My poor (and super crappy) DVR is always super busy, and Sunday nights are the worst. So every afternoon I have to check my DVR to rearrange things so that I can tape as many of the options as possible. Last night I failed to shuffle thing around and didn’t realize until it was time for the 90 Day Fiance recap. So I couldn’t tape it until the wee hours of the morning today. Anyway, I’m feeling much better today than I did yesterday so it all worked out. Let’s see what these star-crossed lovers (heh) are up to this week. I just noticed I have another hour of some sort of preview for 90 Days Diaries. Yet another spinoff. Not sure what that is about, but will probably watch it. Oh, it looks like after this episode it will be streaming only, so I’m out.
Natalie & Mike
I feel like I missed the episode before this as well and probably just assumed it was due to the holidays. Natalie is talking like Mike already took her to the waterfall. I missed that. Natalie is being very sweet to Mike and making him breakfast. Over breakfast she asked if she could get a dresser for her clothes. He tells her to just take his out and use that one. She doesn’t know where to put his clothes in that situation. Also, there is not much room in the closet and it smells. Everything she asks for, irritates him.

Natalie is stuck a home all day doing cleaning. That should take her a few weeks. When Natalie talks to her mother she assures her that everything is great. But, I’m not sure he mom is falling for it. Natalie is concerned that Mike hasn’t given her the ring back. That is probably because she threw it in his face when he was in Ukraine.
Yara & Jovi
Personally, I don’t think these two stand a chance. However, the internet is overrun with some rumors that they got married in Vegas on Valentine’s day. Also, some say they had a baby girl in September. None of this is verified but people seem convinced. Back on this episode, Jovi is going away to work for a month. Yara is a grown ass woman who can take care of herself for a month. He tells her he loves her several times as they part at the airport. She says, “Okay, bye.”

LOL. I know this is not funny, but Yara tried to explore New Orleans and someone threw up on her shoes. Welcome, to Bourbon street, my friend. She is going to go get her nails done with Sara, Jovi’s friend. It’s Yara’s first time in a massage chair. She loves it. It is literally the only reason I ever go to get my nails done. Remember going to get manipedis? Yara says that she doesn’t want to have babies until they have a more settled job that doesn’t require so much travel. Sara tells Yara that Jovi was always out drinking and going to strip clubs. She says he used to sleep with strippers. What a great friend Jovi has.
Amira & Andrew
I have been dying to see what the heck is going on with poor Amira who is stuck in the airport in Mexico City being held by immigration! Andrew is at the coastal resort hours away. Why isn’t he on his way to Mexico City? Surely there was a camera crew in Mexico City who could pay off the immigration people. Or at least get information. So far, we still know nothing.

Andrew needs to go down to the front desk and get a local to call Mexico City. It’s been 48 hours! Hire an attorney. DO SOMETHING! He’s in Puerta Vallarta and that is a LONG way from Mexico City. Why is he not hiring an attorney?
Rebecca & Zied
Why does Rebecca always remind us that Zied is 27? I hope that is production. I love Rebecca’s apartment with the distressed brick walls. Rebecca is pissed that her daughter and son-in-law want to ride with her to pick up Zied. They are obnoxious the whole way there.

Rebecca has a ton of anxiety waiting for Zied to get to the greeting area. It has been a year since she has seen him. Why is the son-in-law so invested in Rebecca’s situation? Could they not give these two some breathing room? Even the daughter is cockblocking Rebecca! These two are so annoying. Maybe they are the reason the last guy didn’t work out? He wants to go home. But they meddling ones insist on going out to eat.
Tarik & Hazel
Every iteration of 90 Day Fiance has at least one person who is being taken advantage of. So for this season, Tarik is that person. Sadly, he also is a single father of an adorable young girl who has autism. He needs Hazel like he needs a hole in the head. Tarik has let his daughter, Auri, sleep in bed with him every night. He doesn’t expect that to stop. This is a problem. He doesn’t even keep her clothes in her room!

Tarik has a BBQ for all of his friends to come over to meet Hazel. Tarik’s friends are nice. One of the girls brings Hazel a scarf. Hazel said it is the first time she has ever gotten a present from a friend because in the Philippines no one has money for gifts. Tarik still wants to tell Hazel about him texting his ex, Minty. I don’t see the need for that at the moment.
Stephanie & Ryan
There is often times a moron who doesn’t understand they are being used for money by their overseas lover. Usually, it’s a older man. This time it is a mornic cougar! Stephanie is a complete fool and I won’t have any sympathy for what is going to go down this season. She is old enough to know what time it is. She keeps mentioning her 27 year old fiance just like Rebecca so they must be telling them to say that. Then, she leaves tons of messages on his phone like she is his mother and he is the 13 year old kid out past curfew. I can’t with this idiot talking to her cat.

Ryan eventually calls, probably because production made him. He seems thoroughly over Stephanie and her helicopter mom vibe. He says she can never say sorry when she does something wrong she just buys him stuff hoping he will forget about it. He says he never asked for ten watches or 15 pairs of shoes. Basically, she’s annoying. Ryan says that earning his own money is what makes him happy. Then we find out that Stephanie is the one who got him the job at the resort AND SHE IS ALSO FUNDING HIS PAYCHECKS. What the hell is wrong with this woman that she has to buy a kid in Belize to have a relationship?
Stephanie is a nutcase. A total nutcase. Ha! Ryan tells Stephanie she is far past crazy. He really doesn’t care whether he comes to America or not. He seems done. She wants to “end it in person” if it is going to end.
NEXT WEEK! FINALLY we hear from Amira. She was in Mexican Detention for three days and two nights. She is terrified. WHY IS HE NOT IN MEXICO CITY! Natalie tells Mike he is “low class.” And Betty and her cuckhold husband continue to expect slave labor from Julia.
I swear with everything going on in the world, I needed a dose of “reality”. Thank you, TT, fir the recap. I can’t with Rebecca, Stephanie and Natalie. Natalie because she doesn’t even seem to want to be with Michael. He doesn’t believe in God, he lives in the woods, he’s I debt and doesn’t want kids as fast as she does. She thinks he’s below her. So why???? Rebecca and Stephanie are stereotypical cougars who should have some wisdom and smarts at this age!! Even though I think zeid isn’t totally taking advantage of her, she’s pathetic with his face all over the place AND letting her daughter and fiancé manipulate her. Stephanie only wants the break up in person so that she can get some. Ugh!!! But, like I said, I needed to watch something that doesn’t scare the crap out of me!!
I’m a Rebecca fan. Mostly because she is my homegirl. 🙂 She’s not like Stephanie. She’s not buying a man. Maybe once travel is a thing again, I’ll pick me up a nice Moroccan guy. 🙂
I got hit on A LOT in Paris, especially on my first trip, by very young immigrants from other countries. It was kind of fun, and kind of sad they were in such dire straits that they would go for this old lady.
Happy to see this recap as, yes, you did miss last week’s 2 hour episode and I was concerned that you quit recapping this show you turned me on to. I signed up for Discovery + at $6.99 a month (ad free) to be able to watch the 90 Day series they will be streaming. Last night I watched the first 5 episodes of one of the three series it looks like they will carry, on David and Annie’s journey from meeting to after marriage, and it was riveting. I didn’t know this couple before Pillow Talk and like them among the best of all the Pillow Talk couples as they seem so happy and well suited. This series opened my eyes to the reality of their journey and I was very surprised to learn who David really is. I’m happy to have this diversion while being sheltered at home during the coming months.
Natalie and Mike are a mess. I don’t know why she wants to marry him. They have very little in common (religion; he drinks, she doesn’t; he eats meat, she’s a vegetarian). I don’t see this relationship working for very long. She’s a city kid and he lives in the middle of nowhere. They did have fun at the waterfall, but how many times can they go there?
The best line of this series happened last week with Yara and Jovi. She really dislikes New Orleans (I cannot blame her or that). She wants Jovi not to wear shoes in the apartment, especially after she got her new white rug. He doesn’t get it. She says something like “people pee in the street and you walk in it and then bring it inside. It’s disgusting.” Ready? HE says: “Nobody pees in the street in New Orleans.” I almost fell off the couch. Does he really believe that??
I wondered why Andrew didn’t call the American Embassy for help with finding out what happened to Amira. Or the French Embassy. He was so ineffectual. Poor Amira. Looking forward to hearing what happened next week.
Thanks for the recap, Tamara!
He didn’t call the American Embassy because he might have had to admit that the trip was to be used as a back door into the US.
It’s not the AMERICAN embassy he should have called. She’s a FRENCH citizen who has been detained in a foreign country. Their job is to get her out.
Exactly. I’m presuming her Dad made the correct call.
I didn’t understand why Andrew didn’t get a translator at the very least if he couldn’t find anyone who spoke English to tell him what was going on.
Anyone with half a brain would have solved that issue after maybe the second or third time they couldn’t find an English speaker on the other end of the phone.
I’ll go back and try to find the missing episode on Demand. This is really one of my favorite things to watch. Especially today when I get to enjoy it because it is already late. I tend to get in a dither when live recapping trying to get everything up ASAP. 🙂 I WANT TO SEE THE WATERFALL TRIP!
And it looks like I missed nothing with Amira’s situation.
Snoqualmie Falls is beautiful. I had no idea they had a hotel out there. There’s also a nearby casino.
I happen to love the City of Snoqualmie, particularly the older parts. That part of the city is not unlike Sequim, though Snoqualmie Ridge, the newer housing area is much newer and more suburban.
How do you pronounce Snoqualmie? Is it like “Hey, I just met you, And this is crazy, But here’s my number, Snoqualmie baby?” 🙂
Snow-qualm-ee – my bestie lived there. so beautiful!!!!
Exactly! ??
You didn’t miss anything with Amira, but last week’s episode is worth watching for Mike & Natalie, and mostly for Brandon and Julia and the farm. More of the mom & dad being over the top. The ending at the restaurant with the grandfather is hilarious. Brandon comes home from work before they go to the restaurant and without even greeting Julia, he’s rushing to change because they are going to be late. What is with these people and time??? They are killing me with that.
Rebecca’s daughter and son-in-law are terrible! Interesting how she doesn’t stand up for herself with them. Something is wrong somewhere there.
I’m excited to watch. 🙂 I resisted you guys on watching this mess and I really think it is the best reality show on TV. I was all like, no more of this reality crap. And now I wish it was on every day. LOL.
Tamara–you need to watch Ready to Love and Put a Ring on it, both on OWN. Season has ended already, I’m looking forward to next season.
I’ll try to remember to check it out! Carlos King (former RHOA producer extraordinaire) has a new show on Own starting this week called Belle Collective. It seems like it is reality but I don’t know for sure. I think it starts Friday? But not really sure.
Me too! I wish it was on every day but I don’t think I want to pay for the Discovery Plus. I love 90 days, all of them.
I’m so happy with Discovery Plus! Well worth $60 a YEAR. They have so much 90 Day exclusive stuff and other channels l don’t get.
Last week’s episode was a real doozy. Brandon’s mom flipped out over their wedding date. It was epic.
I just watched that. Their wedding date will upstage MOTHER’S DAY. lol.
Also, the girlfriend is already planning her exit so I don’t think she has anything to worry about.
Brandon and Julia will be late to Mother’s Day brunch, because they will be having lots of sex in their marital bed! hahahhaahhahhahah
There is a great psychologist who does YouTube videos about this show and others, where he comments from the viewpoint of a couples therapist. It’s called Psychology in Seattle, and his name is Kirk Honda. He’s amazing and his videos are very insightful.
Great recap – I haven’t watched the show yet, but your observations are, as usual, spot on!!!
Off-Topic: TT, are you watching the college football chanpionship game? My Yankee ass is rooting for my hometown team, Ohio State, but all my family (I was the first born “Up North”) are from Alabama, so I’m SO torn!!!! #GoBucks #RollTide
Rumor also had it that Mike and Natalie are married with a baby. What’s odd is that the supposed marriage license says Natalie is from Washington State.
I don’t get why Natalie I with a guy she feels has to completely change in order to suit her, when last time they were on she was in a hurry to get pregnant. She’s a very strange person.
I got the impression that Jovi’s friend has a crush on him, of maybe they dated at one time. She sure seemed like she wanted Yara to go back to the Ukraine. And once again, I don’t think Yara even likes Jovi, so why stick around?
This season is very odd.
What a bunch of moronic women, with just a few exceptions. I like Hazel much better now then the season she was first on. She seems sincere in everything she’s saying and doing. I think Zied is a saint for still loving Rebecca even though she semi-catfished him, lied about her marital status, and didn’t dress appropriately when she was in his country even though she’s familiar with the Muslim culture. Rebecca’s daughter and husband acted like they were homicide detectives, interrogating Zied. They obviously have never traveled internationally. After 24 hours of travel nobody wants to socialize with people they don’t even know. Shower and sleep is all you want.
Btw, TT, I LOLed at buy a boy in Belize. That woman is a total nutcase. After that conversation Helen Keller can see they’re done.
Oh, that idiot in Mexico! I loved his great problem solving skills as he did nothing and finally said well, I’m going to sit here and do nothing and hope this problem fixes itself. What a maroon! Amir needs to get right back on the a plane and find herself a nice French guy where she lives.
What’s wrong with these women who know exactly what life will be like here and then keep complaining about what life is like here? Yara knew Jovi’s work schedule. So did Natalie. They can’t entertain themselves? Are they babies that need constant attention? Read a book, watch TV and practice English, start to research jobs, go for a walk, a jog, learn more about where you live, join a club or community group, do some volunteer work. Jesus, it’s not that hard!
And natalie is making me puke with how fake she’s being with Mike. She doesn’t like anything about how he lives, eats, thinks, works. The last episode the whole root beer situation…ridiculous. if she can’t trust he’s telling her the truth about root beer, why is she there?
a love this show. This week I learned that age does not automatically mean wisdom.. Rebecca needs to not be afraid of that daughter and her husband or boyfriend or whoever he is. Does she owe them $ or something.. is that why she allowed them to come with. Yara and Jovi? he’s an asshole. Shit, I just hit a key and it deleted all my comments on everyone else. So in a nutshell.. Stephanie is an idiot and delusional and I also talk to my cats like they are people so that didn’t bother me, but what the heck does she expect from this kid she’s been schtupping? Natalie still reminds me of Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction, there is something insincere about her. Andrew is a complete useless waste of oxygen. Get on a damn plane and get your ass to Mexico City where she is being held. I can’t with him. Something is off with Tarek and Hazel also.
I felt so sorry for Amira, and her dad who is understandably racked with worry for her. I am also surprised he’s nit doing more to try to locate her.
I cringe every time I see Natalie and Mike together. She really does complain constantly.
Rebecca allowing herself to be manipulated by her daughter and son-in-law doesn’t bode well for her relationship.
Natalie is everything that most men hate; needy, clingy, whiney, baby talk – urg I just can’t with her! I really don’t understand why Mike even brought her to the US when last season they were over and he seemed fine with that at the beginning of this season. I think he needs the TLC coins to pay some of his debt.
I find I’m liking Yara more and more…. time will tell on that one.
And as for Dragon boy Andrew, he’s just Coltee mark2. I can’t understand why anyone would want to leave France and their healthcare to go to the US!
Does anyone else want to barf when Natalie and Mike call each other “love?” It’s as if they are acting the way they think real couples behave. (I notice this with other couples too.) I think Mike might be lonely and is giving this one last shot. But he didn’t want her to come and he clearly thinks she’s a PIA but rolls with it, as if it won’t be his fault if it fails. IDK
Rebecca needs to slap her daughter. And the SIL who is even worse. Why do they think they are entitled to behave like animals? And I agree with whomever said Zaid needed just to go home and rest before interacting with people, yet I give him credit for going along so politely. He clearly didn’t understand the barrage of questions — why are they asking him about work when he can’t work until they are married? Idiots. (I do think he was so tired, he just said “perfect” and “wonderful” repeatedly). But can we all agree he looks better than he ever looked before? The weight loss, the haircut, the glasses?
I think that Yara and Jovi do like each other, despite the arguing. Neither wanted him to leave on a bad note. The ‘friend” is a bitch. A jealous bitch.
Stephanie is crazy. That is all.
Daycare boy is stupid too. He was googling what to do? Not calling embassies? smdh IDK if it was illegal for her to enter the US via Mexico if she quaentined? Why in the world someone would come to the US to work in a daycare is beyond me.
I would like to marry Amira and move to France. I’d have to figure out the whole gay thing, but I think it would be worth it. 🙂
Found Jovi and Yara’s marriage certificate, indeed married on 02/14/20 in LV. Will send to you TT.
They now have a baby girl !
I really can’t see these two working out. They seem so opposite and I find her highly annoying.
Someone on IG with inside knowledge says that production tried to get Andrew to fly to Mexico City but he refused… WTF?
Okay now people are saying that Amira was deported back to Paris. But didn’t we see her show up to Puerta Vallarta in previews? Maybe I just assumed and she was back in Paris unpacking. And it seems like currently they hate each other? It is all very confusing.
Andrew is apparently blaming her for all that happened by saying the Mexico plan was really her idea and she bought the ticket without telling him, hoping he would show up. Ya, ok.
Still doesn’t explain why he parked his lumpy ass in the resort with little to no effort on getting someone to translate for him, or getting a bus to Mexico City. What a winner.
I doubt there is a bus to Mexico City. It’s FAR. But allegedly production tried to get him to fly there and he wouldn’t. It’s all just so weird.
Daycare guy is useless. I kept screaming at the TV, get a flight to Mexico City you idiot! Why would Amira leave her beautiful oasis. The area she lives in is somewhere I want to live, I would never leave. As far as Natalie and MIke, she annoys me. She has all day if she smells something stinky in the closet she has time to empty it and clean it. Poor Zied, he looked great getting off that plan. I don’t understand people. The travelers get off a plane they’ve been on for more than 20 hours and the people picking them up think oh let’s go party. Really inconsiderate. Can’t stand Rebecca’s daughter and son in law. Did not get to see Julia this episode. Poor girl the parents think they have a slave girl. If that’s going to work they have to leave the parents house. Tarik’s house is really sloppy looking. Jovi’s friend…why is all I can say.
Okee dokee. Rebecca said that she looks different waiting for Zied. You think? I h have no idea what the
heck is so different? Her hair? Skin? Something that is noticeable.
Yeah, let your son in law run the visit, what insulting vibes could come across with that, two kids glaring disrespectful to the mom and running things, while mom could not jump out of the car and say “see you at homeone day soon”who can’t not tell the truth let alone control the kids or truth about anything. She lies A LOT!
The guy got there and everyone knows how exhausted it ends up for the one travelling.
Oh good, home!!! Ummm it’s empty. Welcome Zied, catch ya after work!! Oh Rebecca, oh dear. Lol.
