It’s a dark and gloomy night in the ATL. It kind of feels like the day after Christmas. I so enjoyed all the snow yesterday even thought it didn’t stick and I didn’t get to make a snowman. Yes. I am five years old when it snows. But it is time for a Below Deck recap and we get to see Captain Lee in full regalia. So that makes me happy. I consider myself a friend of Captain Lee and he is even a greater person off the boat if that is even possible. Tonight the new third stew finally arrives. And I predict drama. Let’s get to it.
I literally had to rip myself away from bingeing Before the 90 Days to get caught up on this new season. Frankly, I can’t wait to get back. It’s VERY BIZARRE lol.
WTF IS GOING ON WITH RAYNA?
Okay I am focusing. Fraser is comforting Rayna who is clearly over it all and just wants to go home. Heather comes in and they act like everything is fine. I think that it is Fraser who somehow always has his radio on. Captain Lee and and Eddie can here some of it from their location. OOPSY. Rayna is still crying. I’m already confused but it is breakfast time and I wish I had some. Eddie goes to check on Rayna but she doesn’t want to talk. Heather whines about how hard her job is. Is not like she is the chef making three meals a day for the guests and the crew. We don’t even see her cooking for the crew. Suck it up, Heather.
Okay, pause the TV. If I am being honest this seems very production driven. All of the sudden Eddie and Captain Lee are suddenly having this newfound desire to care about Rayna? Captain Lee was pissed at her just last week and Eddie has always disregarded her feelings. Is Rayna a handful? Yes. But That doesn’t mean she doesn’t have experiences that trigger her. Like, HEATHER. Should Rayna just swallow it and do her job? Yes, technically. But, sometimes it’s not that easy. We all have our triggers. Eddie tries to teach Rayna more skills. Eddie asks about what is bothering her. She explains that the Heather thing still bothers her.
It’s About The N Word
Eddie and Captain Lee finally talk about the N word situation with Heather. Eddie says that Heather apologized but that there is something else going on with Rayna that she doesn’t want to talk about. Perhaps when she was… I forget what? Assaulted by white people in an elevator or something? I don’t know, I just remember she had some sort of race based attack on her that makes her even more triggered when she faces racist shit? The crew heads out to set up a beach picnic.
Fraser is feeling vulnerable with the new stew coming in. Heather and Kaylee, the new stew, hug and greet each other. So Heather shows her around. She seems to know that Heather needs the spotlight at all times. Meanwhile, Captain Lee is stewing because Heather volunteered him to do their vow renewals. He don’t get the point and neither do I. I you make a solemn vow, it does not need renewing. It’s not a solemn lease. It’s a solemn vow. Rachel is working on a Japanese dinner. I don’t think I would care for that.
Eddie And Rayna Have A Chat
Eddie wants to get to the bottom of everything that is going with Rayna. That’s a very deep issue that I don’t think he needs to know about. She doesn’t want to talk about it. Eddie says he has her back. Rayna felt like she tried to talk to him and he shut her down. Eddie is now suddenly down to help Rayna. It’s a nothingburger of a talk. Eddie seems to be covering his bases and Rayna gets it. Meanwhile, Kaylee is trying to in with the crew. It’s a weird crew to fit in with. LOL. You kind of need to pick a side at this point. And, Rachel is also a master of Japanese cuisine. Because, of course.
Captain Lee shows up for dinner in his most formal attire. The guests are very happy and tell him as much. The guests LOVE Rachel’s food. Rayna is again working in the kitchen. Captain Lee says he has never had the same meal twice from Rachel. One of the guests has an ear issue and cannot chew. Yikes! Captain Lee may had have to get dressed to eat with the guests, but he LOVES Rachel’s food. Then the husbands surprise the wives with a vow renewal. Captain Lee is not thrilled with this ceremony but it was very sweet. Frankly, I think Captain Lee needs to nominated for People’s Sexist Man Alive. No Offense to Mary Anne at all. Most of them are married.
Captain Lee talks to Eddie about Rayna. Eddie tells Captain Lee that Rayna feels like he brushed her off when he came to her. Honestly, Captain Lee kind of brushed it off too.
And We Live To See Another Day
It’s breakfast and how the fuck is anyone supposed to decide between chicken and waffles, and Banana Foster’s French toast? I think I’d go with the French Toast and hope I had a husband who chose the chicken and waffles. lol. Meanwhile, Fraser approves of Kaylee’s laundry work. As if she needs his approval. The guest are leaving and one of the women give Rachel her retirement coin from he time in the Navy. This makes me weepy. It’s her United States Service Navy Pin. WOW. I have a feeling this is a huge tip.
It’s time for the tip meeting. And my sound is going in and out so I missed the tip. Captain Lee tipped out to Kaylee and others followed suit. Layla did not and I don’t blame her. She’s been the third stew for weeks. My Internet has been crappy since Snowmageddon, lol. Oh Lord, I think we are going out with the crew. At crew dinner on shore Rayna talks to Rachel about becoming a chef. That is where he passion lies. I hopes she goes to culinary school. I love that Rayna feels like she is “getting old.” Eddie supports her. Jake is wearing women’s panties and we all see it. What we don’t see is ANYONE getting why Rayna was so upset by Heather. Fraser apologizes to Kaylee because he felt intimidated. FINALLY, the interior is united.
Back on the boat, Fraser and Jake bond… Next week we start the final charter. That makes me sad. But I have a lot of episodes of 90 Day Fiance Before the 90 Days to catch up on. And with that I bid you all good night. Pop Culture Kelly is back with the premiere of Summer House that I will put up tomorrow! YAY!
