Can I not find anything else on ANY OTHER CHANNEL IN THE WORLD you guys want to talk about? Also it is three am and I can’t sleep because I have a phone appointment with my doctor today. So of course I am up all night posting about nothing when I should be sharp to ask questions about my test results… UGH.
Fellow insomniac. Good luck with the appointment tomorrow. My inability to sleep is driven by my current incapacity to turn my mind off from the truly trivial, so I definitely empathize with the mind turning over the important stuff.
I realize the “all in the family” element was the original secret sauce for this show – but it’s exactly why I have had to stop watching. It’s too dark and deep, the manner in which these extended families are just ripping themselves apart. And now the kids jumping into the fray? No way.
I hope the $$$ is worth it but for me, as a viewer, it is too sad to watch.
Instead I will watch Lindsey and Mark rip each other on MAFS tomorrow which somehow feels significantly lighter 😂😭
Gia knows more than her parents so she thinks she knows it all. It’s been disappointing to see her smug attitude in defense of them.
Oh I love HBO series like The Gilded Age and My Brilliant Friend. Also Ru Paul’s Drag Race. Although this season has been landing different. Maybe it’s all their youth.
Is there a new season of My Brilliant Friend? I feel like it has been ages since I have seen that. Have not watched The Gilded Age. I am a fan of Jorgeous on RPDR.

Gilded Age might become your new favorite. I have learned plenty about that time period, the settings and customs are perfection, and it’s easy feel good tv. I’m was sad last Monday knowing the season was over.

Gilded Age is fantastic! I spent my sleep hours last night reading about the feud between Mrs Astor and the Vanderbilts which are the Russells on the show. Fascinating!

Do you listen to their official podcast? If not it’s on HBO YouTube, Gilded Age playlist. The show runners and actors come on after every episode, the hosts know so much about the history and social diaries of that age. I looked forward to it after each episode. It gives fantastic insight.

Love the Gilded age. That period in history is fascinating & it not discussed enough. I finished Anderson Coopers book over Christmas about his Vanderbilt family which was the a great lead in for this show.

Gia had no choice but to grow up fast and once her Nona and grandpa passed away so did her relationship with her uncle. He lives in the same city as her and hasn’t seen her in 6 mths like really?.. She is a 20 year old woman now who he doesn’t have a relationship with even though he is her godfather, She is hurt and disappointed by him and I totally understand why. You want respect from someone then give it. Plain and simple.
Perhaps the uncle and other relatives want to stay far, far away from that hot mess of a family. Blood means nothing when your sister is a toxic, self absorbed narcissist and when your niece is following in her mothers footsteps.
Gia gives no respect to anyone, just like her mommy dearest…this wont get her very far in life if she expects the rest of the world to treat her like a Bravo princess

Every time I see Gia smugly smart off to a relative I just imagine how it would have gone over (like the proverbial lead balloon) had I spoken to an uncle or aunt like Gia does. Or the way Malinia used to speak to her parents.

A few shows I’ve enjoyed outside of Bravo have been 9-1-1, Angela Bassett is in it and I love her. And 9-1-1 Lonestar. RPDR, finally starting GossipGirl Reboot. Liked Euphoria. I liked the Tom and Pam on HILU, was interesting, had some funny moments too and didn’t feel camp/Lifetime like.
I completely Loved the baseball scene- it is my favorite sport and the background noise of growing up. They made some really good plays! The final play that Tiki made was EVERYTHING.
Teresa’s lack of moral compass is being revealed this year more than ever. When she got back from “camp” was her finest hour IMO. It is so upsetting when Gia seems to be displaying this same traits.
Jennifer is finally getting it. Like having an awakening. Let’s hope that this is the one marriage that Bravo actually saves instead of destroys. I walked away from a beautiful family (3 kids) when they were 15, 18 and 20. Todd was not supportive of my recovery from narcotic addiction and even though I went to a meeting a day (while also running a business), and he went to THREE. If I knew now what I did not know then I believe I could have communicated better with him and the kids would not have had to go through a divorce. We would still be living in the home they grew up in. My daughter and her family live there now, so we can still go up for Christmas etc, but it will never be the same. Sorry, that took a left turn.

My husband has 21years for NA, while I wasn’t there for it, I see the addict like tendencies and I understand how people in his family used him as the scapegoat to all the problems in the household without looking at themselves. The best way to avoid bitches go outside and take in the beauty that is nature!
My favorite shows are Good Trouble (and it’s catchy theme song) and Animal Kingdom. I watch just about all things Masterpiece, some CW and lots of Food Network and Yellowstone. Even though it sucks have seen all of the Call Me Kat’s and Ghosts is the only sitcom I like. As far as Gia goes color me not surprised she grew up on the show and is a major know-it-all. I can see Andy plotzing now and mapping out a show with her and Antonia. “NJ – the next generation”.
I love Teresa! This is the only show where I haven’t lost interest because they still have an OG. Teresa is like a soap opera villain who only cares about herself and her own family. She is so funny and ridiculous. I just want to watch ridiculous things and not focus on Ukraine and the pandemic. That’s why I love the show. So much focus on Putin and the atrocities going on in the world. For one hour a week, I get to forget about all that. I love your recaps and spoilers. I have insomnia too. It’s the worst.
Gilded Age was wonderful. I also love Succession and Billions.
I feel like Gia had to be an adult so young, raising her sisters when her mom was in prison and then her dad. She took on a lot of responsibility young and seems protective of her mother. Most daughters would. I think her mom Is a selfish bully but Gia is clearly the parent in that relationship as well. She could have turned out like the Biermann girls but she’s on a good path

Your description of Gia sounds like a “typical” kid between graduating from high school and graduating from college. When I graduated from high school, I thought I knew everything. When I graduated from college, I knew I knew nothing. I am so over her, but I think she’s not that far from “typical” of that age. It’s just that she’s on national TV and we all get to experience her.
Teresa is really a bigger fool that I would have thought possible if she doesn’t get a prenup, BUT in the long run, maybe it will be just what she deserves for being so dumb.
I don’t know how Margaret kept her cool. So Gia thinks it okay to be rude and disrespectful to others yet demand respect from those she has disrespected. If she continues to speak to the ladies the way she spoke to Margaret then eventually one of them will bite back. She won’t win as she isn’t experienced enough handle it. Then Teresa will loose her shite because kids are off limits and it will be on for young and old. If Gia wants to play with the big guns then she better grab her bullet proof vest. With what she has been through one would think she would be humble yet she acts like an entitled brat who gets what she want.
The Gilded Age and Succession are sublime. Succession is the best written and DEFINITELY best acted drama (with a bit of tongue in cheek humor), on TV today. Both are on HBO. I’m probably biased, but to me HBO consistently has the highest quality shows on any channel. The Gilded Age is beautifully written and is sumptuous and elegant in it’s presentation. The characters are written very well and it’s extremely entertaining. If a person loves “period pieces” like I do (they’re my FAVORITE), they will go gaga over The Gilded Age. There is an extremely quirky drama on HBO that has had one season called “The Nevers” (another period piece….kinda), and it’s great. The second season is soon arriving so now would be a good time to binge watch the first season.

Also, I had a telephone doctor’s appointment today. Part of it included a depression test. SPOILER ALERT! I AM DEPRESSED. LOL. The doctor asked if I had anyone to talk to on a bad day. I wanted to LOL but I did say that I have a few hundred friends on my website who have stuck with me through all my years of DAILY whining. The normal people don’t understand Internet relationships.

What young person in his/ her twenties wants to hangout with a bunch of adults, never mind getting involved with their ridiculousness. The previous kids only really interacted with their family unit, Gia is being aggressive and disrespectful to her family and cast. It may not bode well for her future employment opportunities. Doesn’t she want to be a lawyer? Housewife lawyers are not in practice while on the show…even Phaedra.

I am taking a few minutes to vent about Gia. For the whole “away” drama, she was doing and saying whatever she wanted. The devastating glare she has now developed is supposed to win any point, any time. She is a brat and following in her footsteps is Cousin Antonia. But if my father talked about his privates all the time and my mother made any event into a wedding, I might be cranky too. Melissa is some “Entertainer” alright.
Gia is Tre2.0 so it is hopeless, similar to all the singing careers we muted.
Luis has no future but Tre will get to plan a lavish lavish wedding, come right to a day or two before, and then call it off. (Remember Vicki & what’s his name?). So that equals a minimum of 2 storylines. Andy/Showrunner/Lunch delivery guy all cannot bear to part with the fab Tre. The scarf covering her forehead? She now has no forehead at all.
Bill Aydin looks at Jenn as if he despises her – gives me the creeps.
I guess I watch NJ more than I thought! I am a Jersey girl so have fun ‘down the shore’.
