90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days Recap: Head Games

March 7, 2022 by tamaratattles 23 Comments

90 Day Finance Before the 90 days RecapI’m going to begin another 90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days Recap using the First look. It’s an entire hour long. It was only a half and hour. But the second half hour is what I hope is a sneak peak of the David and Annie spinoff. IT WAS SO GOOD! Apparently, David And Annie: After The 90 Days airs on TLC  Mondays at 9:00 p.m. ET. Also it looks like Loren And Alexei also have a spinoff immediately following.  I haven’t caught that one yet. UPDATE! The first season of David And Annie is on TLC On Demand. I watched them all. They were REALLY GOOD.  We need to watch more TLC and less Bravo. The shows there are way better.

90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days RecapGino & Jasmine

Gino and Jasmine arrive at her mother’s how so he can meet her and also Jasmine’s sister. So far, the whole meeting the family scenes have not gone well at all this season. There are also ZERO couples to root for this season. Jasmine’s sister is young. Jasmine’s mom is basically the same age as Gino. She is not thrilled to learn he doesn’t take his hat off in public. Even for prayers. Gino gets to pray with his hat on. But she is displeased.

But Gino, says he can’t tell if she likes him or not. This reminds me of a guy I used to date. He was a very smart engineer who loved movies. Like went to the movies multiple times a week. I would always fall asleep at some point, which he hated. So we were watching some movie and in the first five minutes I said, “Those two are definitely going to hook up.” He was shocked when they did. He had no idea how I knew. Gino, reminds me of him.

Gino asks Jasmine’s mother if she had lots of boyfriends growing up. She says no. She would not allow it. Then her mom brings out photo albums from Jasmine’s past. Gino awkwardly asks her for permission to marry Jasmine. Her mom doesn’t want her move to the US. But, she tells Jasmine to do whatever she wants. She tells Gino to take care of her daughter. Jasmine herself is not ready for a proposal just yet. I need less of these two. Can we just get this damn proposal over with? Everyone of the Americans who call home are being told to leave the relationship. Yet, they feel the need to propose.

Ben & Mahogany

Ben is still coping with all of the things about Mahogany that don’t add up. Am I nuts or was the surfboard that was at the AirBnB where Mahogany was claiming she was living at  the exact same surfboard near the pool where Ben was updating his friend? Anyway, it’s the day after the weird “not her home” home visit, and today they are going to meet with two of her good friends. One of the “good friends” only found out about Ben very recently. This Mahogany girl full of it. The friends say that Mahogany is a trustworthy and reliable friend. I don’t think so.

Then, he asks them if there is something he should know as her new boyfriend. They had no idea he was her “boyfriend.” He asks Mahogany if he is just a friend or her boyfriend. She says he never asked her to be his girlfriend, so they are friends. He says that they had been planning marriage and a family in his version of the one on one interview. He’s very hurt. Word on the Twatter is that a couple got fired from this show before it aired and These two were last minute additions and are faking the whole thing. Ben is really confused. He reads old texts about between these two that reaffirm that she loves him.

Jesus Take The Wheel

So now they are going on a trip. A trip I am sure production planned. It’s an awkward trip. Eventually, they start talking about Jesus. That seems to break the ice. Jesus needs to explain Mahogany’s hair to me. And why Ben is back in the saddle again with Mahogany as if she isn’t a lying liar who lies. Perhaps it is the free trip to the Sechura Desert? Because it is stunningly beautiful. Ben confronts her about the whole “just friends” things. She brings up the fact that he has mentioned two failed relationships and they were never his fault. And just like that, Ben is over her again. Relationships should not be this hard. It looks like Ben might be done next week?

90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days Recap Memphis & Hamza

I don’t know a lot of Arabic, but, I’d think Tunisian Arabic and Libyan Arabic would be similar enough that I could recognize a few words. But, not really. Tunisians seem to mix Arabic with French. It’s interesting. Because I am only slightly less illiterate in French and I took that for years. One of my greatest failures is not learning any language fluently. Hell, even my English kind of sucks.  Anyway, these to people who somehow hate each other but are considering marriage intrigue me.

So, despite “talking to each other through a translator all the time, they decide to meet with a live and in person translator. And, frankly he misses some of the subtleties in his translations. Hamza doesn’t understand the concept of co-parenting. Also he really needs her to stop yelling. Somehow, it all ends well. For now. I don’t see Hamza as someone who is brave enough to leave his country and family to move to the other side of the world.

Road Trip!

It’s a road trip episode for most of the couples. Hamza takes Memphis to a beautiful some beautiful Tunisian ruins. Hamas changes his clothes outside to get dressed up. To go to …farther up the ruins? Is this a proposal? It IS! It was very sweet and romantic. We literally went from “I’m afraid of you” to a full blown proposal in two episodes.

90 Day Fiance RecapUsman & Kimberly

Kimberly learns that Usman was cheating on her with Zara and the relationship overlapped with theirs. Zara is the woman Usman’s latest song is about. Kimberly is over it and wants to change her flight to go home. Well, I mean it was a lovely visit to the spice farm other than that. 🙂 Limberly goes back to the hotel to pack up and leave. Usman shows up with his play station and whatever other crap that she gave him. As if she would want to deal with checking all that stuff again. She does keep the laptop. And she keeps packing. Usman feels like Kimberly is getting aggressive just like Baby Girl Lisa. They are both very similar.

Mike & Ximena

We pick back up with Ximena telling Mike she is not in love with him. I think that was pretty obvious. Ximena gives him the ” I love you but I am not IN LOVE with you.” Speech. Mike is sent to sleep in the kids room after a very awkward side hug. The producer is worried about Mike and checks on him. Meanwhile Ximena is making Instagram photos with her kids, smiling like nothing happened. Mike calls his friend and asks his girlfriend who speaks Spanish to talk with Ximena. His friend says he needs to leave.

Click Here For More 90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days Recaps And More!

Mike, Ximena, and his friend’s girlfriend get on facetime so that she can interpret what she is feeling about Mike. As if it was not obvious. She doesn’t want to really talk to the girl. But, she does. She goes on a tirade about Mike staring at her when she sleeps, and being sloppy, and piggish, and burping a lot. The friend tells Mike he should not be with her. She basically said he was disgusting. Then, she asks Ximena if she feels bad to taking Mike’s money if she is not really interested in him. She says no, if he stops paying she can go back to work. She quit working because he was paying for everything. Mike hears the brutal from his friend and is ready to come home. I’m not sure he will follow through with that.

I didn’t notice Mahogany’s hair so much while it was airing but jeez from the pictures it looks like a toddler cut it. Between her cut and Memphis’ way of wearing her wigs this is a weird hair season. There is something totally weird about these two and it may very well be they are both bad actors. Something is off. I don’t know if there is enough money to make someone go on TV to be humiliated like Ben is.

Projecting forward I cannot imagine Hamza married to Memphis and in the U.S. If it happens, I am interested in watching it. I don’t like how Memphis disrespects his mother at all though. I don’t think she is a bad person but appears to be so consumed with her herself and her needs, that she lacks insights and care of others.

I saw most of the episodes of whatever season it was of David and Annie about them in Thailand and enjoyed it too. And I like them a lot on Pillow Talk. However long ago it was when they first appeared I was sure that Annie was using David and could not be happier to be proved wrong. She is so likeable and genuine.

Great recap; thanks for it. Loved your movie analogy. Even more so when it made think that out of all of the duds I’ve dated there has been no one that made me think of they were a Gino.

Ha! He was not a Gino, he was and engineer. I have a thing for engineers and lawyers. Engineers tend to be not so tuned into their emotions. He was cute and fun but he didn’t pick up emotional cues. Didn’t always get sarcasm. And liked to sort of cheat. I once told him I had a dream that he was cheating on me. His reaction was, WHY DOES EVERYONE I DATE HAVE THAT DREAM? lol He didn’t have a wandering dick but he maintained some relationships with exes via phone.

I don’t know how they manage to cram a 2 hour 90 day episode into a 30 minute Reader’s Digest version without missing some of the juicy drama?
I have to record it at the 12:00am repeat so it doesn’t conflict with EVERYTHING ELSE that seems to be on Sunday night. When did Sunday night become so popular for tv shows, not counting Ed Sullivan? There, I’ve gone and told you my age 😆

Ha! Sunday nights are generally one of the nights when the most people are watching. I have the same problem with recording the shows. But they are not cramming two hours into 30 minutes They just do a first look, which is more or less the first thirty minutes. Or a few minutes of each couple.

Thank you for continuing to write about these weirdos! According to Reddit, Hamza/Memphis are married and living in Michigan somewhere. Also, Mikey has recently come under fire for an old racist Instagram post, and he recently found out that Ximena had cheated on him. As a result, they are no more. I value this goofy show and so many others to distract me from the horrors in The Ukraine. It doesn’t provide complete escape, and I would feel horrible if it did, but it is so cathartic to yell at the tv. (Gino refusing to remove his hat for prayer was a big offender!) The After 90 Day shows with Loren/Alexei and David/Annie were pretty good, and the latter was way better than anything I have seen them in recently. David’s “ghost” made me laugh, and the hair stylist friend of family was SO sweet! His love for David was moving. I’ll watch any iteration of this show. Kimberly’s “I’ll take the laptop” made me laugh. She’s too thirsty to go home any time soon. These people! Comedy gold.

I’m so sorry that David and Annie weren’t successful in their wish to bring the kids to the US. I wonder if that’s the end of this couple on 90 Days. I guess they still could be on Pillow Talk. I liked both spinoffs from two of the most likable couples from the franchise. It was really heartwarming to see Annie’s family finally embrace David.
Mahogany was just playing with Ben. She never expected he would want to show up on her doorstep. It was all a game. I can understand the AirBnB rental…neither she nor her parents (if they really were her parents; her “father” looked Asian to me…wanted Ben to know where they lived, together I bet.
Wow, Kimberly went sheer crazy on Usman. Waaaay over the top. I like him this season, way more than when he was being abused by the horrific Baby Girl Lisa. I would run from Kimberly as fast and as far away as possible.
Mike’s friend was brutally honest with him about how Ximena feels, but he is hooked, hook, line, and sinker. We know from the streets that they are done, but not before he pays for her tummy tuck if not her breast augmentation. What a sorry pair.
So, Alina was fired because of racist comments she made online years ago. And the same was just revealed about Mike I think. Casting ought to do more research in advance.

Oh! I googled Alina and she is the um …. “little person”? Is that the proper term these days? I never saw that relationship going anywhere.

I suspect David and Annie will have a second season where they try again to bring at least the cousin over. The pandemic will be kind of over, visa requirements could loosen less restrictions to fly into the US, and more schooling for the cousin to learn English. At least that is what I am hoping for.

I hope they have a second season too. I felt bad for the 16 year old, the way she was treated at the embassy. Do you think wanting to learn English is a good reason for a visa to be approved? I would think they should say something about wanting to return to Thailand and using what they learned to benefit others.
        Thanks for recapping, Tamara!

I don’t think that lawyer properly prepped her. I don’t think the boy has a chance of going. I hope the cousin makes it in the season two I am hoping for.

I love watching David and Annie on Pillow Talk. He seems to be a really nice, genuine man and Annie is very sweet and nice too. They make a good couple. I agree, TLC has better shows.

I thought Usman was a gentleman not wanting to jump into bed with Kimbahly. If I were to do something as crazy as travel halfway around the world to meet someone I was talking to on the computer I would hope he would be as gentlemanly as Usman. And so what if he was dating Zara that early on, it didn’t work out so drop it. I don’t care for Kimbahly, she is too controlling.

Ximena and Mike need to let it go. Mike is a bit odd but he is a really decent guy. She is using him for all he is worth–literally. Besides, she would not like to come to America and find out she has to live with his dad and grandpa to help take care of them.

Ben is delusional and I would bet that Mahogany never really expected him to drop by in Peru. He bugs me.

Memphis has some issues that she should fix before Hamza and she get married.

Gino and Jasmine- whoa, he is creepy and I don’t see this workjing out at all. Does he even know she has two kids? He does not even have a job, how will he ever support her the way she wants?

Thank you for the recap! I have been slowly becoming more of a TLC show watcher than Bravo. Darcey and Stacey crack me up and I live that Darcey’s ex Tom and his sister do their pillow talk version. Sister Wives is a train wreck and 1,000 pound sisters is funny and sad. But they all seem more of reality than the housewives hocking their skin care, books, “fashion line”, etc.

One thing I will say is that Bethenny, who plastered Skinny Girl all over the place and showed how it should be done, has used her platform to pay it forward in a huge way. THAT’S the way to use reality fame. Love her or hate her, I am always amazed at how she is in the trenches when a disaster hits and not just “sending prayers”.

If Ben and Mahogany are actors, that would make sense. She’s not very good at remembering her lines which would explain the appearance of not being able to keep her stories straight, lol. I would say her parents are actors too, but her mother looks just like her so I guess they’re real.

Mahogany’s hair is the next big thing; born out of the pandemic when many of us trimmed our own in the bathroom mirror. People will soon be clamoring for the professional version of “The Hack.”

Production seems to be trying something new with those in-person translator scenes. I mean, I don’t know how it really helps the couples understand each other better than the app. Particularly when you get someone like that one guy who put his own emotion and little spins on the words, that was hilarious. But I guess it gives the producers a chance to have the couples converse with the interpreter and say, “see what I mean?”–gives ’em more content than what Siri is capable of.

One thing I do love about this show, and this season in particular, is all of the little slice-of-life shots we get of the foreign countries and all of the scenery, in general. A couple of shows ago, when Gino and Jasmine were walking toward their resort bungalow, there was a drone shot of the place and as it passed over the landscape, a big flock of insanely bright, blue birds suddenly scattered out of a treetop. Against all of the lush greenery, it was truly breathtaking. And I agree, that resort in the middle of the desert, in the most recent show, was spectacular, never seen anything like it. That and the ruins, where the proposal happened–oh, plus those Peruvian waterfront shots and so many more–beautiful and intriguing. Hats off to the photographers.

I feel bad for Mike and he needs to take the first flight out and get away from Ximena.
Jasmine shouldn’t have taken Gino back, he sent her pictures to his ex, that is so stupid.
Usman and Kimberly, Usman need to run as fast as he can. This reminds me of Angela/Michael. They feel is ok to disrespect these men on television by throwing things in their face. Let that have been the other way around and the uproar would be through the roof. All of them (Angela, Lisa and Kimberly) are abusive.
Ben and Mahogany, she is not interested, she was fooling him, she was going to eventually ask for money, but Ben moved to fast for her. He need to concentrate on his children who are the close in age and same age as M. There are so many scammers out here now, so many people want a relationship or companion. You need to run a background check to date.

Hi Tamara! Great recap. Every time Ben comes on, I am DISGUSTED. What a POS. I don’t care how good he THINKS he looks but to date a girl of 22 when you are his age (and she looked even younger in her photos on Instagram) and think you have a future with her when you have a 22 year old daughter is absolutely DISGUSTING. She may be a scammer, but he is a pig and uses the name of Jesus as his destiny and I can’t with this man. Love you Tamara, hang in there, we are all going through it right now!

TLC is my go to channel now. To me, the housewives are played out and it’s the same storyline on each city. Thanks for the recaps!
