Finally ready for this MAFS recap. Things are sort of nuts in real life these days. But I am ready for what has become the Chris show. I hope we get more time with the other couples, especially the ones that have a chance at making it. Also, I am ready to get out of Las Vegas. I can’t believe it is only day four of marriage.
Girls Day & A Guys Day
They can’t even get through a honeymoon with out need to go out with the girls or out with the guys? I get that it is production but the couples needs as much couples time as possible at this point. It’s day FOUR! Nevertheless, the guys are off to learn how to shoot craps. The girls appear be learning how to make drinks. Erik tells the guys he is over the moon about Virginia. He says everything is perfect. The guys think Erik is drunk. Virgina’s review is not as glowing. She’s has issues with his stance on not being friends with guys. Plus they have different political views, he’s conservative and she’s more liberal. Haley is struggling with Jacob. Clara says Ryan is her perfect husband. Except for the part where he has never told anyone he loves them.

All the girls are worried about Paige. Paige says hopefully it can’t get any worse. Chris tells the guys that Paige is his priority. Chris gets pissy when Erik tells him he really needs to man up for Paige. Good GRIEF! Chris is an idiot.
Haley & Jacob
Haley tells Jacob that she is used to her freedom and she is not the clingy type. Jacob wants to know how much physical interaction she is comfortable with. He using hand holding as an example. She says she is “trying to get there. Oh they have already had sex. He feels like she hasn’t really warmed up to him since. Yikes! She’s not really communicating with him much.

On the very last night of the honeymoon, Haley tells Jacob she wants to have drinks with the other girls. He’s fine with it. Since dinner with everyone was a disaster, he never got to eat. So he goes down to grab a bite. Then he sees that everyone is downstairs husbands and wives. She lied to him because she didn’t want him there. That was hurtful. This marriage isn’t going to survive at this rate. I feel so sad for Jacob. That was a shit thing to do to him. Apparently, everyone bolted when they saw him. Who does that?
Paige & Chris
Chris tells Paige he appreciates the grace she has regarding their situation. He says it has not gone unnoticed. Is it me or does Chris mumble? I miss half of what he is saying. Apparently, he is not going to be willing to bond with her dog or help with his care. Chris is worried her dog will chew on his shoes. Then he tells her that he doesn’t believe in joint accounts. She thinks there should be one that the both contribute to for household expenses. He also claims he makes four times as much as she does. So fine. Let him pay for everything, I say.

As these two pack to head back home, Chris admits that he has considered going back to the pregnant ex. He has concerns about raising a child in two separate homes. He has been having conversations about this with the ex. Chris says that he still loves her. Oh, for fucksake. He doesn’t want another man raising his kid. Paige tells production she is done. Then she tells Chris she is done. Somehow, Chris is trying to turn things around on Chris. This asshole talks out of both sides of his mouth. Paige is back on board to stay married.
Virginia & Erik
Erik is worried about Virginia’s constant drinking. Virginia says that she and her friends go out drinking every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. She wants him to do that with her. Surely the “experts” could have found a better match for Erik. The next day, Virginia and Erik, go to ride ATVS with Paige and Chris as well as Clara and Ryan. Clara remains very concerned about Paige. Virginia and Pages discuss their concerns with Chris. Chris says their concern is fake, especially from Virginia and Erik. Erik shows up to protect Virginia because he is getting a bit hostile. Chris calls Virginia a drunkard.

Clara ends up in tears. Erik, Virginia and Clara go to comfort Paige. Chris turns things all the way and basically tells them not to talk to his wife. Poor Paige has to apologize for Chris. But it doesn’t end there. Chris tells us he is going to make the van ride home a living hell. Paige is humiliated and apologizing for him again. This guy needs to just ride on.
Briana & Vincent
Briana’s family warned Vincent that she is bossy. She is really annoying. Poor Vincent says he is trying to work on patience. Briana accuses Vincent of not paying attention sometimes. Then, Briana told Vincent that he annoyed her today. She’s annoying all the time. Vincent waits until the cameras were gone to address Briana’s “assertiveness.” The next day they go indoor “sky diving” and things don’t seem to be fully resolved. They loved it. It looks dumb to me.

The Final Dinner
That night at the final dinner, Paige apologizes to the group again. She thanks them all for support. Chris tries to make it all about Chris. He asked Paige to pray for him. Sigh. He gives Paige a big public apology. No one seems to be buying it. He apologizes to Ryan and Clara. Clara also apologizes. Erik and Virginia arrive late again. Erik comes in hot and tells Chris that he can’t allow him to ever speak to his wife that way again. Chris can’t just apologize, he just keeps escalating the situation. Erik says he is taking Virginia back to the room. As they are getting up, Chris jumps up like he wants to fight. Vincent has to get up and physically restrain Chris. Erik and Virginia leave.

Ryan chastises Clara a bit for running her mouth. Clara didn’t take it well. Jacob tries check in with Haley. But she is not really communicating with her. He is struggling because she is very guarded and not receptive. Clara says something is just not clicking for her. These two are not getting along at all. It’s day five.
Vincent walks Chris outside. Vincent is taking Chris’s side. So does Briana. WTF is wrong with these people? Even Paige is sticking up for him!
Next week, the drama escalates for everyone as they all move in together.
OMG, the entire time I was thinking WTF is wrong with these people and here you are saying it so there has to be more of us. Chris needs to be kicked off the show and they need a do-over for Paige, but she needs to backbone up and tell him to fuck off. Jacob is strange. Is he just nervous or what? Virginia doesn’t deserve Erik. I dunno, after a while they all sort of start blending into one big pile of WTF is wrong with all you??
Well stated Gigi! Chris only wants to woo Paige when she’s done with him! Paige is a smart, lovely woman & God has given her so many signs – to leave! She definitely deserves another match. Sad to see Erik drinking so much to match up with Virginia. I am warming up to Jacob, but he & Hailey are NOT a good match. I like Clara & Ryan, but see some cracks forming. The best hope for a good match is Brianna & Vincent.
I sure hope Chris leaves soon!
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one that thought Chris was acting ridiculous. I am not sure why Vincent and Brianna agreed with him. I like Paige, but that will end soon if she keeps on with him. Please!
I need some clarification on the Haley/Jacob situation. Did the husbands also bail on Jacob? How rude! I somehow like him. It’s because he’s a little bit of a dork. I like that.
Chris was rude to call Virginia a drunkard. She just likes to drink. Haha!! I would rather be a drunkard than a fuck face like Chris.
I’m liking jacob better too. His communication with Haley is direct, honest, and sincere. She’s not being honest with him and that’s confusing him.
That being said, that 80s stuff is going to be a turn off to most women. It makes him appear juvenile. He’d have to find someone who feels exactly the same way he does about the 80s if he’s not willing to join the rest of us in the new millennium.
I agree. Even if Jacob is a little goofy, he’s honest and sincere. He is good looking too!! I think the reason I don’t have a problem with the 80s schtick is because my Daughter loves all things 80s and I am just accustomed to those types of things.
It’s a shame this whole thing is revolving around Chris. He’s a narcissist. I mean a real, psychologically defined narcissist. He turns on the waterworks to manipulate Paige, talks about God to manipulate Paige, makes fake apologies to manipulate Paige and that works on others too which is unbelievable to me. Shame on the “experts”! Now Pepper has written a justification for Chris being on the show too. We all saw in 30 seconds of video when he was first on the show that he was a dick. They couldn’t tell this after all the supposed exhaustive interviews, questionnaires, meetings?
After he told her he was still in love with the ex, and they’re discussing getting back together, she should have bailed right then. I don’t know if contractual obligations are preventing her from doing that but if that’s the case she should sue them. Nobody signs up for this show thinking the person they’re going to marry is still in a relationship with someone else.
And yes, TT, Chris mumbles. He doesn’t open his mouth to talk especially when he’s being duplicitous.
Chris wants to be the one to break up, clearly. And I thought this before we saw the preview for next week.
So…if I can step in here…
Brianna and Vincent took Chris’s side because he had already apologized, and Erik standing up quickly after saying what he did, was an unintentional sign of aggression. I find it interesting that I believe this is the first time the Black cast members have put numbered the white ones. Because of this, we’re seeing a distinct cultural difference in how certain mannerisms are interpreted.
I had mixed feelings. One the one had, Chris didn’t have to lean into the interpreted aggression and could have simply reiterated his apology. Erik also really needs to learn how to read a room, particularly when he’s late. The other men could have simply said that Chris had apologized before things escalated, their silence made Erik continue. It really was a bad situation.
As for Hailey and Jacob. She chose to throw caution to the wind one intoxicated night, but really owes it to Jacob to better explain that despite their one night of intimacy, she still needs more time, and why things aren’t clicking. Give Jacob a chance to change some before zoning him out.
BTW Tamara and everyone else. There’s a great YouTube channel that has been reviewing the episodes. It might help everyone to see from a different cultural prospective.
It’s mrskevonstage. I think you’ll like it.
sounds like you don’t need me too recap then! It’s rather time consuming….
Ma’am: Don’t do that
Still love your recaps…but thought you might like another prospective maybe? It’s two couples and they’re really funny.
Like back when RHoBH first started and you recommended a YouTuber whose name escapes me now.
I love this show, but I am so over Chris. Seeing him storm over to yell at the girls to stop talking to Paige really hit a nerve with me. He’s isolating her and manipulating her and it’s hard to watch. Paige is less bubbly and more withdrawn with every revelation and I’m so sad for her that this is the hand she was dealt.
I also feel bad for Jacob. I really hope it was a misunderstanding and the whole cast didn’t “run” from Jacob. I could see Hayley being shady and lying about getting together with everyone, but I would hope the rest of them would be more mature than that. He was also really trying to communicate with her and she was shut down and giving him nothing back.
I was cringing through the drunken conversation Virginia and Eric were having. At the dinner Eric came in a little hot. I appreciate that Ryan tried to divert the train wreck by giving the context that Chris had been apologizing, but the damage was done.
The conversation between Clara and Ryan about keeping your mouth shut seemed very edited. It sounded like Ryan was talking in general terms not specifically Clara. The way they edited the long, silent shots of them just looking at each other made me laugh.
If Brianna can relax a little and Vincent learns to calmly, effectively assert himself, I think they’ll be fine.
I’m finally caught up and watching along with you. Yes, Chris mumbles so badly I feel like I need subtitles for him. And that’s the least offensive part of him.
