Good Morning! My plan to just stay up I guess two days ago and go to bed at reasonable hour has failed. I basically stayed up two nights in a row and finally fell in bed this morning and once again slept all day. I’ll going back to not trying to fix my schedule and see if that helps. But I literally woke up about two hours before this show starts and am rushing to walk Banjo in my sleep, make him rice (we both have um) well we both need a bland menu today. So I am going to rush to get prepared for this RHONJ recap in my sleep.
You Can’t Sit With Us!
We start tonight still at the shore and all of the husbands are there. Why does Jennifer need her husband to literally put shoes on her feet? Such symbolism. Margaret and Jennifer still hate each other after Jennifer accused Margaret’s Joe of saying he had heard the rumors in town about Evan. The whole crew goes out to dinner. Due to Covid guidelines they have to have two tables. So there is a girls’ table and a guys’ table. They are also outdoors. There are still quite a few people there though. When the waiter comes, Joe Gorga orders for the whole table. And they all just let him. Is that weird? Maybe because he is hosting? That must be it. Teresa Gorga order for the girls. Dolores threw in a steak.
The Giudices are going to have a memorial for Nonno. I’ll probably fast forward through that. Is nothing private on these shows? It seems like it is time to start the fake Melissa and Joe Gorga’s marriage problems storyline. Yay? But first, we need to continue the Margaret storyline with her Joe and Jennifer. The guys are watching the girls bitch about nothing like it is a sporting event. It’s only a matter of time before they start laying bets.
Stand By Me!
After a very subdued dinner, at least for “housewives” it’s time for everyone to pile back in the vans and head home. The script says that Joe Gorga is upset because Melissa walked to the vans with the girls instead of waiting for him. But I am distracted by two things. Is that like a bunch of dry cleaning or something in front of Joe and Melissa? You knew this was going to be the shot. Why not move it to the other van or something? But the real story is the body language between Jackie and Evan. Sure they are sitting close together. But they are both on their own phones totally ignoring each other. That is the REAL marital problems.
But back to the fake marital problems….Joe says that Melissa has “turned into this separate business woman” and he’s not getting enough attention. He’s not even sitting next to her. He’s all the way at the other end of the seat. Melissa says he cannot handle her being a successful business woman. What exactly is Melissa’s business? Is she still somehow connected to Envy? Has she invented Skinny Girl? Oh I have news about that too. I am so behind. And forgetful. Melissa says Joe is spoiled and can’t handle not being the center of attention. Back at the house, the guys comfort Joe and the girls comfort Melissa.
Peace & Harmony In Jersey?
The next morning it’s a beautiful day and it looks like we are staying around for it. There is still tension between the Gorgas. Melissa has such a great body. I notice this as she gets a donut delivery. Let’s see if she eats one. I don’t even think she has had work done. Life is not fair. 🙂 Next, the kids arrive for the memorial service. The grown ups take the boat to lunch. Joe announces that he and Melissa had sex that morning and they are all good now. Typical man. The restaurant is gorgeous and right on the water. It looks like the are going to drink their lunch.
Evan chats with the group! I’ve never seen him this involved in conversation. He’s multi-lingual and apparently speaks Spanish and Turkish and probably Italian? He lived in Argentina for a while when he was younger. He jokes that he needs to go back and visit all his kids there. Apparently, he was quite the ladies man. MmmmmHmmmm. Teresa and her brother seem to have made up and are being playful. Everyone seems quite happy. Can we get through a meal without a brawl? What the hell is happening now? Teresa, Jackie and Jennifer are all discussing the Gorga marriage like grown adults? Did production medicate everybody? Melissa has concerns about Joe’s phone continuing to blow up. The guys are pranking her!
Celebration of Life By Bravo
Bravo went all out for this celebration of Nonno! I think Joe’s whole problem on this episode was that he was thinking about his dad. Maybe he did need a little bit more attention from Melissa for real. All of Teresa and Joe’s kids are there. Gia gives a touching speech. Everyone is wearing white. There are pictures of the dearly departed everywhere. Several guests brought original paintings to Teresa and Joe. It’s quite lovely. The catering is insane. The service is right on the water. Two swans magically appear on the water. All the guests drop rose petals in water. There was a lot of old footage of Nonno. It was very sweet.
What did we just watch? I don’t know what the title of this episode/recap is all about. There was zero real drama this week. It was a lovely episode. Wow.
