Survivor 41 Recap: Baby With A Machine Gun

November 24, 2021 by tamaratattles 10 Comments

Survivor 41 RecapIt’s time for a Survivor 41 recap. I really want to watch this episode, but I will be going to bed right after. I’ve had a weird headache all day. It moves around from my head, to my sinus cavities, to my upper teeth and jaws. I don’t ever get headaches. I also can’t keep anything down, even water. So, that’s tonight’s sob story from here. Even Banjo is sick of my cranky old ass today.

We begin right after the tribal councils when the two groups get together to announce who went home. Sadly, it was Evvie and Naseer. The good news is that Shan and Deshawn seem to mistrust each other. The Melanin Alliance is starting to crumble. The reward is pizza and and a night sleeping with blankets and pillows. The challenge is a physical one that starts with swimming and then there are more physical challenges on the beach. Lastly they have to solve a puzzle. It’s going really fast. The puzzles seems complicated. Ricard wins. That’s not good news. He chooses Shan, Heather, and Xander to have reward with him. Interesting choices. Now Ricard has a target on his back.

Deshawn and Danny want to to get Ricard out this week. They go to talk to Liana about the plan. They guys don’t want her to tell Shan because she is close with Ricard. At the pizza party, Shan and Ricard both talk about how they are both worried the other would beat them in a final two. The next day, Liana asks Shan if they are still going to the end with Deshawn and Danny. Shan says she doesn’t trust Deshawn anymore. But, she also wants the four black players to go to the end. Liana is mesmerized by Shan. So of course she tells Shan about the guys wanting Ricard out. The two girls are now coming for Deshawn. Shan goes straight to Ricard and tells him to vote out Deshawn.

On To The Immunity Challenge

Ricard is going to gun for it. It’s a balance competition. These usually favor smaller women. Erika should be good at this. Liana is out quickly, then Danny drops. Erika is out! šŸ™ Next, Heather drops her ball. Shan is out! YAY! Ricard, Xander and Deshawn all look strong. Then, Deshawn drops. Xander is out! Ricard wins! Ricard wants to shoot his shot at Shan! Xander, Heather and Erika would be voting with him. They have four but they need a fifth. Doesn’t Xander have an extra vote? This would work perfectly. Ricard says that Shan told him that the four were going to vote out Ricard and it was Shan’s idea to flip the vote on Deshawn. Deshawn denys it. Ricard tells him he needs to vote out Shan. Deshawn says he will vote with Shan.

Danny says he is willing to vote out Shan! But, will he really? It would be great everyone did. But these tribal councils this season change on a dime. So, I’m trying not to get my hopes up. The Melanin alliance seems really pressed about Erika. Erika’s plan is to put three votes on Shan and three votes on Liana. But Danny and Deshawn aren’t really down for putting votes on Liana. So we are back to square one already. Danny seems to want to vote out Erika. If Erika goes I will be pissed.

Survivor 41 RecapTribal Council

If there was the usual last minute scrambling before the vote, we didn’t see it this week. No one plays their idol. Wow. Shan and Liana both tie with three votes each. Erika got two. Let’s send Shan home! Erika cannot hide her glee. šŸ™‚ She storms off saying that Ricard has her vote for the million. She calls Deshawn a snake. And I am thrilled to see her torch go out. How is Deshawn the snake? She’s the one who sold out her alliance to spill the beans to Ricard! She’s way to bossy for this game. Shan leaves with an idol in her pocket. Xander still has his idol and I believe an extra vote. (I could be wrong about that).

This was a GREAT episode!

It was a GREAT episode and I’m so happy to see Shan gone! Naseer couldn’t hide his glee from the jury side. Loved to see it! Well executed by Erika and the rest of them.

    Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Initially I was not for Shan or Ricard but come to admire they played hard. But it was too hard, too aggressive.

Liana is super annoying. And I’m still rooting for the underdog Xander. I get that Erik knows she’s at the bottom and has to scramble but she’s going to hard and Danny sees that and it could send her out sooner than later.

I should have led with this, happy Thanksgiving y’all. TT I hope you and Banjo are having a great day. I’m thankful for you and your site to keep me apprised of all the things I don’t watch but still can’t fully let go. Lol xx

Thanks Athan, and I feel like Erika kind of got “exiled” from the very beginning of the season. Both figuratively and literally.

This was such a good episode! I love this show so much! Seriously, it’s still the best thing on tv. That was a beautiful and satisfying tribal, and the jury reactions were priceless. Still pulling for Xander and I agree that Erica’s banishment earlier in the game might have sealed her fate-from simply drawing the bad rock. There’s still the good/bad luck factor that can outweigh the best of gameplay and the production interference which makes the game still so suspenseful and entertaining.

Loved this episode! I was sure Danny wouldn’t go for voting Shan out until DeShawn pointed out her betrayal. He was pissed she went against HIS alliance. I knew then Shan was toast! Good riddance. Shan went home with an idol in her pocket that she stole from Genie. Karma. Still rooting for Xander. Wish he would have looked harder for the idol under the bench he was sitting on. Two idols would have been amazing since everyone knows about the one he has now. That would have been an epic tribal play to pull out a second one!

I never thought they’d blindside Shan. It was quite sad to actually see lol. My husband and I were shocked and floored BUT it was a great episode and tribal council. Shan got hella blindsided lol.

You think she’ll have second thoughts that it away Ricard who said the words to blindside her? He said it BUT Erika put it in motion. I’d say that was her blindside and just got the numbers.

To see the Jury’s reaction was priceless. They were loving it and just shows that they would not have voted for Shan even though, up until that point, her game play has been the best out of the group. We can say she’s a cunt, too aggressive, and stole advantages but she used her words wisely to outwit people. She ā€œhadā€ a good social game.

If Xander makes it to the end the way he’s playing, I wouldn’t vote for him. He’s done nothing but been a vote. Always on the wrong side of the vote, on the outs, and people have realized that on the tribe hence why they’re targeting other threats. He has an idol and still not seen as a threat. To me, that’s crazy.

BTW. I only started watching Survivor this year lol. Pandemic had me bored and began watching seasons on Paramount Plus and have killed about 20-25 seasons haha.

Lucky you! To finally find this show in the pandemic is some GREAT binging. If you run out of shows do the same with Big Brother!

That was a great episode! Why’d it take Shan so long to be voted out when she was obviously pushy in the game. If a man does that from the start, he gets booted instantly for being bossy. I find that interesting.

Ricard or Xander gets my vote. I’d love to give it to Erika, but she always has a target on her back so I don’t think she’ll win. One can hope, though!

Agreed. I was rooting for Naseer so it is hard for me to choose a new person. There are a lot of people I want to see go, but I want Lianana to go next. MAYBE. It depends on how she is without Shan. I liked Deshawn this week because he was playing his own game. I was shocked that Danny agreed to vote out Shan. An Erika win would be amazing. Erika and Tyler as a final two would tear my heart in half. Erika was ostracized for some reason really early in the game. So I would be shocked if she got the win. But I am still rooting for her. It will be interesting to see what happens with Deshawn, Liana and Danny when the feel like they are not really on the top anymore.

I love Shan as a character but her game play got under my skin – she was a bit entitled and relished running the show. She and Ricard are peas in a pod in that way – probably too similar to be aligned. Liana shocked me with how quickly she folded and told Shan the plan. Deshawn is paranoid and that will be his downfall. I’m really excited the alliance fell apart because I’m looking forward to seeing Danny play a game outside of the safety of numbers – he’s clearly thinking strategically and I was impressed he jumped on board to oust Shan. He’s one to watch to win, for me, and I’m curious to see how he navigates Liana’s anger next week.

Just because of all of the mistrust and machinations in this season, I’m pulling for Xander to fly under the radar and go to the end. It seemed to me that he threw the reward challenge. I think he’s trying to lay low while the big guns take each other out. But this jury will be looking for resumes so he better not lay too low.

Please don’t let Heather float along to the final 3!

Great season of a great show and so glad to discuss it here with yall!
