First of all if you are kind of new here, we used to do a tongue in cheek “Lentil Season.” Rather than call it “Lent” since we are all from religious backgrounds from atheism to strict Catholic and everything in between, we call it the Lentil Season. We are very loosey goosey with the rules. There is only one real rule and that is that you commit to something every day from now until Easter. That is a 46 day commitment. We started out strong last year and then I flaked because of quarantine. You can read how that happened in real time here. But the year before we were all able to bring positive changes to our lives. You can read about the 2019 Lentil season here..
I’m not sure I have the capacity to do Lentil Season with y’all this year. If I do, I think I should commit to cleaning the house an hour a day? Maybe start with a half hour? It would do my mental health good to get shack back to a state where HOARDERS is not showing up to film an episode. So maybe I can commit to that. And it works with the quarantine. And maybe take a walk with Banjo once a week? Obviously more if I can, but he hasn’t had a walk in a long time. Maybe we could walk on the track nearby once a week? To be honest these all seem to be Herculean tasks to me. But the comments here where we all update on our progress will hopefully shame me into at least trying to do better.
So let’s say I am half in. There should probably be something in there about showering and putting on clean clothes from time to time. But let’s not overdo it. 🙂
So who is in? Since we are still in a pandemic, maybe just pick one thing that would help with depression and anxiety. And try your best? Bookmark this link and all the Lentil Season posts will come up from newest to oldest. There are some good ideas there for what to commit too. And we are fine if you just want to cheer us on. We all need extra encouragement this season.
