Last night was my sing to Banjo night and it was two hours of American Idol (I learned the lyrics to Watermelon Sugar the millionth time the duets sang the song) and two hours of The Voice. This lead to a lot of wine drinking (I’m officially out of wine) and a bit of drunk dialing. So the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Recap didn’t happen. But I am ready for it now.
Let The Drinking Begin!
We begin with the charter guests kicked off the boat and the crew disinfecting the entire boat. One of the guests had a high fever. The doctor says that the guests all tested negative for Covid. However, one guest is still showing symptoms so the can’t come back on board. Now they have to pack up all of the guests belongings and get them off the boat. The next guests will arrive in a couple of days. Meanwhile, Gary tells production that is was a mistake fucking Sydney, because now he has to work with her. He’s a genius this one. To the shock of everyone, the crew is actually getting a tip for this oddball charter. They left them $5,000 for their one day stay. That’s $500 each. They seemed glad to be getting anything.
So, they have the night off to drink and hook up. Gary already has is sites set on Alli. The guys have a guy chat where Jean-Luc says he has never has a long term relationship. In fact, his longest relationship was three weeks. Where did production find the poor examples of men? Colin is the only decent guy on the boat other than Captain Glenn. I’m surprised that Gary is a mama’s boy. Gary and Alli start flirting right away. Sydney is already pissed. Gary tell Colin that Alli was the girl he wanted to hook up with since the beginning. I have a feeling the next episode we will see him moving on to Dani.
Truth Or Dare?
Nothing good ever comes out of playing Truth or Dare. So, of course that is what is about to happen. Alli and Sydney do a full on makeout session as a dare. Jean-Luc admits he is attracted to Dani. Alli and Gary sort of head off on their own. The girls start going to bed. Sydney throws herself at Gary who totally blows her off. Then she basically crawls into Gary’s bunk. None of his cabin mates are happy about this. Gary is not happy about it either and tells her they are not doing anything.
The next morning, the boat is totally trashed. Sydney slinks back to her bunk after asking Gary’s permission. Gary tells Sydney that he’s just not that into her. It was a one time thing. He just wants to be friends. Speaking of just friends, the next charter guests include a married couple who were famous in England for being the first same sex marriage who used a surrogate to have a baby. The two men are now divorced but still close friends and live together with their respective boyfriends and their FIVE children. Both couples and ALL FIVE CHILDREN will be on the charter. Wow. There will also be a proposal. This sounds like a catastrophe.
Alli gets terrible new from her father. Her grandfather has passed away. Despite being “friend zoned” Sydney is not giving up on her pursuit of Gary.
Party of Nine???
The charter guests arrive all in very fancy suits. Even the ten year old twin boys are in suits! There is one female older daughter and all the rest are male. Barrie is one of the primaries and I can already tell he is a handful. Nastasha tells Barrie that she thinks most meals should be family style. That might have worked until she said the word buffet. That causes a strong negative response from all the guests. They all seem to have a crush on Jean-Luc and want him on service. This is a terrible idea. Also, once the sails go up the boat start leaning really hard making all the things in the kitchen and everywhere tumble. Also, the guests are all wasted.
Barrie fell in love with his daughter, Saffron’s ex-boyfriend, Scott who is half his age. That is what broke up tha marriage. This is a scandalous group of charter guests. No wonder Saffron seems kind of bitchy. Nastasha sends out a huge bowl of shellfish and Barrie says that is his serving. This has to be fake, right? There are multiple kinds of mashed potatoes and someone asked for fries. The dishes all come out at different times. This is pissing off the everyone. Barrie is the last to be served. Saffron is is done eating and Barrie has not been served yet. One of guests says his food was cold.
Next time, Daisy has the nerve to complain about Natasha to Captain Glenn. The girl is literally working miracles here! Also, there is a problem with the tender. These guests are awful, but really, really interesting.
