Apologies to Kelly and the readers about my delay in getting this up. I’ve got a lot going on here and between all the current drama, and my allergies? cold? whatever? All I want to do is sleep. So sorry totally forgot about this.
It’s time for another Summer House recap! Thank you all for welcoming me back so lovingly last week. I will respond to all comments, I promise. If you are anything like me, you are still reeling from the Meghan Markle/Prince Harry/Oprah interview. If you haven’t already, do yourself a favor and read Tamara’s recap. Bring popcorn and boxing gloves because it gets feisty! Tonight’s Summer House episode was nowhere near as enthralling as the Oprah interview. Carl doesn’t come back until the end of tonight’s episode and his absence was very felt. It’s so 2021 that Carl has become the backbone of the house. Strange times my friends, strange times.
Spreadsheets Are Not Sexy
We pickup with Lindsay learning of Stephen’s departure. I know people have strong opinions about Lindsay so I’m going to take this opportunity to make mine clear: I like Lindsay. She’s stunningly beautiful. She has a good heart. She’s flawed. She has a shit ton of abandonment issues. She can be self centered. She’s smart, independent and strong. I feel her biggest problem in relationships is that she dates beneath her. By “beneath her” I mean that in an emotional way. She dates men who cannot keep up with her emotional needs, which are aplenty.
Her mother abandoning her shaped who she is. I believe she will meet a great man someday who can meet her needs: Stephen isn’t it. Stephen seems to regret leaving her so here comes the barrage of texts, flowers and a POWERPOINT to woo her back. Because nothing says romance like an 8 slide powerpoint. Who says romance is dead? I still have popcorn leftover and my boxing gloves ready so I’m ready for y’all Lindsay haters!
Let’s Drink To Anger Management
Speaking of haters, Hannah and Kyle LOATHE each other. They bickered throughout the episode but where does this anger come from? Example: Paige and Hannah tried to watch a show in their bedroom while the rest of the house partied. The music was loud so PAIGE texted the group and asked them to turn the music down a bit.
Kyle got pissed and fixated on HANNAH. He didn’t address Paige about it at all. Why? This season I find Kyle to be angrier than usual. He’s stressed about not having Loverboy product to distribute, which is understandable. But I feel like the anger he has, especially towards Hannah, seems disproportionate. Hannah doesn’t help the situation by being incendiary. He’s passive aggressive, she’s instigative. Paige nails it when she says both Kyle and Hannah want to be the center of attention, they both want to be right and they want the other person to be VERY wrong. Amanda feels torn because she thinks both Kyle and Hannah are wrong. It’s going to be a long summer for this crew.
Carl Returns To The Summer House
Carl comes home and everyone is relieved and happy to have him home. He now has a beard which he rocks. Not to be shallow but he looks really, really good. He says his parents came together for the first time in years. I’m so glad he was able to be with them so they could all support each other. It’s great to have him back.
Still to come on Summer House recap: Amanda declares she’s ready to get off of birth control. Lindsay has a pregnancy scare. Hannah’s boyfriend Des comes to the house. Paige says that Luke and Lindsay slept together. Lindsay blows up at the girls. Carl and Luke have a physical fight. Looks so good! Thank you all again for reading. Let’s discuss further in the comments!
