I have a lot happening over here. As it turns out Lawn Kid is kind of living here at the moment and he had expired tags from Florida among other issues and I am just trying to keep him alive and apparent;y that is a lot. So if you you could all talk amongst yourseleves that would be great. I am sort of focused on keeping this kid alive and not really even sure where he is right now.

It’s crazy over here. Also my car went in for services today and they never brought it back. So it’s  a full on mess over here.

Just got a new car (turned in my 23 year old bomb) and it’s smarter than me. It speaks a language I don’t yet understand with a 423 page instruction manual/bible I am expected to memorize. If I’d paid a couple thousand dollars more it would have had a built in navigation system but instead it relies on an app on my phone. Thing is my phone is also smarter than me so I now drive with a village of complete strangers speaking their own language to each other. Figured out my headlights last night. After someone in the passenger side told me I was driving without any lights. Ah, progress. Hope your old car makes it back to you safe TT.

Rabicate- reading this made me laugh (in empathy with you). I got a car like this a year ago and felt like I was in hell at first! I’m fully convinced that the world is going to reach a point when it comes to operating things that used to be pretty simple, like tvs and cars, that I’m literally not going to be able to do anything, like drive a car, or even watch tv. The world is being ruled by techies and is becoming so unnecessarily complicated, imop…

oh I feel you! My car is a 2001 and has a normal key, then I had to drive my sister’s car that talks to me doesn’t have a key but some kind of fob thingy that was in her purse in the back seat but carrie the car, what my sister calls her car bad reference if you ask me, you just push a button and ok I’ll just keep my 2001 manual everything car until the wheels fall off or I hit 300K miles. At the rate I put miles on my car I will be dead long before that happens as I’ve put 17K miles on my car in 5 years.

I have fibro and had ZERO reaction from either.

Old trick from Vietnam vet (they got a zillion IM injections), make a fist and make a “bump” by sticking your middle finger knuckle out. After the shot, rub the area vigorously before they put on the lame round bandaid thing. No bump, no sore — or BARELY SORE — area.

I’ve heard that the first shot gets our body ready to fight/make the resistors and the second sends out the army. That’s why more people have a more severe second dose.

It wasn’t sore yesterday. After the first one, it was only a little sore. I did switch arms this time like some people have recommended. I was really tired after the first one. I’ve progressively felt like shit today though after that 2nd one yesterday. I feel weak, shaky, headache, I can tell I have a fever & my normal pains from disc issues, stenosis, etc, has been worse. No nausea like some people have, but food doesn’t really sound good.

I had a fever for three days and was tired for two more, but never, for one moment, did I think I had made a mistake- I felt blessed to finally be mostly protected and able to get my life back! I also live in an area with lots of anti-vaxxers. I recently posted a statement on our neighborhood site that if we don’t reach a percentage of people who are vaccinated in this country, we will never reach herd immunity, and that getting a vaccine is as much for the community (and country) as it is for us as individuals. I caught so much flack it was ridiculous! You’ll feel better soon…

Not sure if it’s been mentioned by anyone else, but just in case anyone is looking for (another) distraction/diversion, this season of Big Brother Canada has been pretty good so far(episodes available at the show website.). Relatively intelligent, articulate (and diverse) cast, twists and turns, had an “Invisible HOH” week, this week has “Fake Double Eviction”, production design of set quite impressive.

So last night, the guy next door was supposed to take Lawn Kid to get his car which for some reason he left at Kroger. He left my house and walked in the opposite direction. Leaving the man next door hanging. Both of us are trying to help this moron but he makes everything so hard. I think I’m just going to wash my hands of it. Every time I help this kid or give him a little bit of cash he disappears. I know the neighbors next door have do so many things for him and he is just disrespectful and disappears. He is generally a nice kid but we can’t seem to get him in a safe place. This stupid car is going to be a problem and I have no idea how he even got a car because he is always broke and homeless. The neighbors and I are both pretty much done with him this time. Sigh.

If he’s been playing you cuz you’ve been nice to him, that’s not on you, that’s on him. You are doing what God tells us to do… Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You. What THEY do with your goodness isn’t up to you. But, you need to be careful. He knows you are a safe place for him but you don’t need him bringing his troubles back to your home!! Just be careful. He’ll be back. He’s like a stray dog or cat that always comes home after his hijinks for some soul needing love that he isn’t getting anywhere else I think.

Yes he does and he also just shows up at the house here and there. I finally got my car back with a $1,500 bill. My car is a 2007 Honda with about 25K miles on it! I clearly never drive it anywhere but I needed all the fluids, front and rear brakes, all the cabin filters and other filters. Lawn Kid washed it for me before it went in so it is clean and back in top condition. So I feel safer on the road now. You know, for those three miles drives to the Publix. 🙂 This headache is unrelenting though.

Counting to a number on the intake of air through your nose ( I usually can only get to 5 or so) then release the breath to that same number through your mouth. It can help you relax and might help the headache. You are such a nice person to help Lawn Kid, please don’t let him take advantage of you……

So Lawn Kid has knocked once and called twice. Then I heard my trashcan being pushed back into the yard. I thought it was the neighbor because she does that for me sometimes. So I opened the door to see if she talked to him. But it was Lawn Kid. I just thanked him for bringing the can in and closed the door. I feel like crap today. I don’t have the headspace to deal with his issues of the day. He is wandering around the neighborhood all hunched over and sad. It’s heartbreaking to watch but I just can’t with him today. Once I start helping him he comes around all the time asking for rides, or food, or money. He has got to figure out how to get his life together.

Lawn boy is getting over on you and your neighbor. You dont want him in your house. IMO, your need to help/save him has warped your normally cautious thinking. He is and will continue to take advantage of you because that is what getting over on you means. You and your neighbor are marks. He takes money and disappears. Doesnt show up when he says he will. I’ve been a mark. It’s an ugly truth when its realized. Cut the string.

By taking him in whenever he shows up, it’s reinforcing a pattern that is doing him no good. He needs actual services to have a chance to change his life- whether or not he chooses to avail himself, being near ATL, there must be all sorts of social service/homeless services and help. He likely can’t find these on his own, but If he could be connected to professionals who are trained in offering the kind of help he needs, maybe he’d have a chance at some sort of life. He’s using you because that’s all he knows, but that pattern needs to be broken by connecting him to professional help. After that, you can only lead the horse to water…

Yeah, I know. He seems like are relatively decent kid. Does seem to drink or do drugs at all. Is very polite and grateful for help. However, my help is a never ending hole. He’s just moving around from place to place. I am currently worried he decided to drive back to Pensacola with expired tags and heavily tinted windows. I tried talking to him about the dangers, since he is somewhat oblivious since he never sees the news on TV. I told him not to go to any protests. He said he wouldn’t be because he thinks “protesting seems to make things worse.”

I tried to look for homeless housing for him and other services before. I think my neighbors will do better than that. I believe they have a program through his church.

I basically shut the door in his face yesterday. 🙁

Update from the new neighbors. Lawn Kid didn’t go to get the car because he got a ticket for the expired license. Now he has to go to court. She is trying to tell him he needs to pay the ticket and get the license renewed and he won’t have to go to court. I guess he is out just wandering the streets. She says when he comes over he just wants to talk and rarely asked for money. But she understands that we may be doing too much.
