On Wednesday a Judge ruled that Bethenny Frankel no longer has to pay child support to Jason Hoppy for their daughter Bryn. Bethenny brought back to court during what seems to be a never ending custody battle to asked to be relieved from paying child support according to multiple reports. The couple currently shares 50/50 custody of Bryn who is now 11 years old.
It seems that Bryn is old enough to decide where she wants to live and that is with her mother. Bethenny Frankel testified that Bryn often did not want to go to her father’s when it was his custody period. As a result of nearly a decade of contention between her parents, Bryn experiences “anxiety, hyperventilation and hives.” A defeated Jason Hoppy appeared in court without an attorney and stated he was removing himself from the custody fight to preserve the mental and physical and emotional health of his daughter and himself. He read from a statement that said in part, “I will not spend the remainder of Bryn’s childhood fighting as we share joint physical custody. “Bryn knows I love her, I want her and I will always be available for our time together.”
In the end, Jason Hoppy’s custody was reduced slightly to make Bryn more comfortable. Bethenny Frankel says she will not force Bryn to go when she does not want to. Bethenny also says she knows it is important for Bryn to have a good relationship with both of her parents. This whole situation makes me sad. Bethenny knows that she suffered due to her parents relationship. It’s like history is repeating itself. What do y’all think?
