This season has been pretty interesting so far and things are about to get even more so on tonight’s Below Deck Sailing Yacht recap when Tom makes a critical error causing chaos to erupt. It’s almost six a.m. on the day the guests leave and the alarm is going off because of high winds they are dragging anchor in two meters of water. And the guests are up and ordering coffee. The guests aren’t quite sure what is going on or how bad this is. It is utter chaos. After they get off the sandbar, Glenn goes to ream out Tom in the nicest possible way. Tom throws a tantrum. Nothing is his fault. He was the only person on night watch! HE HAD ONE JOB!
Spoiler Alert! Everybody Lives To Fuck Another Day
Everyone points out to Captain Glenn Tom knew they were dragging anchor before the alarm even went off and didn’t wake anyone up. How would they know that? Colin dives under the boat to check out the keel. It looks a though a huge catastrophe has been avoided. Tom fucks up with the docking as well. The lovely guests have nothing but kind things to say. Tom is still being a crybaby. Ashley regrets sleeping with Tom. She wants to go back to sleeping with Gary. Gabriela is all the way over Ashley. As am I. The guests left a $16K tip. They were great guests.
Gary tries to kiss Gabriella on van into town. What a little fuck boy he is. He’s the Austin Kroll of the sea! And just like Austin, I don’t see the attraction. Tom is gorgeous, but he’s also a toddler who throws tantrums. Colin is the prize if he is single again. This crew is not five minutes into dinner and they are all talking very loudly in public about sex and vibrators and being horny. And it is the women! Colin looks appalled. The females have a future as RHONY. And hey, they are casting!
Gabriella talks to Daisy about Ashley’s stank attitude. Daisy continues to act like there is nothing to do to fix the interior situation. Ah, Colin does indeed have a girlfriend. Or he is wisely using that as an excuse. After dinner they all head back to the boat I guess the bars were closed due to Covid. Daisy starts to try to moderate the situation between Gabby and Ashley. Yeah, probably not a good idea when all three of them are wasted. Of course no progress was made. If anything they are more irritated. Ashley goes to paw all over Gary and Colin in the hot tub instead.
Since Gary is showing interest in Gabriella, Ashley decides to try to steal him back with a back rub. He’s down with that. Tom walks in with Ashley in a tiny bikini on top of Gary with her bruised ass smack in the middle of the camera shot. He’s pissed and storms off. Storming off is literally his best trick. With Gary’s massage ruined, everyone heads back up on deck. Tom starts name calling Ashley, and Ashley volleys it right back at him. Things escalate into a screaming match that wakes up Captain Glenn. Tom dumps a drink on Ashley in the hot tub. The he….wait for it… storms off.
It’s Time To Fire Tom
Ashley tries to get away from Tom but he is basically chasing her around the deck and all the way to her cabin where he continues to name call her. Daisy has to physical block Tom from entering their cabin. Colin overhears the fracas and comes and gets Tom and hauls him away from the girls. Finally, everyone is going to bed and Gary invites Gabriella to join him in his bunk. AND SHE DOES! Now Ashley is all worked up again. Gary and Gabriella make out.
I love the Spanish music they play while showing us what a complete disaster the boat is the next morning. They still have 27 hours until the next charter guests arrive. Does that give them another night of drinking? Did we even see Marcos on this episode? Tom calls his mommy. He’s embarrassed by his drunken behavior. Honestly, that’s pretty common when one is 23. Don’t ask me how I know this. But, contrary to some comments I read today, men and women are not the same. And a man should never attack a woman verbally or physically. I’m sure Daisy was quite happy that Colin came to her rescue.
Blame It On The Alcohol
Everyone gets right into cleaning the boat while rehashing the night before. We seek Kelsie talking to Tom. Nanette kindly sent me some photos and indicated that we finally had a photo of Kelsie. I literally had no idea who she was. She seems to keep her head down, do her job, and avoid the drama. That results in her not being around the cameras much. Smart girl. Meanwhile, the not so smart girl Ashley, pulls Tom off the boat to confront him about the way he treated her on the the night before. It was very disrespectful and it good she is letting him know that. Tom blames it on the alcohol. And he apologizes.
Glenn catches Tom getting the control panels sopping wet while cleaning. He’s getting more and more irritated with Tom. Captain Glenn realizes that Gary and DAISY have a bit of a thing going on at the shift meeting. Has Gary tried to hook up with Kelsie (who?) yet? Because she is the only one we haven’t seen make out with him. That night Tom calls his mommy again and talks about Glenn not “warming up” to him anymore. And he admits he keeps making a lot of “little fuckups” and now Glenn doesn’t like him.
Heads Are Going To Roll
The next day, Glenn has a private conversation with Gary and Colin about Tom. It sounds like he is looking for a replacement. In the meantime, he doesn’t want to give him any serious responsibility. Captain Glenn is so nice he is hesitant to fire Tom. Captain Lee would have fired him on the spot after that failed night watch. He asks that they don’t say anything to the crew until he figures out what to do. I know Colin won’t. But, Gary might. Meanwhile, Gabriella tries to smooth the waters with Ashley. But, honestly? Ashley needs to go too. Ten minutes before the guests arrive Tom wants to talk with Captain Glenn? Um NOPE! Tom realizes he could be getting fired.
Next week: Tom continues to suck as a deckhand. Communication between the interior crew and Chef Marcos doesn’t go well. But the guests seem nice!
