Just checking in on you guys. I thought we were going to have another spat of bad weather on the east coast but right now it looks like it is all in north Georgia. I’m so glad I opted NOT to rent a cabin for this weekend. The weather has been horrible. It seemed like a good idea since I have tomorrow “off ” due to the Superbowl. At least from recaps. I do have a few independently sourced things I have been saving but nothing earthshattering.
I am on some sort of adrenaline high from going INTO THE WORLD! LOL. If we were all on Zoom I would not be shutting up. I don’t do Zoom. You’re welcome. I do sometimes drunk dial those of you dumb enough to give me your phone number. BIG MISTAKE! HUUUGE! (said in my pretty woman voice). But my phones are both dead so you are all safe for tonight. Kroger (ugh, I hate boycotting Publix) looked like the day before Thanksgiving. Driving there in light rain I thought, “only an idiot would go grocery shopping now’ and I expected an empty store. I guess it was the snow that we were not supposed to get. IT TOOK ME TWO CARTS TO GET OUT OF THE STORE. AND THERE WAS NO BLACK BOX MERLOT! NO BLACK BOX Red Blends! So I just bought all the Cab they had basically and some Coors Light. I should be good through St. Patrick’s Day? LOL.
What is the weather like where you live? It has rained almost everyday of 2021 here. Driving in snow was kind of fun though since it is 34 degrees and it all melted on impact. But in the morning, it could be an ice skating rink! It wasn’t supposed to get this cold. I guess I should start trying to put this away. There is still a bunch of crap in the car. I’m blathering. I’m sorry. It was a workout that is still in progress.
I’m going to look for a movie to watch later. I am taping a new movie on HBO called Irresistible. I forget what it is about. Last night I watched Official Secrets is a 2019 British-American docudrama film based on the life of whistleblower Katharine Gun who leaked a memo exposing an illegal spying operation by American and British intelligence services to gauge sentiment of and potentially blackmail United Nations diplomats tasked to vote on a resolution regarding the 2003 invasion of Iraq.[The film is directed by Gavin Hood, and Gun is portrayed by Keira Knightley. The film also stars Matt Smith, Matthew Goode, Adam Bakri, Indira Varma, and Ralph Fiennes. It was pretty good, it’s on either Showtime or HBO and possibly Hulu. What are you watching tonight? I only have cable channels so all of your fancy streaming stuff is not a choice for me. I’m old school and just want to watch on MY TV! LOL.
Does that mean no 90 Day Fiancé???
Sadly, yes, No 90 Day, no RHOA etc. Everything stops for the Superbowl here. That is another factor in why the Kroger was a madhouse tonight. People are going to have fucking parties. 🙁
I used to go shopping on Superbowl Sunday. No lines and no crowds. Loved it.
Oh no! What am I going to look forward to now? Superbowl is not a thing here.
I had declared I would watch RHOA again if Nene left… maybe it’s time for a marathon.
It’s mid-60’s and sunny in Las Vegas. It was so nice out I took my dog, Roux, for an hour long walk. I had to give up HBO & Showtime when my cable bill got to expensive for me to be able to afford, so it’s strictly basic cable. I do have Amazon Prime so I may check later to see what they have available. I hope the weather there gets warmer & dryer.
My cable bill is INSANE and Spectrum goes up like 25 cents or so with every bill hoping we won’t notice. I notice. The do my Cable, phone, and Internet so I just autopay it and try not to look.
Same here with Cox.
Call spectrum! They raised my bill continuously during the pandemic. I was just over $200 with the Silver plan and called to cancel cable on Friday and they cut my bill by $40.00 a month locked for a year. I told them I don’t watch that much TV and I was moving to streaming and they worked with me super quick in the retention department…the first guy I talked to was an asshole, but I stuck with it.
It’s about -6F here in the northwoods of “da yoop” (UP, upper peninsula of Michigan). We are under a wind chill warning of -40F with up to 40MPH winds. I have horses, dairy goats, chickens, and barn cats. I broke my rule against heat lamps (fire danger is real). The kitties have a heated bed in a heated tent in the tack room. We have heated water troughs all the time in winter, so that’s not different. One of my side gigs is equestrian photography, so I’ve been editing shoots most of the day since it’s too cold outside for much else. Just finished feeding all the beasts, and when you breath, your nose hairs freeze together. But, we don’t have poisonous spiders, alligators, or hurricanes!
If I still wanted to look for a man, I’d look for a Yooper. Had a fantastic weekend with one, one year we were both staying in the same hotel on a business trip. He was fantastic in every way. I think he was there for some sort of plumbing (ROFLMAO, I’m serious) thing. And I was applying for overseas teaching jobs. He was probably the nicest person I’ve ever met in my entire slutty life. lol.
I am also in the Yoop. We received about a foot of snow on Thursday/ Friday. A balmy 10 degrees !
I’m watching Blow. Great film. I’ve been in bed all day. Had my 2nd vaccine shot and am feeling rough. Feeling better than last night but still not great. So I have no idea what the weather was like today LOL. Sometimes I saw sunlight but seemed mostly cloudy.
Don’t forget to watch for Jennifer Giminez-(Brandi Glanville’s friend) who played the bride in Blow. Movies like that give me a slight longing for the 80’s! ? We got maybe an inch here in the Smokies, my daughter in Cookeville got almost 6 inches! Supposed to be 55 here tomorrow and 61 on Wednesday! Yay!!!
Which vaccine did you get — Moderna or Pfizer? My 2nd shot is scheduled for 2/20. I had a sore arm for about 24 hours with the first Moderna shot but I keep hearing that the 2nd one is a little rougher.
I had moderna, after the first one my arm was sore for days and I ran a 99.9 fever and felt like crap all day. I just had the second one on Wednesday and stayed home sick on Thursday. I felt like shit, same fever, about feeling as ill as the last time, but arm is not as sore. So glad it is over with in this case. Totally worth it.
I was talking to a friend about it yesterday. She & her husband got their shots 2 days before I did & the only side effect they had was a sore arm. We agree that whatever the side effects are, it beats getting Covid. Sorry you had such a bad reaction, but glad you’re feeling better now.
It’s so nice to hear people talking like you. Social media is full of people saying they won’t have the vaccine and jump on people who say they will. I’m in my 40’s and we haven’t started vaccinating yet (later this month) so I am guessing I won’t get mine until later in the year. Can’t wait!!
I’m glad younger people like you, Sarah, are taking it seriously. I do know so many people, including too many seniors, who are refusing to get vaccinated.
The only good thing about people saying no is that they put me higher up the list.
It probably depends on who you are around, I don’t know anyone in real life who isn’t going to take it.
Thank for calling me younger. ?
I had both shots, I am 64, and I had no side effects except a sore are for a few hours. I had the Pfizer shot. I am hoping I didn’t get a dud, I expected some reactions.
*arm
I’ve talked to quite a few people who had no side effects from their shots, so I don’t think you got a dud. You’re just one of the lucky ones.
Moderna. I had flu like reactions to both vaccines. The 2nd one was shorter in duration but more intense symptoms. If you can, plan on being in bed the day after. I got all my chores done in the week just in case I had the same reaction.
I’m getting my second shot on a Saturday so I guess I’ll plan on not doing much on Sunday. Hopefully it won’t be too bad because I’ll have to go back to work that Monday.
We have each other’s phone numbers.
Bahahahaha
Drunk dialing dumb asses.
Love you!
I HAVE BEEN GOOD LATELY! lol.
Plus ERRYBODY Has my phone number after I doxxed myself a while back. lol. It’s fine. I rarely answer my phone even when it has a charge. 🙂
Good enough to post a blind item?!?
Ha! I have reached out for more tea, but I will probably just tell you what if anything I get tomorrow.
Open forum—-I see that Wednesday night on Bravo on Watch What Happens Live will be comic Bridget Everett (luv her) AND. . . … Mary Cosby! What an odd matchup that will be and certainly one to watch!
That is a crazy matchup! Andy LOVES Bridgett. And is very inappropriate with her.
Can’t you just see ole Mary’s eyes popping out of her head?
Enjoy your chateau, you truly are do for a brilliant and beautiful holiday. Snowflakes and wine, god that sounds wonderful.
Thanks, but I am in the shack. If I am going to pay for a fancy cottage it’s going to have to be on a good weather day. But not too close to spring. Rates are low (COMPARATIVELY) in the dead of winter because they are known for their extensive property and horseback riding and fancy gardens. I’m going to have to set aside a funds for that. The big draw is that they take big dogs. For an EXTRA $250. But I have not been anywhere in YEARS so… I may just bite the bullet soon.
I’m happy for you and Banjo.
Cheers
We’re supposed to get another 4-6 inches tomorrow, on top of the two feet we got in the Sunday-Tuesday storm. I still love it. I keep my window open and look into the woods across the street. In the other direction is Main Street, and occasionally there is the muffled happy voice of a kid. But for the most part snow brings silence. And there’s no quiet quite as delightful as a snow quiet. That said, I am sore from shoveling and beyond grateful to my neighbors who pitched in to help. Miss youze guys! Love you, Tamara.
OMG! I keep meaning to write and check on you but THINGS keep getting in the way! I am so happy to hear from you!
PLEASE LET SOMEONE ELSE DO THE SNOW SHOVELING! Love you!
Anybody who has HBO has gotta watch “Lady and the Dale”!!! It’s a documentary series about a true story too crazy for me to even begin to explain. First two parts premiered last Sunday and part three tomorrow night. The Duplass brothers directed/ produced it and it Is fascinating! ???? You could not make this shit up!
I’m watching right now and loving it!
Stay warm and dry, Tamara. I managed to avoid the last major snow storm being just far enough south in NJ for it to have turned to rain, but I think we’re supposed to get about six inches tomorrow. I’m dreading it. I used to LOVE snow, but declining health makes shoveling impossible, so now I hate it and pray that it passes me by. I’m like you and avoid leaving the house except for absolute necessities. I’m on the high priority list for the vaccine but there’s a real shortage of it here in NJ and so far I’ve had no luck getting an appointment. I hope that changes soon. I haven’t posted much lately, but I always read your posts and I always wish good things for you and sweet Banjo!
Thanks BeachMary!

Okay, I just finished the movie and it was AMAZING! Just a warning, at first there is about one minute before the actual movie starts in earnest with some dramatic things from the 2016 presidential election and if you are like me you might think HELL NO. I am not doing anything about THE ORANGE ONE. You will see his face for about ten seconds. That’s it. And it has nothing to do with the movie other than the movie is a comedy about ELECTIONS.
And I know what you are thinking. ENOUGH WITH ELECTIONS but it’s a comedy and it’s really good. You have to watch it if you have HBO. Most of the movie is like a Hallmark movie with more funny stuff. You know how it is all going to work out. It’s fun. It’s light! It’s just what you need. But later things take a change I never saw coming.
Also, just when you think the movie is over, WATCH ALL OF THE CREDITS. ALL OF THEM. There are more scenes.
I LOVED this movie. Critics hated it. It has like 40% on Rotten Tomatoes. I have to believe that is because they did not watch the whole damn thing.
STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING and go watch it now.
Anyone else watching Bling Empire on Netflix? I want Anna Shay to be my friend since she is handing out Dior and dinners in Paris.
Just curious. Why are you boycotting Publix? I spend winters on the Florida Gulf Coast and love the Publix supermarkets. They’re always clean and the employees are super helpful and friendly. Up North our best store is Wegmans. I’ve never been to a Whole Foods so don’t know how they compare.
Weather here is supposed to be cloudy and cool but better than my home up North where they had over 2 feet last week and are expecting more this week. Used to enjoy the snow when I was younger and went cross country skiing. Now I’d be afraid to break my leg or hip. Plan a quiet day probably watching the Super Bowl. Still waiting for my Covid shot before I go anywhere that’s not necessary.
To me, Publix is fancy. I actually don’t think there is a Publix in my state. I have only shopped at Publix while in Tennessee. Several years ago I was listening to a comedian give an interview on a local radio station, and he said my favorite line ever. “I knew I was rich when going to store meant I was going Whole Foods.”
I LOVE MY PUBLIX. But….
LAKELAND, FL — Publix heiress Julie Jenkins Fancelli donated $300,000 to help pay for the Jan. 6 rally that preceded the riot at the U.S. Capitol, which has led some customers to boycott the popular grocery chain, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Fancelli, who is the daughter of Publix founder George Jenkins, donated more than $980,000 to former President Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign and the Republican Party, the Wall Street Journal reported.
According to USA Today, she provided the majority of the funds for the $500,000 rally in front of the White House. During and after that rally, some in the crowd mobilized to storm the Capitol, which led to five deaths, a lockdown for members of Congress and Trump’s second impeachment.
Fancelli’s donation was facilitated by far-right radio show host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones of InfoWars, the Journal reported.
As of Saturday, the hashtag #BoycottPublix trended across Twitter, where customers posted they would discontinue their shopping at Publix and switch to Target and other grocery store chains.
I just finished watching Girls on HBO and I loved it. I didn’t like any of the characters that much, but it was good overall.
Also my doctor told me I’m able to get the covid vaccine. I’m kind of freaking about it. I’m not an anti-vaxxer at all it’s just so new, but I’ll probably do it next week. Also if I have a spouse they are eligible as well, so if anyone is desperate lol
Will you marry me? lol
Just kidding. I am fine with waiting. I never go anywhere other than the grocery store. As I type this, Kroger is giving employees an extra hundred dollars if they take the vaccine. The problem is Kroger doesn’t pay their employees shit.
Lol. There are so many incentives to get the vaccine..I saw in Michigan they are giving away a joint haha, the problem is they aren’t readily available. I wish grocery stores would pay their employees more since they have been frontline employees for the entire pandemic.
I go to the Native American clinic here and they have their own supply. The vaccine was intended to be available for people over 60 or high risk individuals only, but a lot of native Americans don’t trust the government so they are refusing to get the vaccine, where I live anyway, so they opened it to all ages and non-native spouses. It’s probably a good idea even though I don’t go anywhere either, but you never know when my office will open back up…they have already started asking for volunteers to go back :/
BTW, I keep thinking of you every time I use my Duke’s Mayo. I thought I had plenty when you sent it and I am now using your jar. LOL. xo
Snow and digging out car.
