Open Forum: Happy Fourth Of July!

Last night wasn’t too bad. Banjo had some Benadryl and I just gave him a dose for tonight which I that I will amend in about six hours. The law lets the damn people set things off a lot later on NYE and Fourth of July. How do people who live near amusement parks, like Disney places even have dogs? That shit happens every night? Someone VERY close is already have a huge party It’s going to be a lot.

I Banjo and I are just chillin’ in the house. I feel like he hasn’t been out all day and doesn’t have much interest in doing so. I think I might have let him out once? I’m watching what I think is the finale of Naked and Afraid XL. It’s my weekend watch and I am going to miss it so much! At least it is a three hour show! So we are just chillin’ over here. I had a lot going on this week so I didn’t even think about going to get a hot dog. I’m sort of hoping the good neighbors might grill out hotdogs and pass me one over the fence. lol. I don’t even think they have a grill. The other neighbors have the privacy fence up already (they’re fancy, lol) so I can’t just so happen to be outside when they are grilling. I think I have the night off of recapping right? Nothing really airing tonight because of the holiday?

Okay, back to my show and spending quality time with the boy. Am I missing any good tea? Send me a link to my email tamaratattles on that Gee Mail. Or chat about it below if it is not earthshattering. lol. Love you all! Stay stay safe!

Happy 4th of July to all my american friends. I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable day/night. I wish all parents of a fur baby the sanity that the fireworks bring into their lives. Has anyone ever tried or knows someone who has used or tried those Thunder shirts that have been advertised a lot lately. TT I wish you safe and sound night. But maybe have a little nip of something in case you may need it tonight. Oh and yes I’m canadian. lol

The thundervest did not work on my little one HOWEVER it worked for my four legged niece who has become afraid of firecrackers. I think it’s worth a try. Happy Independence Day fellow Americans! Thank you for the well wishes Canadian friends!

I had Thundershirts for all my dogs and none of them worked. Have you tried CBD oil for dogs? We got that for our little one. He is 10lbs and we give him a drop to relax him.

We tried a thunder shirt for our German shepherd. Blaze wasn’t very big, only about 100 pounds, but he was so wiggly when I tried to put it on him I accidentally caught the Velcro closures on his boy parts. Needless to say he did not like the experience and we could not convince him to try it again. My friends has 3 dogs and they all feel better wearing them!!
Hope Banjo, and all the fluffy friends can feel better tonight!

Happy 4th to everyone. It was fairly quiet in the neighborhood last night — quieter than in the past. Roux doesn’t like loud noises so I’m pretty sure we’ll have a sleepless night tonight. According to news sources, Erika Jayne was seen boarding a private jet yesterday. That’s not too bright and sure won’t help her in the law suits that have been filed.

The Woo Cats, my clowder who took their dad’s last name, are of mixed opinions on the Booms. The last fusillade was one yard over while kitties lounged on the back deck, door open – before the echo cleared my youngest had bolted to go under the dining room table, Old Man Poe went to earth under the coffee table and the calico ran under the bed. Romeo, a fat flame-point Siamese also recognized INSIDE was good and went to stand by the food dishes. The other two ran out further in the yard. Yeesh. Now, I wonder if any of ya’ll follow the antics of Prince Harry and Meghan?

I am not as crazy about her as I once was. Once upon a time, she was a breath of fresh air and even though she hung onto Harry like a limpet I gave it a pass as an expression of True Love 🙂 Now it seems more like an expression of control. There are inaccuracies in their statements (was Archie’s first word crocodile? waffle? Grandma DIana? ) – there are more. Just some stuff that seems shady. And why no pics of a growing Archie, or new little Lili? I believe the Jolie-Pitt crew charged for pics of their kids and donated the proceeds. M and H have never said anything about WHY they don’t share these pictures.

I would assume they want to protect the privacy of the kids as much as they can. These kids do not receive protection like William’s kids so why expose them to the public? They are not going to be king or queen. Imagine what the press would do if they could easily identify those kids. I am old fashioned and believe that all kids should not have a media footprint until they are in their teens and only if they choose to. There are lots of celebrities who don’t allow public photos of their kids. You can even stop schools from releasing photos of kids so this is nothing new.

When I was applying for National Certification I had to submit a video of myself (UGH!) teaching a lesson. I was doing an author’s study of Vera B. Williams and Cherries and Cherry Pits is a great book. I remember having to look everywhere for cherries because they weren’t quite in season. Anyway, one of the repetitive phrases (a focus of my lesson plan) was something like “eating cherries and spitting out the pits.” And each kid had a cherry to eat ever time I read the phrase.

My point, and do have one, is EACH student’s parent had to sign an agreement to be part of the video. You cannot photo graph any student without parental written consent.

In other news, I did receive national certification which turned to be sort of expensive mistake (although it did come with a pay raise). The process is expensive and there is like a 30% pass rate. So even though I really didn’t mention it unless asked all the people who tried and failed hated me. One of them was a “math…consultant” I forget what they called that irrelevant position, she could barely add. She had tried several time to pass and never did. I somehow because that teacher who thinks she is better than everyone else. It was almost as bad as the time my Team Leader (who was 12 years old and fresh out of college) became absolutely enraged at me because she found out I went to St. Lucia for Spring Break. Why did this enrage her? Apparently because she was getting married and wanted to go for her honeymoon and could not afford it. And she felt it was a couples resort and she could not imagine why I went by myself. LOL. The owners wondered too and were convince I was a hotel reviewer so they treated me like gold. lol. Sorry, for the ramble I got WAY drunk last night during all the drama.

If I called are emailed any of you with stupid shit. I sincerely apologize.

I like them both. I think it’s horrendous what the palace media machine has done to her, There is always some “royal expert” coming up with terrible stories about them both. Please. If anyone does have information it’s been told to them in order to make Kate and Will look wonderful. The press there has always gone after Meghan, She got castigated for EVERYTHING, sometimes the same thing Kate got praised for. That story about “bullying” is a case in point. After M made it known she has receipts, Jason Knauss (sp?),, Will’s mouthpiece, left the palace abruptly and now it’s been put off until 2022. Suuuure Jan! Just my opinion.

The Firm has to work extra hard to convince the public that William and Kate are something special and it is not working. They come across as lazy and vapid. I don’t blame Harry, he has options. Why wait around and play second fiddle when you are never going to be King? He owes no one anything. Personally, I think all the vitriol towards Harry and Megan are to cover up Andrew and Fergie’s antics.

I am not sure Banjo can make it though this night. I’ve given him Benadryl and a CBD gummy and is is finally not hyperventlating but the big shit has not even happened yet.

If you care for the blow by blow you should follow me on Twitter where I am losing my goddamn mind. It is not even 7:30 yet. And please no advice. It’s not like we haven’t done this dozens of times before. But I swear to God if this is what takes him out, Imma kill somebody.

Here’s the link to my Twitter https://twitter.com/TamaraTattles You don’t have to be on Twitter or follow me I don’t think But you should totally do both and not just because my Twitter stock is finally performing.

    1. Fireworks should NOT be allowed in residential areas. My cats are already nervous here in Newport Beach due to morons.
    2. Frankly, here in CA they should be banned due to fire threats.
    3. 99.9% of these idiots have no idea what the 4th is about, why it began etc….

My sweet doggie Dudley was terrified of fireworks. Benadryl and turning on every noise making electronic I had very loud helped. I wore ear plugs:)
Might help Banjo with the added background noise.

I have five cats, and the most nervous one was completely fine. The second most nervous one was running around like a soldier chased by a sniper. I felt so badly for him. Fireworks were canceled in the towns around us and our neighborhood was worse than usual with the boom booms. I dont remember it being this noisy.
I’m feeling a little melancholy, my husband’s uncle (who was like a father to him) died this winter from covid. He was a colonel in the Army and a vet of two wars, and next week there is going to be his funeral at Arlington with military honors. We are going, He was a great man, and I still cannot believe he is gone, It will be nice to see all his kids (7 of them, plus their kids, and their kids…) and the rest of the family but it is going to be hard, too. We are also in charge of my mother-in-law who was his sister, so that will be interesting as well. She is exhausting.

My part of rural America lost the internet for a few days even though I pay big time for it, so I’ve missed seeing all your posts. Good to know about the vests, maybe next year then. Thanks especially to our Northern neighbors and others for all the best wishes

I’ve had three dogs with severe fear of thunder and fireworks. I have a friend who
had a pet bird who had a history of completely freaking out during storms and fireworks fir years. He died during a thunderstorm and his vet said it was due to something akin to a heart attack or stroke caused by extreme stress.

Until you’ve had a pet with this fear and have seen their terror first hand, it’s impossible to imagine. I would go into panic mode myself while at work when storms would arrive and I couldn’t leave or get home soon enough in traffic to be with them. Over the years I have had two dogs claw their way through doors, tear carpet to shreds, etc. it was pitiful and heartbreaking. And was also exhausting to be up with them at up night for hours trying to comfort them and have to be at work early the next morning. BTW, one was a rescue and his previous owners had left him tied outside 24/7 to a doghouse. Neighbors called animal control and reported the owners after they left him outside during a series of tornadoes in their area one afternoon.

My husband and I tried all sorts of over the counter meds such as Benedril and melatonin and nothing helped. Finally my vet put him on a low dose of Prozac daily and Xanax as needed when we know storms or fireworks were eminent. These meds were a life saver for him, he lived to be 15 and his last years more peaceful and less stressful for him due to the meds.

And my sister has had good success using a thunder shirt for her Labrador.

Sorry for all the length of this, but my heart hurts for fearful pets and caring owners who feel helpless.
