Is it just me or have we had enough confessions on Bravo tonight? Tonight is the night in real time that Meredith has chosen to tell People Magazine that she and Seth are back together and deeply in love. Isn’t that special. It looks like this RHOSLC recap might be Mary-free. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I’m getting sleepy…
Dang! Heather’s new storefront for her “beauty lab” is huge! This man that is hand-feeding Jen is making me nauseous. I guess that is where Jen is getting her needs met. Meredith and Seth get together and talk. I guess he is there for the upcoming couples snowmobiling scene. I’ll spare you all the details but Meredith and Seth decide to get back together.
Bad Relationships Abound
Lisa and her husband go to dinner and talk about their fucked up marriage. Lisa is so focused on their businesses that she never spends time with her husband or family. Her idea of spending more time with her kids is encouraging them to participate in her businesses. John (is that is name?) has been trying to tell Lisa that he is not happy in the marriage since the first episode. The only “bonding” I’ve seen with Lisa and her kids was a “goal setting activity.”
Whitney and Justin go to check on her dad in sober living. He wants to get out of there early because he is getting a roommate. The two of them and Steve (who I keep wanting to call Whitney for obvious reasons) meet with a sober living counselor. Basically, Steve says he is good to go and everyone else says “um, no you are not.” Whitney did a really good job of navigating a difficult conversation while still firmly saying she is not going to buy him a salon.
It’s time for Lisa, Meredith, Jen and their husbands and singleton Heather to go snowmobiling. Sharrieff is there! How shocking! Jen starts talking about Seth and Meredith’s relationship in a talking head. Gurl! You man doesn’t even live with you! Wow they are going 21 miles out! That is a long snowmobile ride back. heather has her own snowmobile. Lisa is driving the snowmobile with John on the back. Then she turns around and tells him it is hard to drive with his weight on the back. If that is not a metaphor for their marriage I don’t know what is.
Meredith and Seth wipe out and so do Whitney and Justin. Meanwhile Heather is having the time of her life racing through the snow standing up. They stop midway for a campfire and Sharrieff spins a tall tale about how he met Jen in college. It ends with him talking about how “sweet” Jen is. Cue the other women’s talking heads and roll the footage about what a total bitch Jen is. Please and thank you. Jen is so pretty and sweet that he can’t be bothered to come home. What kind of college football team practices during winter break, and winter quarter?
As they prepare to wrap this little adventure up, Whitney pulls Heather aside. She tells her that Jen claims that she heard Heather is seeing someone else. So, it’s pretty odd that he is there and they are suddenly so lovey dovey. Whitney wants someone to ask Jen. Whitney is NOT about to do that. Neither is Heather. Both of them are headed home due to other obligations. Everyone else is going hot tubbing at the rented chalet. Heather tells us that Jen showed her photos of Jen with another guy. Jen is totally trying to stir up trouble for Meredith.
Back at the chalet, we get a very interesting dinner conversation comparing Islam and Mormonism with a dash of Judaism. Then the girls get in the hot tub and the guys play shuffleboard. Sharrieff explains that the reason he is never home is because he is recruiting players all year long. He says that Jen is gone for work almost as much. Seth can relate to that. Sharrieff seems to be coming up with a cover story. John basically says that even when Lisa is with him all day, she is not with him. That’s sad.
I expected the women in the hot to to rant about their men, but the guys talking about their feelings really surprised me. Jen says that her husband couldn’t even come to her father’s funeral with her. That’s unacceptable. That’s a divorce for me. Seth seems really in love with Meredith. Lisa and Jen ask about the status of Meredith’s marriage and she chooses to dodge the question. Then she says they are both committed to making their marriage work. Jen’s face during that comment was one big eyeroll emoji.
Next week: Mary is left out again. She cries to Grandpa about not being invited to parties with the other women. Poor Mary. Maybe she can wring a few more dollars out of her congregation for a handbag or something.
