It’s almost nine o’clock am. I’ll be going to bed “for the night” soon. Banjo has taken up my sleeping habits and neither of us are good sleepers at night. So while I was keeping a watchful eye, I decided to check to see if Scenes From A Marriage was on HBO on Demand. Last I checked it was on HBO Max and y’all know I don’t stream because (a) old people and (b) I always have to be online all the time or I might have a nervous breakdown. 🙂
I talk about Kelly Ripa pretty much with any therapist I’ve ever had. She is the opposite of depression and anxiety. At least that is the impression she gives. She gets up every day and goes to work and is happy and talks about her wonderful life, her hot husband, her bazillion famous friends, and somehow it doesn’t annoy me. I find it a fascinating acting job. Every single day she pulls off peppy, upbeat bliss. She literally pulls off that she is never having a bad day. You know except that time Michael Strahan fucked her over, but that’s another story.
My point, and I do have one is that Kelly and Ryan always talk about how they love certain shows because that is their job. And the talked about an HBO Max show, Scenes From A Marriage way more than other shows. So my bad attitude has been IRKED that while I have access to HBO MAX as part of my HBO subscription, if I wanted to watch those shows I had to fucking stream them. So about 4:30 I went to look for something to watch with one eye while watching Banjo with the other.
I NEED A SEASON TWO!
And LO and BEHOLD! MY HBO option had changed to HBO MAX. Now the old folks who have HBO can watch shows the way the Good Lord intended. There were five episodes. I almost gave up after the first episode. It’s kind of boring. But if Kelly and Ryan talk about it so much I felt like I must like it more. Long story short. I watched all five episodes. I just restarted episode five because I got distracted posting this. But once you get to episode two you won’t be able to stop. Also, episode five is the in the season finale. And I just Googled and it is a “limited series” and so no season two is expected. So leave your wife/husband and children for five hours or so at some point and go watch. You won’t be able to put it down.
It’s sort of a role reversal of a 1973 Movie of the same name. It also appears to be on HBO Max. I AM NOT GOING TO WATCH IT TODAY. At least not until I get some sleep first. The couples are allegedly reversed in that movie.
Please don’t spoil anyone. This is more of a public service announcement.
