Every time I prepare for a Below Deck Recap I always feel like this season is NEVER going to end. I’m ready for some Captain Lee. And yet, we still have one more charter to get through. And I suppose some sort of virtual reunion. Le sigh. I can only hope this title means that Delaney comes back. I like her. This season has been MILES better than the last season. But, I’m still ready for this to end.
Courtney Gets A Promotion
OOPS. I am getting a late start because I was catching up on Jeopardy! And lost track of time. There is a guy on there who has won well over a million dollars and only Ken Jennings has won more consecutive games than he has. He literally knows everything! Anyway we start with Mzi messing up the docking. And Lloyd also screws up. But they manage to get it together. Katie on the other hand awards Courtney a second stripe on her epaulets. She is super excited by the news. She is officially second stew. It’s a well deserved promotion and everyone is very happy for her. On of the passengers gives Katie his hat.
On the other hand Mzi is upset by his recent docking mishaps. Also, he feels really awkward around Courtney after sending her flowers didn’t go over well. The guests compliment Mat and his food. And they have nothing but great things to say about everyone on the crew. At the tip meeting, Captain Yawn praises the interior. But as I pointed out last week, the deck crew had to fill the role of third stew to the detriment of their own jobs. This boat should never run with only two stews. They got $15,000 for a two day charter. That’s a fantastic trip. Plus they are all going to the winery for some R & R. Captain Yawn has begun micro manages the deck crew.
Malia Calls The Deck Crew To Task
Malia gets her deck crew together to discuss their regression in ability. She tells them they are all making rookie mistakes. Even David has fallen behind in his duties. But that was because he was injured. So he doesn’t understand why he is being called out for anything because he was basically given the job of third stew on the last charter. Mzi and David complain about the situation over cigarettes. They are also said they have disappointed Malia. The new guests preference sheet makes them seem like they are high maintenance. They want the crew to perform a talent show for them. What are they, trained monkeys? Most of them can barely do their jobs at all at this point.
Mat has never had a complaint or a dish sent back. Except for Sandy who is just annoying AF. The guy who left Katie the had left her a quote inside. “How quickly I become jealous of the wind, when it not I gets the privilege of messing up your hair. ” Um, Okay. That’s a panty dropper for me. The crew continues to flip the vote for the next charter. Then the crew goes for their last night out on the town. The girls wish the deckhands were more fuckable. lol. At the vineyard, they all guzzle lots of wine. Perhaps that will make them more fuckable. 🙂
Malia tells her deckhands that sometimes she has to be tough on them to keep them on their toes. I can’t begin to explain the difference between Malia last season, WHO I OPENLY HATED, and Malia this season who I have come to respect and appreciate her as a woman in a traditionally male job who is doing the damn thing. She’s probably the best Bosun across all the franchises. Courtney gives a toast (NOT A “CHEERS” PEOPLE #PetPeeve) to Katie as the best boss bitch to work for. With Lexi out of the picture, it’s all love among the crew. Zee feels like a fool over the roses and Courtney hugs him and tells him how much she appreciated it and apologizes for sort of blowing it off in the moment.
People start talking about Lexi. WHY? Her odorous behavior still lingers. Mat has every right to speak his mind about her. She is in fact a horrible human being. Stop making excuses for her. Courtney is wasted and breaks down sobbing for no reason. Mat comforts her. Courtney’s dad has Alzheimer’s. Lot’s people didn’t know. Lloyd is worried that if the next boat is going to be as comfortable a work environment as this. While I agree with Mat about Lexi, he needs to LET IT GO. She’s not there. Stop letting her continue to trigger you. She’s horrible. But, she’s GONE. David tells a shocking and sad story about taking all of his antidepressant at once and waking up the next day in the hospital. 🙁
Back On The Boat, The Crew Gets Even More Wasted
The van rides home have a lot of drama. David feels like Malia was being condescending to him in the deckhand meeting. Newsflash, she was not. Now stop making me stick up for Malia! He’s drunk and all in his feels and falling into depression again. In the other van, Mat has a bottle of tequila and two Coronas in his hands. This night will not end well. David smartly goes to bed once they get back on the boat. Everyone else seems hell bent on draining the bar. Courtney is so wasted she cannot speak. Zee falls into the bushes.
The next morning, the weather is going to be terrible for the last charter. The guests are needy and everyone is stressed. Lloyd continues to worry that he will not be accepted on his next crew. He is already missing this crew even though this job yet. Stupidly, Kate is going to do this cruise with only two stews. Lloyd struggles with the bow line. The next charter is three nights. Something is wrong with Lloyd. He starts to throw up. Captain Sandy takes his blood pressure and it is very high, So, she sends him to the hospital. I am so glad that he is on WWHL. I love Lloyd!
Lloyd is on WWHL with Kate Chastain next. As always, I’ll update in comments if there is anything news worthy. Or not. I just accidently deleted the show. I’m recording again at 3 am. Someone fill me in on what happened with him.
