. He was shocked because he’s a quite attractive boy and has a huge ego about it. That must have been brutal. Their first task is to look into each others eyes for three minutes without looking away. I don’t think I could do that without cracking up. Sam is struggling too. Sam tells Al he has nice eyes. He is happy. He got a kiss or two.

Later the sex therapist comes over to provide some in person advice. Remember, this is Sam’s first relationship and I think he said he has never been in love. The therapist is probably going to tell her to let Al take the lead and stop trying to be the “teacher.” Ben is thrilled to hear that Sam likes physical touch. Wait, that’s it? Or is this another edit for the US? At some later point, Sam is feeling rejected by Al because she kissed him and he didn’t pick up on what she wanted. Give the boy some space! Then, they get a new task to have a five minute makeout session that makes your partner feel desired. She doesn’t want to do that. He does. Why is she so bossy? And yet she wants him to take control?
The emotional age difference between a 25 year old male, and a 28 year old female is HUGE! He gives her a flower and they start making out and doing the task.
Next week, looks dramatic. Hopefully I will get to it more quickly. Thanks for reading and please share your thoughts in comments! xo~ tt
I watch and read all your comments but it is so hard to try and keep these couples straight! I don’t know how you do it! The only couple I have true hopes for are the ones that matched on all 5 of their priorities. They seem like such a match personality-wise.
The young ones…..she is so much more mature than he is and he is such a jerk. I do not think he is that attractive. His mother did everything for him, his wife now has to take the role of either doing it for him or teaching him how to do laundry, etc. No thank you.
Brent and Tamara. She is a piece of work and he seems like a decent guy.
Holly and Andrew (I have to keep flipping up to your pics) He creeps me out and now I know why. He just sleeps with a bunch of women to avoid being rejected and has a warped sense of a relationship.
Cody and Selina. When I first saw her she was so over the top it wore me out. Too bubbly. They don’t seem a match.
Domenica and Jack. He gives me creepy vibes too. She is a very strong woman and seems too much for him.
Selin and Anthony. I like him but her calling him “princess” on the honeymoon? Doesn’t bode well. She wants to whip him into shape to be the man she wants, not accept the man he is.
Whew! This is hard I don’t know how you do it week after week and with so many shows. God bless you!
I’m watching and reading! I think Cody’s answer to the Asian question was just REALLY badly stated. And it would probably sound awkward however he said it but I think he really meant that he had never dated an Asian woman not that he didn’t find her attractive.
I’m waiting for the drama personally. Selin seems to be getting close to driving Anthony away. I feel like they chose to stay to see if there are any upcombing spouces to poach. There are a few couples I worry about doing that, Sam/Al, brent/tamera, holly/Andrew. Oh yes and Andrew’s excuse was a pretty poor one. I don’t see this turning around, but you never know. I just think hes not worth the try, and it’s looking like Holly is feeling the same way.
TT, I’m reading all your posts and comments. Thank you for the recaps!! Not to be repetitive but it’s true there’s too many couples to keep track of and it’s filmed so choppy. But still watching!
Okay this show is so much fun. I started it this morning and watching on and off all day.
So far:
Biggest bitch – Selin
Dick – Andrew
Best looking – Brent
Best couple – Olivia & Jackson
I had so much hope for Selin and Anthony and for Holly and Andrew at both of their weddings. They seemed perfect for each other, but apparently I was way wrong.
The photo ranking thing seems cruel and pointless to me. You’re already married to this person who looks how they look, how is it helpful to anyone to talk about who you are normally attracted to? What possible good can come out of that exercise???
I agree 100%, Kara. A pointless photo ranking that the coaches passed off as an “honesty exercise”.
The ONLY answer to that question in this situation (obviously) is you put your husband/wife #1. No matter what.
Only meant to cause more drama.
Agree with the others here that there are too many couples to keep track of.
But I’m addicted to the show, LOL
I cannot wrap my head around the idea that Andrew is a “motivational speaker” and “life coach”??? Anyone?
Andrew and his nasty growth ear can f off. Won’t spoil it but what he did to Holly was completely inexcusable. What an insecure little shit.
Selin and Tamara are assholes. There is a reason why they are single.
Too many couples to memorize their names!
He is kind of a jerk but his ear is called “cauliflower ear” and it comes from getting hit in the ear usually from wrestling or boxing without headgear.
Makes sense now!
