We’re having some pretty bad storms in the hood tonight. Frankly, I am shocked I still have power. I’m not great with storms, so, I am trying to focus on this Big Brother 23 recap. Banjo is sticking really close to me and it is kind of past his bedtime. Anyway…
We begin with Alyssa crying after winning the High Roller Game that week that caused to to have to spin a roulette wheel afterward. The person whose face it landed on becomes a replacement nominee. The ball landed on Xavier, her closest (and really only) ally in the house. He really doesn’t have her back at all so she should not be so freaked out. He’s in a six person alliance that is dominating the season and she is not. In one of Derek X’s diary room sessions that he feels confident that he is not going up the week and is glad he can play for veto. He wants to win. Then, Claire clues him in that if X comes down, he’s going up. He has to get picked for veto.
The good news is that CBS production just played a tape of Sara Beth saying that if Derek doesn’t get picked to play he is definitely going home. That’s a huge spoiler for the casuals. So maybe that means there is hope for Derek after all. There has been a glimmer of hope today that Claire might be voted out. But we shall see. Also, it’s interesting that X was hoping he could make it to final two without touching the block. This explains why he is irritated with Tiffany who has the same goal and has still never been on the block. Derek realizes that he is in trouble after talking to Sarah Beth. The veto players are Sarah Beth, Xavier, Claire, Azah, Derek F and Alyssa. Derek X is DOOMED. Claire also cries in the diary room about the people that were chosen.
The Veto Competition
It’s time for the veto competition. Since I was not online much this week, it was hard to understand the competition from the bits of pieces I have read about. Also, I have serious bad Covid brain and I can’t even remember who won. So it will all be brand new to me. Ah okay, I was wondering why Xavier took so many punishments. The game is an individual one. They go out one at a time and need to build a chain of falling dominos until it is long enough to hit a button. However, they can choose between playing for veto or playing for prizes. It’s one or the other. The person with the fastest time wins the prizes. Damn the chain they have to build is really long and has multiple curves.
Alyssa goes first and is trying for the veto to save X. She does great and gets it on her first try. Derek goes for the money. Azah goes for veto and doesn’t do well. Up next was Sarah. She went for veto and also told America they can wipe their butts with the BB Bucks because she never gets any anyway. Next up was Xavier and now I get that when you go to veto the choice of which path you choose to take is determined by the punishments you select. The worse the punishments, the shorter the course. Xavier took the three worst punishments, 24 hour solitary confinement, BB Bucks bankruptcy and third nominee.
Claire Has A Meltdown
AH! Now it makes sense how everyone knows that Derek F is the only one who can play for the Coin of Destiny or whatever it is called. The winner of the reward veto comp got $100 BB Bucks and $7,500. Apparently Derek was the only one who played. The winner was not named but THEY ALL KNOW IT WAS BIG D. He’s literally going to have money left over after High Rollers is over. Several other people are too broke to continue. He is the only one who has enough at the moment to play the last game. Xavier won with a time of 3 minutes and five seconds. Everyone is shocked by his time. But he did that the worst three punishments and got to take the shortest route. Claire cries because she doesn’t want to sit next to Derek X.
Next, the gang got an outdoor activity where they got to make baskets for The Red Cross. They are super excited. After that, some game talk goes on. Tiffany tries to convince Derek X to get Sarah Beth to put up Hannah. That would insure that Claire went home instead of Derek X. Sarah Beth almost goes for it, but in the end, Derek X went up on the block. And despite some last minute scrambling today, sadly, he is probably going home tomorrow night. There was a lot of talk in the house today about how to get Claire out instead of Derek X. On The Cookout the girls want to keep Derek X and the guys want to keep Claire. Pray for a last minute flip, y’all!
