On tonight’s Family Karma recap we will discuss the romantic proposal that Amrit has planned for Nicholas. He’s rented a lovely boat for the occaision. But will Nicholas figure out the plan before the proposal? Brian’s dad gives him sound advice regarding Monica 2.0 But will he listen? And Amrit and Vishal go into business making tiny men’s underwear. Sounds like a fun, drama-free episode. It’s like a palate cleanser after RHOBH.
Christmas Trees and… Underpants?
I love this show. Um, there are very loud explosions happening outside. Not like fireworks. More like I dunno, power boxes exploding? But obviously I still have power. Anyway, it is Christmas time in Miami! I love Christmas. Um, now there is a lot of plane activity at the military base. That is always unsettling. Brian trying to get the tree in the house is hysterical. More explosions. Brian has told his immediate family he was laid off due to Covid. But no one else. Especially, Monica 2.0.
Meanwhile, Amrit and Vishal have decided to go into the men’s underwear business. Because, why not? Vishal models all the underwear for Amrit. The underpants are supposed to make their butts look bigger. They order coffee and a guy comes up to deliver coffee. He’s cool with it. But with the cameras there they are certain he thinks they are making gay porn. I cannot do this scene justice. It’s so funny and I’m loving it. They decide to scrap the tiny underwear and try and include some briefs that the straight boys would prefer. Amrit shares that he is nervous to propose to Nicholas. Vishal says things are going “fantastic” with Richa. I’ll be the judge of that.
Dating Is Hard!
I love Anisha, but I hate that she has so many scenes with Shaan. I am the world’s biggest fag hag, but this gay is just a huge no from me. Nonetheless, Anisha is stuck filming with him in a golf cart no less. She is once again talking about her dating life with him which I get. He’s her onscreen GBF, but something just rubs me wrong with this guy. I think he is using her for camera time. And she needs him because the other girls… um… don’t seem that close to her. Bali’s party planner has set her up with a hot guy from NYC who is in town on business. They are going out for drinks. The golf cart dies and they have to push it home. LOL.
Monica 1.0 takes her new boyfrined Rish to her mom’s house and they are both nervous. She warns him that her mom will hate him. Rish and Monica used to have playdates. Monica’s mom feeds all sorts of animals in her backyard. Her mom refers to Rish as her “future son-in-law.” For some reason they decided to eat outside in the shitty back yard where they just fed the birds. Monica gets pooped on. She has to go was up so her mom takes the opportunity to ask when they are getting married.
Dating Is Hard Part II
Nicholas asked Amrit’s parents if he could come by to talk to his mother and they are curious about the reason. Amrit’s mom tells his dad to keep his trap shut about the engagement. She has of course made food for Nicholas. Apparently, Nicholas is worried that he may need to do something to motive Amrit to want to get married. He is ready and he isn’t sure Amrit is. Nicholas says he would have proposed a long time ago but he is waiting for Amrit to be ready. Amrit’s mom doesn’t know how to respond. His mom says he has a lot on his plate right now. She has no idea what the future holds. Nicolas’s parents are not accepting of his sexuality. Amrit’s mom is such a treasure.
Amrit and Vishal have drinks with Shaan. UGH. Amrit stupidly shares that he is going to propose to Nicholas with Shaan. And telling Anisha is probably dumb too. Bali arrives looking hot as usual. The group has a great time in what is almost a bachelor party before he is even engaged. I guess it’s a pre engagement get together.
Dating Is Hard Part III
Brian talks to his dad about Monica 2.0. Brian seems to want to meet her parents and have the parents get together. Why? He is not ready to marry her. He hasn’t even told her he doesn’t have a job. His dad says it is nowhere near the time for him to have a conversation with some girl’s father. Nor is it time for the families to meet. They have been dating for six months!
Is Anisha really going to wear jeans and a t-shirt on her blind date? Maybe I am old school but I always used to wear a casual dress on first dates. Oh wait she did change into a not so casual dress which is good because it is a nighttime date for cocktails. He date is indecisive about his cocktail order. I don’t like him already. It’s awkward, but I don’t think it is Anisha’s fault. I do love that he tried (sadly, unsuccessfully) of getting Taco Bell Mexican pizza back on the menu. That’s points. And he is cute. I like him for Anisha.
Finally It’s Time To Get On The Engagement Boat!
Pretty much all the photos we got for this episode were on the engagement boat and it looks like it is all happening in the last ten minutes! Bali and Richa are both there to support! Bali has brought paté and half brown and half white cookies. It’s a very early boat ride. Supposedly, this is Bali’s trip. In an interview we learn that no one can pronounce Veuve Cliquot. For the record it is View-ve Click Qua. Moving on. I thought everyone would be there for the proposal. It’s just the two girls, the soon to be betrothed and Vishal.
Amrit is super nervous. Under the guise of couples photos, Amrit and Nicholas pose for photos. But they are really filming the proposal. It was so sweet. He said yes! He was totally faking his surprise. Then he tells Nicholas he can propose to him right now. LOL. Is that the way it works? He gives him a ring to propose to him with and he does. Awwwww. The whole thing was beautiful. Everyone is happy for them.
