Kenya Moore On DWTS

September 22, 2021 by tamaratattles 22 Comments

DWTSI missed the premiere of DWTS last night somehow. I am watching now on demand with the whole ads and all unable to fast forward. So, I can only watch for an hour because I have two shows taping from 8- 10 so I might not get to the end before that. So far, it looks like Iman the basketball player will be an easy first departure. That can buy Kenya and the others some more time. I personally think Jo Jo Siwa will win this season but I haven’t seen the competition yet.  I’m not sure why Olivia Jade is not cancelled, but she did really well and got partnered with Val Chmerkovskiy who is considered one of the best pro dance on the show. So she will go far. The black country singer (sorry I missed his name) was not very good.

There is some older man who does Karate and got basically 3s across the board. He is totally first to go. Ugh of course Kenya is going to start off the second hour and I won’t be able to watch until after 10 pm. So close to getting to see her. I presume Jo Jo will close the show since she didn’t open it. She is the presumed front runner to win. Off to watch The Voice and Bachelor in Paradise. Back later with Kenya.

GREAT JOB KENYA MOORE!

YOU GUYS I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW GOOD The Voice is this season! So amazing. I also have two shows taping at ten. New Amsterdam and  American Crime story: Impeachment. So I am going to have to wait until 11 pm to watch the rest. I love that Bravo has no crap to recap on Tuesdays. So much good TV.  I need to pause for a minute and talk about how much larger Tyra looks than we usually see her. Did she get some sort of butt implants? I dunno what it going on her.   Anyway, Kenya says she turned 50 this year and is living her best life. Kenya’s dance partner is clearly happy to see her. Things start off well! YAY!

DWTS KenyaKENYA MOORE IS THERE TO SLAY!

Okay I do not know who Brandon Armstrong is but this is a great match. WOW!!!!!!!!!!! I am very impressed! Kenya did great and is possibly the first “real housewife” to do so well! I think that might be Brandon, her GBF cheering her on.  Bruno RAVED about her. It really was a great dance. She got GREAT reviews from the judges. Kenya  can’t contain her excitement. She got 26 points. I am so happy for her. I take back my statement about her leaving early. Kenya has come to slay and she is doing that thing.

Matt James from the Bachelor was really good too!  Like so good he could win the whole damn thing!

I was shocked he didn’t get the greatest scores. Straight sixes? I think he deserved more. What do you think? No one has gotten over a seven so far. I think Kenya got a mix of sixes and sevens but I have already forgotten. It’s late and Banjo is requiring most of my attention.

Brian Austen Green is actually dating his coach. They loved him. Sort of. The scores were low. Sixes across the board

It’s time for Jo Jo with the Bow Bow and her female dance partner. And of coarse she wins the night with the first score of 8 from Carrie Ann.

Kenya could actually go deep into this show based on her performance. I’ll be rooting for her. I’m not sure I have room on my living room DVR for DWTS but I’ll try to record it in the bedroom or watch it on demand. I still can’t get over Tyra’s ginormous hips! She has to have surgically done that, right? Anyway, Jo Jo Siwa is the winner of this this season. Her partner had a slip up at the end and they still won the night. Jo Jo was flawless.

Kenya is great! She was dancing (here’s an old ANTM Tyra phrase) from H to T. I am stunned! And who doesn’t love Jo Jo? Her energy is infectious. I have made it this far with ever watching the show, but Mike the Miz? Add another show to the DVR!

Literally I have not watched one season of dwts except the season Jerry Rice was on (and should have won, ijs)! But I’m a kenya fan and was prepared to vote all 20 times for her (10 on the network’s site and 10 thru texting) sight unseen…but I was very pleasantly surprised that she actually danced so well that she DESERVED all my votes! Yaassss ms twirl!

I had gotten out of watching DWTS the past several years, but one of my daughters suggested we flip back and forth between that and WWE (yes we are a sporting/entertainment 🤣 household, and The Mia is on DWTS too) and this year May get us watching again. Do not like Tyra, loved Tom Bergeron. This year I see JoJo, Kenya, Matt, Amanda going far. The judges always score low to begin but even we thought they were more harsh than normal. 🤦‍♀️

Kenya did great. Of course Jojo will win. I kind of thought the fun part of the show (and the whole point) was people who don’t dance working hard and being transformed into pros, but it’s just such a delight to watch Jojo and her partner I don’t even care. I just want to see more.

I’m so happy for Kenya! She needs uplifting with her divorce going on in the background.
Matt did really well too. Usually tall people with long limbs are awkward like giraffes trying to dance. He had full control of his body. And looked good and happy doing it too. Thanks for posting the dance clips Tamara.

I was very impressed with Kenya and even my hubby commented about how well she did. She was beautiful, kept a smile, kept the energy, and nailed most of the dance. She came to win, that’s sure

I must be in the minority in that I’m not fond of JoJo – and so far can’t stand her. It has nothing to do with her dance assignment or her life assignment so don’t assume that. I didn’t follow the whole Dance Moms thing but saw her on an episode of Celebrity Family Feud and just wanted to smack her. The whole hyper and OTT thing drives me crazy. It’s like she’s just trying to create a scene and not do the work. I don’t know.. hopefully my mind will be changed and she’ll grow on me. I’m pulling for one of the others – maybe even Kenya to win. (I also don’t think it’s fair to bring in dancers to compete against people who have never seen a dance floor)

The smile on Kenya’s face was infectious. She really knows how to bring on the charm and stage presence. Watching this really made me understand how she became Miss USA. I hope
She goes far because out of all the Real Housewives juggernauts, Kenya always seems to be the least appreciated. She needs a win. JoJo looked great and I’m
Happy for her. I am, however, side eyeing the fact that she’s been formally trained since the time she could walk. And, she’s a better dancer than her coach…

Hi Tamara! I too noticed how large Tyra appeared and I don’t usually watch this show. I asked my husband if he thought it was the dress and he said no, that is a large woman. Not judging or anything, but it’s always a surprise when a supermodel/celebrity puts on weight before a new season of their show? That dress was doing her no favors, IMHO

I am still not sure what is going on with Tyra Banks. The dress could have had weird hip padding? I can’t see her gaining that much weight and it going unreported… Hmmm I checked her IG and she does have much more voluminous hips that usual. I leaning toward she had some booty surgery rather than just gaining weight.

I think it’s ridiculous that they cast someone with dance experience or iceskaters. They will tell us it is SO DIFFERENT, which it is. But they have a huge advantage — dancing to a beat/count, not a tune. Steps transition other genres besides ballroom. Most unfair, being in top physical shape. Even a mellow waltz takes flexibility, strength and coordination.

You can tell who the casting wants to stick around, or takes seriously. They either put the “heroes” with the best dancers or a fan favorite. e.g. They don’t cast Max with a one-and-done. They paired Kate Gosling with Tony D. because he is a solid dancer and excellent teacher. They put Nancy Grace with Tristan, who was imminently likeable, but not as well known, because they knew her huge fan base would keep her in the competition and give them time to test Tristan (my all-time favorite).

I was pissed about the entitled Olivia Jade, especially because she was paired with Max. But Carrie Ann was so gracious with the “opportunity for a new start” that I found myself softening. I will have to see if her attitude changes.

JoJo with a BowBow has one of the most obnoxious Dance Moms ever. Now that she is older, maybe I can get behind HER, but not her being cast with true amateurs.

I haven’t watched in a while, so I do not know Kenya’s partner. I would LOVE to see an upset. I still smart over Donnie Osmond, who has performed choreographed numbers since childhood, winning instead of Kelly Osborne and Louis van Amstel. Osmond shouldn’t even have been on the show. Underdog Kenya COULD go far.

I love seeing Kenya performing well and willingly doing the work. DWTS is is a physical marathon that non dancers are not prepared for. I always root for her, even when she is an ass on RHOA, I’m not sure why. I usually think she is just trying to do what she was hired for. I believe her great smile, intelligence, and backstory won me over. So far, it looks like she is way better than any other HW that has appeared on DWTS. Nene and Erika both even had some professional dance experience!

OK….haven’t watched DWTS in a millennium, but I will watch to see Kenya and vote for her because simply because she looks so lovely and danced so elegantly. Sometimes I hate her, oftentimes I love her, bur no one can say she isn’t entertaining. She was a joy to watch and she has a DWTS fan in me!!!

I do not understand why Olivia Jade is on the show. What is she “famous” for or what makes her a “star?” Her parents arrest? Blogger?

We are all as clueless as you are. I imagine that her parents bought her way on to the show. But that’s just my guess.

NoNo on JoJo. She is an experienced dancer and should not have been cast. To me amateurs are so much more entertaining.

Tyra gave an interview saying that she basically gained 25-30 pounds during the pandemic. She still looks great in my opinion, I’m just used to seeming her much slimmer. She still has a great shape.

Tyra does fluctuate with weight. I vaguely remembering her speaking about when she had her show. She’s by no means fat in my opinion but she can grow some hips! She’s always beautiful. I remember her saying people said negative things when she’s voluptuous.
I don’t care for her as host. It’s too much. Save glam and costumes for contestants and pros.

My mom loved the show and we were in a hotel and I think we watched previous episodes on ABC go website. This was before streaming was a thing.
