Remember that trip that Sonja Morgan took to visit Josh Flagg? Well, he interviewed her for his Vlogg on YouTube. And it’s as interesting as you might think. And I have questions already. Like, were there modeling jobs to be had at Studio 54? I always imagined it was where models went on their downtime to see and be seen. Am I mistaken? This seems like another fantastical spinning of stories especially how she met her husband. I’m only four minutes in and this is both very interesting and delusional. She claims JP Morgan proposed on their first date. I love that she is not wearing pants. She also damaged Josh Flagg’s face on his wedding day! LOL.
Sonja says she had to pick up the slack drinking on the show because Leah and Luann were not. She says Eboni is smart and beautiful. And she is on a mission. She says all the white women are “getting woke” and learning about Black Lives Matter. Sonja is still working on her shoe line and a million other things. Sonja claims that she sends Josh her unisex perfume line. He says she is full of shit. She has broken everything in his house.
Does Sonja Have A Drinking Problem?
This is the best fag hag/GBF relationship EVER. We finally learn about Sonja’s mother and two sisters. They are very devout Catholics. WOW. They all live in Nashville, one sister lives outside of DC. They do not watch the show. This is fascinating. She says that her ex-husband didn’t want to divorce but they had to. Sonja Morgan says in the end it was not amicable. She says she got no alimony, or child support. She also claims she dated Prince Albert before she got married. Josh asks if she has a problem with alcohol. Sonja Morgan says she just drinks a lot on the show but she doesn’t have an alcohol problem. She doesn’t drink off camera. She says she is a lightweight. Sonja also has Fans Only account. I love these two together.
It’s worth it watch the whole thing.
In what state was Sonja awarded no alimony or child support?
New York, apparently… I have trouble believing anything Sonja says.
I certainly don’t think of her other than imaginative to cope. In other words, she’s not a liar. I think something is sad/sweet/funny about her and it’s easy to tolerate the tales, but sad watching the mess.
This 100 per cent. I love her like a wounded child.
I love the boys of MDL shows.
She may have gotten a settlement, technically not alimony. Maybe the term isn’t child support, but clearly her ex supports their daughter.
You can find Morgan v. Morgan easily on Google (I’d give the URL but I think that’s against the rules?). This 2008 case was adjudicated in CT. It cites an antenuptial agreement in 1998, signed the day they were married, and a postnuptial agreement signed in 2000 that modified the first agreement. Basically, Sonja was supposed to get alimony and child support payments and Mr. Morgan wasn’t paying it. This was followed by her bankruptcy in 2010, when it came out that Morgan also owed her a $3 million dollars she was supposed to get when the divorce was finalized. He said he was destitute and wasn’t going to pay it.
It’s hard to find out what happened after that, but there must have been some kind of arrangements made for daughter Qunicy’s boarding school and college. Maybe the deal included Sonja’s promise not to bad mouth her ex-husband.
Interesting. Thanks.
That was great! Not sure what was real or not, but it was fun!
So glad you posted this. This was the BEST thing I’ve watched in awhile.
Thanks. On slower days I have time to watch a few things and will share them in the future if you like them. 🙂
Yes. So great. 😊
Okay so we know she has an active imagination. IMPOSSIBLE that she modeled in the early days of Studio 54. Unless she is over 70. She’s a nutter, that’s for sure. I just needed to say that about Studio 54.
I appreciate the info. I am unaware that any actual “modeling” ever happened at Studio 54. Sonja has a lot of tall tales bless her heart.
Yeah, the Studio 54 stuff is a bit messy. Sonja and I are around the same age. She is aging herself with the Studio 54 mentions. I remember The Limelight being the place to go when we were in college.
OMG Are you from Atlanta? I was at the Limelight a LOT and barely old enough to drive. Actually rearended someone on I -75 on my way back home one night. It was a car full of guys coming home from Spring break. Somehow my very strict mother let all the guys sleep in the basement. My BFF was having sort of a meltdown and went home. I had VIP admission at a LOT of places. I forget the names. I never had to wait in line, probably because I usually went by myself. And there was also a place that had prime rib night or something early and it was free with the card, so I went there looking for “rich men.” lol. It’s a miracle I survived high school.
Okay now….is this the limelight from 1983 forward??? If so I tended bar in PCB FL and met/slept with a real to god gigilo who worked at Marta in Atlanta. He begged me to visit atlanta so I did. He tried to get me to move there and work at if I remember this limelight. TT you have activated a wild memory for an old lady this morning. Wowzer
The Limelight was in Disco Kroger Shopping center. I went there a lot in High School especially on Bare As You Dare night. I would change into a slutty swimsuit with fishnet stockings and heels in the car. My parents would DIE if they new that me and my best friend were not in fact coming home from going to see On Golden Pond when we got into that car accident on the Interstate.
You’re absolutely correct about Studio 54 and Limelight (NYC). I’m a year younger than Sonia. I arrived in Manhattan in 1987 at 22. Studio 54 was already over. It opened in ‘77 and first closed in 1980. Reopened for a couple of years around ‘84 under new ownership (as an uncool, already over spot) and closed for good in 1986. My husband (who died 5 yrs ago at 71) was a big Studio 54 guy in his younger days. Sonia, like me, is simply too young for this story to be true unless she was a tween at the time. Limelight, Nell’s, Tunnel Club and Palladium were the spots open in play at that time in NY. Sonja’s lies annoy me way too much. 🙂
The Bank, the Tunnel, Limelight and Nell’s—that was the circuit when I was in college in NYC in early 90s. They were all gross as hell. 😂
Yeah, it opened as a nightclub in 1977, and it was closed in 1980. Re-opened, blah blah blah. Sonja was born in November 1963, if you believe Wikipedia. Sonja has a fanciful imagination.
As for why she and Morgan divorced, she never really says. Why were the “forced” to divorce, if neither wanted it? You can’t believe a word she says.
I needed this today. Thank you. I love Sonja (although I am worried about her, in general) and adore Josh Flagg.
It’s been great to watch Josh’s life evolve. He reminded me so much of my brother back when he was drinking and was such a mess- but I was always rooting for him. My brother’s story ended rather tragically and it makes my heart happy to see Josh come out on top. Miss Grandma Edith.
New Yorker here and there was no modeling at Studio 54. Unless that’s the code word for “escorts”. Also .. I believe she didn’t get alimony. Child support is probably through a trust and very regulated. I went through a divorce with someone older, wealthy and a name. He had a disgusting lawyer (still does) and in NY, it who your lawyer knows. She was probably pressured into some sort of agreement. I’m sure they had a prenup and he had all the control. I just went through court during the pandemic (via zoom) and took a beating, yet again.
Dude if she was a model in Studio 54 means she is at least 65?
I don’t think there WERE models at Studio 54. Also according to Google she is 57 and I feel like that is probably younger than her real age. 🙂 She has a lot of delusions about her youth.
Also, I highly doubt that Morgan proposed on their first date and she took him to buy a four carat yellow diamond. Why have we never seen that ring? Also, back in the olden days a one carat or perhaps two was considered huge. And even today you can get a four carat yellow diamond for around $40K….
Omg this was the funniest thing I have seen in ages. Maybe these 2 can have their own show together
I went to the Limelight. It kind of creeped me out being an old church, I think.
I love Josh. Looking forward to new season.
Fun interview.
This Limelight was in Atlanta and was not in a church. 🙂
Oh, ok. I was referring to the one on Manhattan
The Limelight was a very famous club in NYC that was an old church. They had goth nights called ‘Slimelight’.
My friend danced in one of the hanging cages.
If you were anywhere near NYC in the late 80s to mid 90s, you knew.
THANK YOU BIG MAMMA! ::said in Kim Z’s screech::
This was a half hour of my life that I didn’t even know I needed. I love these two so much and I do think they need a show. Please post more!
(And I don’t think she meant she modeled in the early days of studio 54–she meant in the early days of Sonja Morgan 😂)
The Limelight, The Gold Club, Petras, those were the days. Now I have a teenager of my own, and I can’t say a damn thing. Lol
SO good! Sonja..bless her…She has amazing legs!
As batshit crazy she can get, this is the most focused I’ve ever seen her and I love her talking about being a mom. But what percent of those stories are true?!
