It’s the final Amazing Race Recap of the season. I’m so excited to see who wins! And while I’ve been Team Purple all season, any of the remaining three teams are deserving of the win! This final leg will happen in New Orleans. It seems all the reality shows love New Orleans. They must have really good filming deals. But first they are flying back in first class on Philippines Airway. The legroom is TO DIE FOR! Then they are off to their taxis. Taxi drivers are always the luck of the draw. Team Beard may have drawn the short stick in that regard. Team Purple is out in front.
The first challenge is at a Mardi Gras party. They have to get 50 red and 50 gold beads to get their next clue. The Beards are lost. Dayum. I think Team Purple might have misunderstood the directions. Yikes. I feel sorry for the beards. I hate when taxi drivers screw the teams. Team Purple fixes their mistake and get through the first challenge first.
Team Purple head off to the ROADBLOCK traveling with a band while playing washboards. Once they get to Cafe Beignet they have to find the baby in a king cake. There are hundreds of cakes to look through. Will found the baby! Then they have to eat three beignets each. They are struggling to keep them down. Apparently, this is harder than we think. Hung has gone through all of his cakes without finding the baby and has to go through them all again. Chee’s baby is on top of the table, Hung and the other beard can see it but she can’t help him.

Team Purple gets to the next roadblock. OMG. It is a terrifying challenge. You have to go up on a really high bridge and jump off in the dark to grab a clue. James is not really up for this challenge. Chee finds the clue and they are off to the next challenge. Team Beards is still looking for the baby.
Dangling Your Life On A Rope Over The Mississippi!
James gets the clue on his first try! But now they have to rappel off the bridge to get to the next clue. Then, they have to roll a giant ball to Mardi Gras World, the place where the floats are stored. They are rolling the ball. Poor Hung has to do the death jump now. She is worried about her short arms. But she got it! Madsion finally finds the king cake baby.

Meanwhile, Team Purple gets to the clue box. They have to find a trunk with puzzle pieces in the giant warehouse. The pieces will fit on to the giant blue ball to make a globe. There are a LOT of puzzle pieces. But James is super quick at this! Unfortunately, they have to make some adjustments. But they still get out first! I hope they hide their globe from the other teams! They are off to the finish line.
TEAM PURPLE WINS! TEAM PURPLE WINS! YAY! TEAM PURPLE WINS! I’m so excited! I’m not crying. You’re crying! They had so much fun on the trip and really appreciated every moment. The other teams all love Team Purple. Then Will proposes! I can’t take all the happiness! Hung and Chee came in second place. That means Team Beards came in third. I really think there should be some money for second and third place. I think this is the first time the team I picked on the first episode has won! What a great season!
Yay! I am so excited Team Purple won! I have loved this season. Thank you for recapping.
Yes, I am crying. So happy!
This was a GREAT season and I’m happy for Team Purple!!!
I think the challenges from last week should have been done in the finale. Matching the music with the country it was played in was hard. If they had done that in the final leg, the teams wouldn’t have helped each other out. I thought this episode was kind of blah.
No CBS here so I totally forgot this was on. I agree the music challenge should have been done on this episode. Oh well, congrats to team purple/boyfriends.
I cried too. I thought the volleyball brothers had it in the bag. Team Purple got lucky, Will knew New Orleans.
I love this show. It is the perfect quarantine getaway. This was my first time watching it and I am so surprised it is not more popular. I now have more spots on my travel wish list. I am happy with the winners but I will always remember the GREAT attitude the blondes had!
Yes, the blondes were the epitome of sportsmanship.
I called them the Britney’s and was sad they were a target.
