I miss the days when lots of you actually read my MAFS Boston recaps. I love this show. But, I have to recap in order of what you guys most want to read about. And lately, MAFS isn’t it. It was a bad season. It’s possible that no couples stay together on this final episode Or maybe we will get a reunion show. Yikes, I was all ready to go and couldn’t find the episode on my bulging DVR. I’ve been doing more sleeping and less binge watching. Thankfully, Saturdays are all about binge watching. I also have another 90 Day episode to recap today or tomorrow. I don’t think any of the couples will say yes honestly.
Jasmina & Michael
It looks like we are going to start with these two. The clips they are playing from the season are mostly positive. They still have not had sex! They have not even kissed! So, they are friends not husband and wife. Jasmina says she thought about divorcing Michael twice. Damn! We are getting right to the decisions. Jasmina says she wants to stay married! Michael wants to stay married too! Michael says they need to work on their relationship without the invasive cameras. I’m shocked! But, if they are happy, I am happy! So, YAY! The experts are not sure these two will work. The shrink says Michael always has another hoop for Jasmina to jump through.

Katina & Olajuwon
Once again their package is mostly happy. Except for Olajuwon demands that she not go to school, he wants her home cooking and cleaning like a 1950s housewife. And plenty of women or fine with that, but he was matched with an independent woman who has set goals for her life that don’t match with his plan. This was a terrible match. But they seem happy to see each other after the night of separation before decision day. He says they have a genuine, relationship and it has grown. These two haven’t had sex yet. That seems to be a decision they both made. Katina seems to be ready. Then, Olajuwon says that Katina can’t cook and her food isn’t edible. Oh Olajuwon!

Olajuwon is being such a dick. He is going to say no. I can feel it. She will probably say yes. And that is what he did. He says he wanted someone more experienced in life. Or wait, maybe that is not what he is doing. Now he is saying the he thinks his deceased father sent Katina for him. He says that today is his father’s birthday. He starts crying and they start hugging. If this doesn’t make any sense for you to read, that is because this whole situation is weird. The female experts are crying. Holy crap! He said yes! So that is TWO more couples than I thought that will stay together. Now even Pastor Cal is crying along with Katina and Olajuwon.
Noi & Steve
I hope Steve runs for the hills. Noi is not ready to be a wife. Once again, it’s another happy package of the marriage. There are thousands of women out there that would LOVE to be with him. Steve comes in with beautiful flowers for Noi. No Steve, no! Oh I forgot he bought her an engagement ring! Did he already give it to her? They hug after Noi tells Steve he makes her feel safe. All all of them are crying again. Then they fight because Noi wants Steve to do all the housework. I can’t stand Noi.

Steve says it is A NOI ING when Noi complains about him not working. Pastor Cal tries to explain to Noi that being in between jobs is not a bad thing. Especially for someone like Steve who seems financially secure. I’m sure he has the finances to pay his own bills. And didn’t he buy her a very expensive engagement ring? Steve goes first and even says something about him not feeling judged. Do you not live with her? She is the judgiest person ever. Steve wants to stay married. Now, it’s Noi’s turn. I really hope she says no. She says Steve doesn’t trust her. But, she says yes! Everyone is crying again. For all the wrong reasons. I keep trying to see if she has the ring on. So far, we are three for three. I’m SHOCKED!
Lindsey & Mark
I literally will not be able to take it if these two stay together. She’s a nutbar. Finally, we get a realistic package of their marriage. Oh God. I think they are going to stay together. WTF? On Wait, have we heard about Lindsey wanting to have a baby and go on vacations to Dubai and Australia with a baby in a backpack. Could you imagine being on a 24 flight with Lindsey with a baby? I’d have to highjack the pilot and tell him to get me off the plane. Somewhere. Anywhere. Lindsey complains about Mark being being on social media all the time. He also trashes her on social media. ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE FREE WORLD!

Here we go! Mark says yes. Dammit! Lindsey brings out a box with a button on it that says YES. I am STUNNED! STUNNED! Lindsey says they are together until death do us part. Yeah, she will probably murder him in his sleep.
Then we see all of them packing to move in together. Olajuwon wants to start traveling right away. I am almost ready. Noi wants Steve to get rid of his black leather couch and make his place more “wife friendly” She’s so demanding. They are going to travel too. Jasmina and Michael are not moving in with each other immediately. They going to renovate his grandmother’s house and live there.
The Couples Celebrate Making It To Decision Day
The couples all get together to celebrate their decisions. Then, Chris who was briefly married to that horrible woman arrives. He really got the shaft this season. Oh shit. Then, Alyssa arrives. Why is she even allowed back? Why are people even talking to her. Chris is dating again. I love that Lindsey talks shit about Alyssa. Katina and Olajuwon finally did the deed. They seem happy. She says it was well worth the wait. Then, Steve gets down on one knee and gives her a ring pop. Apparently, that is a thing between them. And then, he gives her the engagement ring! Noi cries so hard she can’t even get it on her finger.

It is a really pretty ring that matches her wedding ring. It was very sweet. They all agree they are all friends for life. I cannot wait until the reunion! Everyone seems to be in a good place FOR NOW.
At the reunion, Lindsey accuses Alyssa of sending inappropriate texts to her husband. That doesn’t surprise me. Katina and Michael are fighting. Alyssa once again says she really is a good person. NO, BITCH, NO YOU ARE NOT. You are an awful, mean human being. And any if not all of these people could could have split.
Mark and Lindsey are moving into his grandma’s house. The one she hated.
It was Olajuwan the expert was talking about with the hoops for Katina not Michael for Jasmina.
This season was too long with couples that seemed hopelessly ill matched. I’m out after this one. Just like the 90 Day franchise it’s become clear the producers want cast members who behave the worst. That’s too much for me.
None of these people should’ve stayed married. I can’t stand Noi. She is almost as bad as Alyssa plus she lacks maturity. Steve is too good for her. I was so shocked that the rest of these people said yes. Are they all nuts? Lindsey and Mark are a trainwreck. I think she’s not only crazy, she’s abusive. She actually said that Mark wasn’t good in bed, or something to that effect. I don’t think any of these couples are going to make it. And that’s the way it should be.
I understand where you’re going with Noi… But at this point ..in six weeks he couldn’t find a job?? There was a lot of speculation that he was sitting on a fat bank account but I just don’t see it. I think he would’ve given her some reassurance by now . I don’t get why he opposed to working. But let’s be honest here.. If the wife had stayed home ..she would be expected to cook and clean, do laundry etc. It seems like he wants her to work and bring the $$ in and then share 50% of the chores. If they were both employed.. yes definitely split the bills and split the chores 50-50.. But this doesn’t seem reasonable to me.
I’m super surprised by Steve.
I don’t need to have a rich man but I do need to have an hard working man.
So Steve has the money to travel the world for months, then buy a diamond ring and you still think he is not financially stable? If he needed a job he would get multiple offers in his field.
I’m thinking the same thing. I checked out that jeweler he went to (because yes, nosy as hell) and that ring he got her seems to be at least 5k and change. Not too shabby for a guy that’s only known her two months? I get her problems. I grew up very blue collar and scared about money my whole childhood. I married a guy who’s upper middle class, and has all of Steve’s great qualities, including confidence about money. Over the years ( many decades here) I’ve learned that that problem is my problem and I’ve learned to let go of it. Childhood fear/trauma doesn’t mean she has to put him through her pain, she needs to deal with it. He seems very understanding, like my husband. We just laugh at this stuff now, but damn, their relationship sure rang bells at our house.
I was as shocked as you that they all said yes!
The reunion looks spicy so we will see who is still hanging in there!
You have to keep recapping MAFS! Your posts were the whole reason I started watching it!
I was left stunned at the end! I kept saying say no, say no but they all said yes…wtf were they all thinking?!? I can’t believe Alyssa showed up at the very end. Major eye roll for that loser! I saw they are already starting another season next month. They should wait and try and get it right. Thanks for recapping TT. I don’t usually comment but I do love your recaps!!! You got me hooked on this and the Australia one.
TT, I read every single recap you post. I just don’t comment if I’ve never watched the show. It’s still entertaining for me to enjoy vicariously.
Somebody spilled the spoilers on a on FB site before the admin could delete it. I always read the spoilers right after decision day and so far they have been 100% accurate. Until this year. Unless instead of decision day results they are giving reunions results. I guess time will tell.
I can’t believe all of them said yes. I’m looking forward to the reunion show. I hope Mark comes to his senses by then.
im so confused by their wedding photos i live in boston i have no idea where they are suppose to be … like it looks like they photo shopped several things into the background …. i think all the couples are awful matches and i was shocked they all stayed together so im going to focus on their weird pictures … also i waited for your piece even though i knew how it ended up
They got married behind the Museum of Science, if that helps. There is a little lawn back there. I’m not sure, but I thought the receptions and photos were also there.
I actually enjoyed the season! I really did not think any of them would stay together. Olajuwon was the worst!!!
I really liked Michale and Jasmina and I how they stay together. I thought he was adorable and i really can’t understand why she wasn’t attracted to him. The reunion should be really good.
I hope Katina at least finishes school to become a nurse. My sister is an RN, works 3 days a week, earns vey good money and has time for her children, husband— plus she cooks..lol.. Olajuwon needs to know that.
I still have a soft spot for these 2— I’m rooting for them despite Olajuwon, he seems to be trying.
Jasmina will never let Michael out of the friend/ nice guy zone- it’s too late. It seems like she was turned off by something early on and never became genuinely interested in him.
Steve and Noi, I hope she grows up , I know she’s 33 but maybe the childhood trauma of extreme poverty and the refugee camp is causing her to be an immature adult.
Mark run.
I also am SHOCKED that any of them said yes. Specifically Mark and Lindsey. Based on what we saw this season, I thought for sure she would say no. He may want to sleep with one eye open.
Jasmina has so friend zoned Michael. It’s too bad because their chemistry is fun as we saw from the couples trip. I do hope that she can find that romantic spark, though since she has no intention of living with him quite yet that might be challenging. She may have to just let him go so they can find someone he is better matched with.
Ola sounded like a husband from the 50s with his wanting a wife to cook, clean and breed.
I want Steve and Noi to work!
Can’t wait for the reunion!
Thank you for recapping, I love a good train wreck!
Love when you recap MAFS! I’m watching TT!
Love your recaps!! This one saved me…I’m taking care of ailing parent and missed the show. Cannot wait until I get back home to watch, so TT to the rescue ♥
I’m joining all of you in the shocked as shit boat over everyone saying yes. I hate how O turned Katina into a self-doubting, low self esteem, insecure person. I feel like she lost herself in this marriage trying to meet O’s demands. I hope she realizes what’s happening and gets out before there’s nothing left of her bubbly, independent, strong personality.
I didn’t understand the positive portrayals of these marriages when they had so many serious issues. Made me wonder if the whole thing was produced, like they all knew to say yes so it all went together.
Another season of bad matches the experts should be ashamed of. Pairing a woman with big security fears with a guy with no job. Putting a male chauvinist with a woman who can’t cook and wants a career. Putting Lindsey with ANYBODY. Putting Alyssa with ANYBODY. Jasmina and Michael were the only kinda normal people, must have been a mistake.
Another season of trainwrecks, coming up!
Great comments, couldn’t agree more. Had also been meaning to post that the complete slate of saying “yes” had an orchestrated feel to it, an attempt to maybe redeem things from last season.
I also especially felt for Katina. There were some comments here earlier in the season suggesting she wasn’t very bright, but I didn’t get that impression. I recall during the honeymoon, she was talking with someone, I think maybe Alyssa and raising some insightful points about Alyssa’s issues with Chris. She seems like a fairly unpretentious, genuine person who was giving the whole process her best. I didn’t get the sense she was or could fake that persona, unlike, say, Myrla from last season. I respect that under the pervasive and visible strain of trying to meet O’s “standards”, she didn’t seem to do what a lot of people would do, lash back and find fault with *him* for not meeting her standard of not wanting to be with an outdated sexist jerk.
Wow. The reunion should be interesting. I think they all wanted to save face but then again, maybe for some, there are genuine feelings. We shall see
Been reading & enjoying your recaps of MAFS & now MAFSA for awhile but never get around to commenting. Definitely enjoy these train wreck shows & always root for the romance lol I do wish the experts were more involved during the season like they are in Australia. It was quite a Decision Day in Boston! I actually thought this season was interesting & better than last season! Can’t wait for the reunion!
