Y’all I am a bit late with this Below Deck Recap. I was catching up with a friend over the phone. I’m not a huge phone person so we had a lot to catch up on! I am not a huge fan of the phone unless I’ve had a few glasses of wine and feeling sorry for myself. So, it was nice to catch up. Today was Captain Lee’s Birthday! Click the link where you can contribute a few bucks to one of the many charities he supports! I was talking to my friend when doing setups. Neither of us understands this episode title. I am sure it is going to come out of Captain Lee’s mouth though. Production knows how his folksy sayings appeal to us. But, I do think that, production wants to make it happen more and make it less genuine.
Oh I totally forgot about all the drama between a male and female guests on the boat. These people are drunker than a four peckered goat! lol. I am waiting for Captain Lee to say “Don’t make me pull this boat over!” Eddie walks the female to her room. Eddie gets help from a slightly saner charter guest to get the belligerent drunk dude to his room. I don’t know about y’all but I’m either a crying drunk (do not give me tequila!), or a horny drunk. I don’t get all angry when drinking unless my partner is being a dick. Something is going on with these two. I’m shocked no one has fallen overboard.
The next morning, Fraser and Jessica seem to be both working laundry, why? This is a huge boat with three stews. Eddie gives Captain Lee the rundown of the previous night’s events. Heather shows up and Captain Lee, blurts out “pissed on chickens can’t compare.” What the fuck does that even mean? Is that a Michigan thing? LOL. Whatever that means, I do understand when he says he is going to have a “come to Jesus moment with them and this is not going to happen again.” Something tells me it will anyway.
It Makes Me Want To Take a Shit In His Mother’s Dinner Plate
Now that Jake has a been made lead deckhand. Rayna is pissed that she is on nights. Now the lover affair has ended between these two. Heather is traumatized by the abusive guests and it reminds her of being bullied in school. Okay Captain Lee uttered the above phrase about the asshole charter guest, Jason (?). That’s a bridge too far for me Captain Lee, I love you but that is unnecessary for someone of your caliber to say on TV. Captain Lee calls Jason up to have a chat. Jason at least isolated himself from the situation unlike the woman. The primary, Michael is also present. Where is the antagonizing bitch, Terri? Why does she get off scot free?
Captain Lee’s main point is not to disrespect his crew. He says that if it happens again they will be off the boat. Meanwhile, it is another beach picnic. With a roasted pig. Charter guests Jason gives Heather what I perceive to be a sincere apology after Captain Lee put the fear of God into him. Heather was super professional in accepting the apology. New found respect for her. Everyone is working hard for the beach Luau. Oh holy hell. Rachel actually cooked the pig ahead of time because it would have taken forever to cook over a spit on the beach. BUT THEN IT CATCHES ON FIRE!
The Beach Luau
Heather is from Hawaii so she is an expert on the subject and thinks everything is going great. Overall, a great time is being had by all. The pig was turned burn side down and everyone is happy. Heather reports as much to Captain Lee. Everyone was well-behaved. Everyone high fives and the day is done. The deck crew however is another story. Jake is calling out Rayna for being a slacker. Which is kind of awkward since they hooked up on the last episode. Rayna may need a ticket home. Captain Lee is happy with Jake.
Heather lets Jessica off her shift 20 minutes early because she is exhausted. Rayna complains about Jake to Eddie. To his credit he listens to her, and subtly tells her to get her shit together. Jessica and Wes bond in the crew mess. This pisses off Heather who let her off early. This episode is so hard to recap because I still haven’t gotten the stews clear in my head. OH MY GOD! Rachel’s breakfast the next morning is a crab fest. It looks amazing!
Thank God They Are Gone
It’s time for the guests to leave. And the tip envelope looks small. After they leave, Captain Lee is not happy with the deck crew. But, as it turned out the tip was good. Eddie talks about having a sexual relationship with Rocky. She is may favorite Below Deck person (other than Captain Lee of course) of all time. She is probably the most hated by Captain Lee. Eddie talks about the fact that he was in a relationship when he was having sex with Rocky. Why is Captain Lee not bothered by that? I also liked Leon and the whole “he makes beef cheeks every charter” was stupid to me. The guests LOVED THEM. And why does it matter to make them for the next guests? Sorry. I loved that season and thought Captain Lee and the crew mistreated, Rocky AND Leon.
Off we go to a crew night out. Rachel has been very tame this season. Is this when she turns it up? This sort of Truth or Dare occurs. Jake finally realizes that Fraser is gay. It’s not like he was hiding it. Then they all head back to the hot tub on the boat. It’s crazy. Eddie goes to bed and calls his girlfriend. He is trying to be a better boyfriend. Eddie thinks she is handling things well. She is not. She’s over his yachting and partying. There was a three way kiss with Rayna, Jake and..???? The situation with Rayna and Jake is going to be problematic. I feel like Captain Lee never liked Jake from the beginning.
WAIT WHAT? Fraser drunkenly proposes to Jake and Jake says he is already engaged. Now Rayna is furious. Jake is like “Did I say something wrong?” MEN!
The next charter looks like another clusterfuck.
