It’s a Holy week Summer House recap and if this gang ever needed Jesus, it’s tonight! We pick up where we left off last week with the big fight between Luke, Carl and Kyle. Luke leaves the house while Kyle and Carl drunkenly stumble around yelling about who’s tougher. We get a great shot of Lindsay tackling Kyle to the floor in order to stop him from fighting outside. Xena Warrior Princess only wishes! Carl breaks down over the events of the evening on the phone to his dad. He drank too much and is angry about losing his brother. His grief is still so raw, it’s hard to watch.
Don’t Use The Force Luke
The next day, Carl and Kyle discuss Luke. Kyle feels he owes Luke an apology for provoking the situation. Carl is disappointed in himself for drinking so much and losing his temper the way he did. Ownership and maturity look good on these guys! It made me happy to see it. Kyle and Carl call Luke. Luke agrees to come to the house to talk.
Juxtaposed with that Hannah, Paige and Ciara gossiping in bed. I don’t like this trio. I wish Ciara hadn’t aligned herself with Hannah and Paige. Amanda, Danielle and Lindsay lay out by the pool. Amanda wants to get to a point of forgiving and forgetting with Luke. Lindsay plays it smart by not voicing a strong opinion on it. She wants the “psychic said I slept with Luke” target off her back so she won’t stick up so vocally for Luke.
I Came, I Saw, I Made It Awkward.
I know it’s Covid and we’re in a pandemic but I’m BEGGING the producers to stay out of storylines. We don’t need a fake “Is Lindsay pregnant??” because we have social media. She’s not. Danielle is the type of friend we all want in real life pregnancy scares though. Luke comes to the house and asks Kyle to meet him at the end of the driveway. He wants to ensure zero gang ups or snoops listening in. They have a nice talk with both men taking accountability for their part in the fight. They agree to never let it get to that point again.
Luke comes back into the house. He talks privately to Carl, who is also contrite and apologetic. He wants a brother relationship with Luke. Carl genuinely wants Luke to be ok. You can see the love there and it’s very sweet. I love and adore Carl Radke this season. Never saw that coming. Luke awkwardly joins the gang at the dinner table. The group looks uncomfortable. Luke gives a long soliloquy about how he’s sorry for the anger he displayed the other night. He’s embarrassed and ashamed. It seemed very sincere. Even Paige kept her snark down to really listen to Luke. Amanda thanks Luke for being so vulnerable. She was touched as was the whole table. He apologizes directly to Ciara and Hannah. They seem to accept it. All’s well that ends well.
Wish Version Of Sixteen Candles
The following night they all go out to dinner! How exciting. They are able to eat dinner outside which is a nice change of scenery. Hannah announces her boyfriend Des is coming to the house. Thankfully not even that can bring the vibe down. Everyone has fun. Carl gives Amanda a second engagement anniversary re-proposal. They go home to find Stephen/Stravy on the back lawn spelling out “I Heart U” with candles and flowers. Lindsay is shocked. I’m shocked too but only because I forgot about him. Yes he’s been sending her flowers daily but I thought he would just fade away. Silly me.
Next week on Summer House recap: Stephen/Stravy is still around. Upon meeting Des, Kyle finally figures out that Hannah wanted him all along-then settled for his dad. Keeping it ultra classy, Hannah and Des seemingly have sex in Kyle’s bathroom. Blech.
Thank you for reading! I’ve been dealing with painful stomach stuff and my baby is turning 4 Saturday. It’s been an emo week lol. I apologize if this recap isn’t as sharp as usual but I had to come through for you! See you all in the comments. Cannot wait to hear what you think about Des darkening the doors of our Summer House! I’m also on Twitter so please give a follow PopCultureKelly. Thank you Tamara for the shout out on there! Happy Easter and Passover. Sending love and good wishes to you all!
