Alina & Steven
Since there isn’t much going on this Friday night, I have some time to catch up on my 90 Day Fiance The Other Way Recaps. Let’s get straight to it. We start in Turkey, which is a beautiful country I would like to go back to as an adult. Unfortunately, Alina is making some really poor decisions and is stuck there with an abject moron. What does she see in this fool? He’s not even physically attractive. After a week at the old apartment, they decided to move to a bigger place. Of course Steven wants to do some stupid Mormon compatibility thing. Alina points out that Steven has too many female friends. She asks him what he was thinking when he asked if he could go on dates. Steven admits he has been dating. Alina feels betrayed.

Alina wants to know what else Steven has lied about. She checks in with her friend who is trying to flirt with Steven online to see if he bites. She also tells her friend that Steven continued to go on dates after she thought they were exclusive. Steven did reply to Alina’s friend and actually seemed to invite her to come during the winter. She tells her friend to respond to him and see how far he takes it. Then, she will decide what to do. Alina wants to talk to Steven about his dating other women when they were together. She finds out that he was kissing other people. Every stupid thing Steven says is making things worse. Did he just compare himself to Jesus? Yes, yes he did. He promises to delete his social media.
Oh and he needs to tell her he slept with some of his dates. So, these two go out to a wine tasting. Even though they don’t drink wine. Apparently, they will taste it and spit it out. Alina misses drinking wine now that she has become part of the cult of Mormon. Steven suddenly blurts out that he is not a virgin. She’s speechless.
Ariela & Biniyam
Over in Ethiopia, these two take their son to the doctor. He has a bulge in his groin area. What on earth is Ari wearing as pants in this highly Orthodox country. There is more skin than fabric. The doctor says that the baby has a hernia and needs surgery as soon as possible. He refers them to a pediatric surgeon. Ari already wants to take the baby home for the surgery. Bini is pissed. It’s like she is always looking for a reason to take the baby home. Due to Covid, Bini can’t get a visa. Ari goes to the barber with Bini. She tells him she wants to take Avi to the US for his surgery. She tries to blame it on insurance. They both cry.

Ari is worried that Bini will hate her. Bini is pissed that she waited until they were out in public with lots of people around to tell him. Bini is terrified that she will take the baby and never come back just like his first wife did. She already has her ticket. Bini leaves the barber shop without her. He says to the camera that he will not let her do this. Bini begs her not to go. Later, they talk to Ari’s mom who reassures Bini that Ari will come back. But, he is still terrified.
Later, Ari goes with Bini’s sisters to an Ethiopian spa. Bini wants her to be the one to tell the sisters about taking the baby to the US. Part one of the spa treatment is getting smoke blown into your vagina. I seem to vaguely recall seeing this on another show. It doesn’t seem like a good idea. Next is butter in their hair. I have done a mayo hair mask before so this seems more reasonable. I’m not sure about the coffee and honey on their faces. Good Grief! She is going to the US for a MONTH? Why so long? This sisters are sad and worried about how Bini is going to survive this.
Armando & Kenny
Armando and Kenny are still visiting Armando’s family. Kenny talks to Armando about the talk with his father. Frankly, I think it went better than expected. Armando understands that going to the wedding might be something that takes him a bit to digest. Kenny needs to just pipe down about Armando’s issues with his father. Kenny’s daughter goes out with Armando’s daughter Hannah, as well as his mother and sister. They go to a seamstress for dresses for the wedding. Kenny’s daughter cries about Armando’s family having a hard time with his homosexuality. She lets them know that Kenny is a good father and Hannah will be well taken care of.

It’s time for Kenny and Armando to go pick up Hannah and go back home. Armando’s dad wishes everyone a safe trip. And he gives, Cassidy, Kenny’s daughter a necklace. He really does seem to be coming around even if he is not on the time table that Kenny expects. He’s making progress. Some things can’t be rushed. Armando’s whole family is crying. I think Armando could do so much better than Kenny.
Ellie & Victor
In Colombia, Ellie and Victor discuss what to do moving forward after the hurricane destroyed the island. Victor says they need to occupy their house and protect there stuff. He says they can go back and forth to the island and rebuilding their house. Ellie goes out for a beer and facetimes her friend back home. She tells her about the plans to rebuild the house and return to the island for real once there is power and utilities again. Her friend brings up Victor’s infidelity. They haven’t talked about it because so much else is going on.
Jenny & Sumit
I was starting to wonder if we were going to get any scenes with these two! It’s the second hour and we are just getting around to them. Sumit talks to Jenny about his conversation with his family. They are not accepting Jenny as part of the family. Sumit says that his mother called him afterward. She is upset that his father can’t stop him from living with or being engaged to Jenny. He was so hurt he couldn’t even talk to Jenny about it until now. Sumit’s mother was close to the wife he had to marry. She misses her as daughter. She blames Jenny for his divorce. Jenny says that his mother needs to get some therapy. Sumit says they all need to get into counseling. For both of them, and Sumit’s parents.

What the heck? Next week Sumit’s parents move in with Jenny and Sumit? Corey meets up with Jenny from Peru? Armando wants to have another baby. But Cassidy is very much against it. After, Steven is caught texting other women, AGAIN, Alina is ready to call the whole relationship off. Victor tells Ellie he will give her all the money invested back during a huge fight where she wants to go back home. Also, it is already time for Kenny and Armando’s wedding! Jenny is going to leave India since Sumit is never going to marry her. Ari seems like she is in fact NOT going to come back after two months in the US. SO MUCH DRAMA!
YAY!!! Been waiting for this recap of one of my guilty pleasures outside of Housewives 😊
Alina needs to leave that fake Mormon. I agree that Armando can do much better than Kenny. Kenny makes so little effort to understand Armando’s culture, his language, and his family. Self-centered, righteous, and judgmental. WHAT could prompt Sumit’s parents to move in with Jenny and Sumit? His mother is so abusive. Bini must have cheated on Ari while she was in the US for her to react the way she did. What a sad scene in Providencia.
Kenny pisses me off. He’s selfish and self centered. While I understand his desire for Armando to live an openly gay life & have it completely accepted and embraced, it’s wrong for him to push so hard and not be grateful for the steps in that direction. Armando can most definitely do better. I don’t mean that in a snotty way. It’s just that I don’t see Kenny being as supportive as he should be. Like Deb in SF says, he doesn’t make the effort that he should if he truly loves Armando. And it’s none of Cassidy’s business if they decide to have a baby, for what it’s worth. She has siblings close in age. Why can’t Armando’s daughter have siblings? She shouldn’t dictate Armando’s life. Maybe she has legitimate reasons. We’ll see.
Excellent recap.
Thanks for the recap TT!
Ok so I was wondering if anyone noticed that Ari’s face looked slightly different in the previews for next week…. ie had work done…. Maybe I saw it wrong but I know in her talking heads, the one look is vastly different and I thought she just lost some weight…. Nevertheless…. I can’t stand her and just so manipulative to make the decision and buy the ticket and then TELL Bini. This isn’t a marriage…
She likely got some adjustments done while she was in the US. Definitely had her lips done. They always have to wear the same outfit while they film commentary, so looks can change a bit from the start of the season to later on.
Yes I agree! I was going w weight loss until I saw previews.. clearly some work done which is her choice but the way she “told” Bini instead of making a decision as a couple is just wrong.
I love this show and thank you for recapping! I can understand Kenny. He’s older. He’s the financial provider. So I can understand his perspective on having a baby at his age, having a baby in a foreign country and now having 2 additional children to raise instead of one with a family that doesn’t fully accept him or his husband. I think he’s looking at the situation realistically. Armando wants a huge wedding with family and friends who don’t accept them fully. I wouldn’t want to pay for anyone’s dinner who didn’t accept me or my partner. I would have a huge problem bringing a child into a family that can’t accept everyone for who they are. I love Kenny and Armando together so I’m hoping all this tension is for the cameras and not real. Steven is the village idiot and Alina needs to run. Quickly. Get away from him. At first I thought he was on the autism spectrum but I changed my mind. He comes across as self entitled, attention seeking and Mormon when convenient. If he was on. The spectrum he’s be quirky but follow rules. She needs to count her blessings that he blurted put the truth. I think her mom is coming to Turkey so hopefully that’ll be it. You are spot on with your recaps and I appreciate when you do them, TT.
What makes you think that Kenny is the financial provider? I don’t recall that ever being discussed. Armando had/has his own pet grooming business. I’m not saying you aren’t right, but I never recall it being discussed.
Kenny mentions it in nearly episode in some subtle way or another. He has said he is not paying for the giant wedding that Armando wants among other things.
As someone mentioned Steven is a future cult leader.
why does Kenny think Armando’s dad needs to get with the program on Kenny’s time table? Who made him the judge of how much time it takes to adjust to anything? He’s bugging me. And PS, LEARN SPANISH! Again, it’s ALL about Kenny. Ari and Bini? Just no. She got pregnant with a rando while figuring out if she should divorce her husband or not and then just because she’s so different, she decided to stay with him. WTF? It seems everyone in her life walks on eggshells around her. I feel bad for the baby. Jenny and Sumit, I believe, are playing it up for the TLC $. God knows Sumit doesn’t work and why is that? Why isn’t he working? Honestly, I think the whole family gets along and it’s all fake. Ellie needs to leave that guy, move back to Seattle and stop trying to save him. The whole thing is just plain strange. Steven is so creepy, a liar, a manipulator and a narcissist. What does she see in him? She doesn’t want a green card so what’s the draw to that weirdo? She needs to leave him in Turkey and go back home pronto. He borders on dangerous to me.
Great recap, Tamara! Most of the Americans are losers on these 90-Day shows … Steven, Jenny, Ari, Kenny, Ellie. It’s embarrassing! Kenny and Armando seem to be a popular couple with online fans, yet to me, they seem so mismatched with too many insuperable problems.
I used to really like Kenny and Armando together. But Kenny needs to understand the culture and he clearly does not. He seems very controlling of Armando. Since he has the wallet he feels like all decisions are his. He doesn’t understand a younger man wanting another baby. His grown children are overly dependent on him. It’s not the perfect couple I thought they were.
I always think it’s odd that Kenny does the driving in Mexico, especially where he can’t read Spanish and doesn’t know the area. There could be a million reasons for it — maybe he gets car sick or maybe Armando prefers to navigate as the passenger or maybe it’s easier for Armando to deal with this daughter that way. Myself, I love being the passenger. But when I see it, it kind of reinforces for me what you are saying about Kenny being controlling.
Steven is a weirdo!
Alina could do much better!
Thanks so much for the recap! You do them well.
I think Sumit doesn’t work because Jenny didn’t want to be left alone from an earlier episode eons ago. Does anyone know if that is still true? It looks like his parents are moving in with them so his mother can teach Jenny how to be an Indian wife. I am sure that will go well.
Does anyone know if Kenny or Armando work?
BTW it appears that Geoffrey Paschel was convicted on all counts and is facing 8-30 yrs in prison.
Everytime Steven mentions how he and Alina cannot live together because THEY might be tempted to have sex I have to laugh. I’m pretty sure he’s the only one who would be tempted to have sex. I also don’t understand why she has to learn to be a perfect Mormon while he is a jack Mormon. He just seems manipulative to me.
Not saying this to be mean or insensitive. Steven I do not think understands he is there to get married to Alina. It looks like they are just on vacation.
The Bini and Ari situation is frightening. Why did she feel the need to overdramatize the leaving to US for a month? Then the reassurance of yes will come back. Something is off about this.
Thanks (or not) to Nightly Pop, I’ve now been visually scarred after seeing Skoodilypoop Steven “drink” wine! What a loser! WHO EVER would fuck that little weirdo weasel? Puke!
Alina wasn’t virgin before Steven either. How do I know this? I fucked her repeatedly to orgasm when she was 12 and I was 17.
So you are a child molester? Please stay in Russia.
