Big Brother 23 Recap: The Cookout Has To Cannibalize

September 13, 2021 by tamaratattles 24 Comments

Big Brother 23 recapBecause, I watch the feeds when I get a chance, I am always confused about where we are in the episodes when it’s to write Big Brother 23 recaps. We begin with The Cookout celebrating getting themselves to the final six. They deserve a lot of respect for that. One more thing they did that has never been done in history. No week one alliance has ever stayed together in Big Brother’s entire previous 22 seasons. Generally the minorities (usually one or maybe two) are the first to get sent out. They should have included Alyssa though because in order to control the jury they need one more vote. Anyway, kudos. People on Twitter are screaming that this is a racist season and That’s laughable. Did they not watch any of the first 22 seasons? Because, I watched of them and had the feeds back when I was on dialup.

The Guys This Season Really SUCK

Then, we back up a bit because Kyland is furious that he went on the block. He feels like the girls did that for jury management. You know, the most important part of the game? Why do the guys get so pissed when the girls play this game? WHY? Because they are all chauvanistic pigs that is why. Kyland and Xavier both think they are final two. And they probably are. They are both man children who needs a lot of coddling. Tiffany wants to get Xavier out. However, they chat and Xavier sees that Tiffany is trying to save her ass with him. Girl, you in danger! Hannah tries to suck up to Kyland. That is not much more successful.

Derek says that he wants to put up Tiffany. He wants to put Tiffany and Hannah to go up. He says if one comes down he will put up Ky. Ky and Xavier say they both want to take each other to final two. Kyland is such a moron. He only wants to go to the end with “the best.” I am so over Big D and his WILDLY inflated ego. He seems to think he has done anything in this game other than clogging the toilet and leaving shit stains.

BB23 recapThe HOH Challenge

The HOH is a version of the egg challenge where they have to work eggs up a wire fend and then roll them to knock over three targets. Big D has no excuse when he doesn’t win this one unless maybe it is fat fingers. Azah needs to go hard for this. Xavier tells the camera he is no longer throwing comps. Well, good for him! Xavier must be a recruit who didn’t watch enough Big Brother in quarantine. He has no idea how to get the eggs up and out. This sort of challenge has literally been on three quarters of the previous season.

Big D is the first to knock down a lever. Then Kyland finally gets one. Tiffany is not really worried because she has a final three with Hannah and Kyland. The name the alliance the Con Artist. Since Hannah is HOH and cannot play she wants either her or Kyland. Same with Hannah. Kyland wins and the girls feel safe. Derek ties with Kyland with two of the three targets taken out. Kyland doesn’t really care if Derek wins. He knows he is safe with Big D. He tries to throw it to him. But then just decides to take it because Big D is not doing well at the end.  It’s his third HOH. The girls in the Cookout think that between Kyland and Xavier, Xavier will win. But, really, Kyland has won more than Xavier. Mostly, because Xavier threw a lot of comps.

Nominations

Of course Big D cries about losing again. He is such a whiner. Xavier feels really safe, because he just made a huge final two with Kyland. Those two agree that if anyone wins the veto, Azah will be going up. Neither Xavier nor Kyland want to sit next to a woman at the end because the jury is mostly women and they feel like they will vote for a female to win. I think Xavier will take Derek to final two and Kyland truly does want to make his case against Xavier. Tiffany tells Ky to put up X and Big D. She tries to tell Kyland that Xavier has a lot of votes in the jury house.  Kyland thinks Tiffany would have more. And he is probably right about that, so I don’t mind that he put Tiffany and Hannah on the block. Hannah offers to vote however Ky wants  her to if she is not on the block.

She also tells Kyland that Xavier will win if he is not taken out this week. That is probably true. And I believe both Hannah and Tiffany believe that. Kyland nominates Tiffany and Hannah. This pretty much ensures a female will not win. Kyland feels really bad about having to make that choice. But he basically told Xavier he was good five minutes before. Wow. Kyland makes it clear that his target is Tiffany because he has lost trust in her. He tells Hannah she is up so that if she won veto she would not take down Tiff.  He’s clearly putting it out there.  In his confessional Ky says he just can’t trust her. Tiffany is toast. Tiff says she needs to win veto so she can send Ky home next week.

Love the final 6! I call BS on Twitter’s opinion. The producers finally put enough POC in there to make things fair. Those people were smart & stuck to their alliance until the end. I think it was Tiffany who came up with the brilliant idea for each Cookout member to use/go up against their friends who were not in the Cookout. She should probably win for that.

I watch the show but i always enjoy your recap & the comments afterward. Thank you!

I understand why Tiffany is upset to have been put on the block, but it always makes me laugh when someone enters into a deal with another person or people in the house — goes into the diary room and says they won’t honor the deal if they’re the next HOH — and then gets pissed off when someone doesn’t honor the deal they made. The way things generally work out, Tiff will win the Veto, pull herself off of the block, win next HOH & send Ky home. Could someone who watches the live feeds keep us posted on the comps as they happen?

I will be so disappointed in someone ends up dragging Derek or Azah to the final two. Getting on a powerful alliance and then spending your time lounging in bed is not a game strategy. Its laziness.

Kyland DID NOT use the power of veto on either tiff or Hannah.

Oh wow! Tiff must be livid that she didn’t win POV. This could get pretty ugly.

I am anxious to see how this goes.
Right now is a lot of talking about splitting the prize which they know is a no no.
        It is like a bribe.
They are considering ways, like ” sending a $5,000 Christmas gift”
They always seem to somehow mention this every season.
I have always wondered if in fact monies have been split.
I think with Derek and Cody, I wondered the most.

They’ll probably get a stern lecture about violating the terms of agreement if they keep talking about sharing the money (buying votes). Are they all talking about that or are just a few of them making promises they can’t keep?

Oh Derek Frazier had the most to say, LOL.
Tiff said that she would give $100 each.
Hannah and Xavier are telling them to basically be quiet.

Right now I am trying to figure out what Derek F is talking to Azah about. They are both laying in bed, Xavier is listening, and Derek was saying something about Azah not responding as he thought she should, but then realized that she has her own thoughts.

$100 each? What the hell kind of deal is that?
Or was it $100K…..Which nobody would ever really do!?
Oh yeah, remember when I said I would give $100K each? Well, I changed my mind now that the check was made out to me!

AHA, I think said $100. Lol.
She’s smart enough probably meant 100k.
The whole thinking is that they played as a “team”.
A good argument, but the “contract?” I thought .

The contract forbids any type of agreement between players to split the money. When Derek and I for get his BFF’s name wanted to do that, Derek took Victoria (I THINK MY BRAIN AIN’T Thinking good.) who was a huge floater like Azah/Derek and won. Afterward, he gave his BFF big Christmas presents. Like a motorcycle or something. Again don’t trust what passes as my “memory” these days. But the point is they can’t split money after the show.

I think Derek & Cody came in 1st & 2nd place & Victoria was in 3rd place. But I’m a little fuzzy about it too.

              So I googled
The finale came down to Cody winning the final Head of Household (HOH) competition. He had the tough job of choosing between Victoria Rafaeli and Derrick. Cody decided to stay loyal and take Derrick to the final two. Derek won.

Terri, the next comp to know as it happens, who wins, will be the HOH COMPETITION Thursday, after the eviction.

During the week when Claire went home there was an agreement by the cookout that Kyland would win the HOH put Tiff and Claire on the block then send home Claire home. However when they played the competition Tiffany deviated from the plans and ended up winning. She put Alyssa & Xavier. In the end Tiff did send home Claire but they were all mad she didn’t do what was originally planned. From my perspective this soured her relationship with Xavier and Kyland. Plus Big D already didn’t like her.

You’re absolutely right, Mike. Big D doesn’t like Tiff at all and hasn’t for a long time. The comp that she promised to throw & then won sealed her fate with Ky & X. I can’t really blame her for not throwing the comp & letting someone else win, but in the longrun she still ended up losing.

    I do not understand something.

I keep hearing “because tiffany won that second HOH, it is costing her $750,000”

    Why?

The cookout has been great. This is the hard part now that they have to send each other home. I hate that it’s Tiffany this week. I just hope it isn’t Hannah next week. In the end they still made a historic alliance.

      Thanks Mike. 😊
      Why did she DO that!
Derek just doesn’t like her, trying to take credit for the Cookout, but it seems like she can say no more, she’s going to jury. Sadly, tiff is probably going to be evicted.
