Well off I go completely unprepared for this Family Karma Recap. Or not. Apparently, it did not tape because of Tyler Perry’s Sistas and Love Island. So I’m going to head off to Big Brother and will be back with this later. Sorry. Okay, I am back! Let’s get to this. They are showing the engagement scene and I am enraged to learn that right after they all watched this episode together at a public watch party it seems, someone idiot walked up to Nicholas and punched him in the face. WTF is WRONG with people?
Wedding Bells Are Soon To Come! For Some Anyway
Vishal and Richa seem to actually be getting along. There was a really cute playful scene of the two of the and Bali. Bali was pushing Vishal in a cart and dumped him out. They were all laughing hysterically. Everyone goes out to a nice dinner to celebrate the engagement. Vishal’s parents are there. I love them. They give Nicholas a piece of gold to symbolize that the new couple is entering their golden years of life. This is such a sweet show and a sweet family. I was already emotional watching the first MAFS wedding today. I’m an emotional mess.
Speaking of families, Monica 1.0 and her dad got out for a banana split. OMG! It’s enough for four people! Monica already wants to marry the new boyfriend, Rish. She wants to get both her parents together for dinner. They basically aren’t on speaking terms. So that should be interesting. Brian has finally told Monica 2.0 he was laid off during COVID. She is already pressuring him to find another job. Brian is not ready to get married. His mother says there is no timeline for getting married. Just take it day by day. Brian’s mom caught a fly with her bare hands! She’s a rockstar!
Let There Be Peace On Earth And Let It Begin With Lopa…
Richa goes to visit her mother, Lopa who is NOT a rockstar. Everyone, it seems is talking to their parents about weddings I don’t think any of them want to have except for Vishal and Nicholas. Richa is getting a bedroom in her mother’s fancy new condo. Vishal, will not be allowed in it. Richa says that Lopa and Reshma fighting all the time is harming her relationship with Vishal. Lopa plays the victim. This scene is being filmed on Lopa’s beautiful balcony on the 41st floor. I’ve never really felt safe in high rises. But after the recent catastrophe in Surfside, watching this on TV gives me anxiety. Apparently, Richa’s older sister fell in love, got married and cut off all contact with her family ten years ago. So, that is what Lopa’s deal is…
I just realized why this episode didn’t record. Bravo keeps airing episodes that overlap into two time blocks. Ain’t nobody got time for that! I love Anisha. They aske her what her age range is for dating. She says 31 to coffin! I’m sure she’s serious! Her clothing line is doing really well. Unlike She by Sheree, she actually has a warehouse full of fashions. And it’s not even Spring, Summer, September! She has a huge deal with a major retailer. She helps Vishal and Amrit find the best material for their underwear line.
The Auntie’s Not So Happy Hour
Oh Lord, Dharma, Brian’s mom is having a happy hour and Lopa and Chitma, Anisha’s mom, are both coming. This will not end well. Dharma and Lopa get along really well. The men pour some drinks and quickly bail. Apparently, Lopa hates Chitra too. She hasn’t seen her in two years. Lopa blames Chitra for telling Reshma about some trash-talking Lopa did about Reshma’s son. Did you follow that? Because, I can barely keep these people straight. Chitra says she said nothing bad about Lopa to Reshma. Reshma pretends like everything is fine between her and Lopa. So Lopa says they can’t solve the problem if she denies there is a problem. This happy hour is not so happy.
Monica and her new beau Rish go to dinner with both of her parents. They haven’t sat at the same table since their divorce years ago. Monica is super nervous. Rish thinks everything will be fine. Monica’s dad looks terrified. His ex is sitting right him and you can tell, she is a lot. Somehow, they all start telling memories. And everyone laughs and relaxes a bit. It’s very interesting that Monica was very young during the divorce and she lived with her father a lot of the time. Monica’s parents give their blessing for the wedding that isn’t even a thing yet. The parents even hug goodbye and chat and make peace after the kids leave. This could NOT have gone better.
Speaking Of Weddings That Will Not Happen…
Brian and Monica 2.0 are not in a happy relationship. They are on totally different pages about the pace of their relationship. Brian is not ready to get engaged. He tries to communicate to Monica 2.0 that she makes little comments that damage his ego. I paraphrase. She has a lot of expensive expectations. She wants a fancy car, a fancy house etc. She says she can get those thing for herself. He says her expectations are too high. She tells him to STFU. Wow.
Monica 2.0 is really putting the pressure on Brian. Brian doesn’t want to move to Tampa. She doesn’t want to move to Miami. These two need to split up. This is going nowhere and neither one of them has decent communications skills. They both toss barely camouflaged insults in the conversation. They go back inside where Brian’s parents are. She complains, “He touched my face and ruined my makeup. I have to go fix it. Who says that to her boyfriend’s parents? The bickering continues.
OH NO! NEXT WEEK IS THE FINALE? WE ONLY GOT NINE EPISODES? I AM TRAUMATIZED! Maybe there is a reunion??? 🙁
