RHOA Recap: New Peach In The Orchard

December 13, 2020 by tamaratattles 31 Comments

RHOA RecapOn tonight’s RHOA Recap, Drew Sidora finally makes her debut. It will be interesting to see how she is received. Laytoya Ali also joins the ladies tonight and they all get together for a “wine tasting.” Oddly, I too will be “wine-tasting” this evening. For some reason this is a supersized episode. Sigh.

We are going to meet Laytoya first. Kenya has invited Cynthia and Latoya over to her house for wine. Cynthia already seems to have some jealousy issues about Kenya’s friendship with Latoya. For some reason we get a package of Kenya’s bad treatment of others. Kenya seems very enamored with Latoya. She says she is stealing her from Kandi. Latoya is “in the process of divorcing her husband.” We shall see about that. No one has filed yet and some suspect this is just for storyline. Kenya still hasn’t decided what to do about Marc. Apparently he is “angry” AGAIN. I’ve never seen Kenya so welcoming to anyone.

RHOA RecapPorsha Gets Sprung From Jail

The last time we saw our girl Posha, she’d been locked up in the pokey! Porsha’s baby girl is missing her mama. That little girl is so cute and headstrong. Porsha is out of jail and getting ready to take a flight back to the ATL. Lauren and her mama cry tears of relief that she is safe and coming home the minute they hang up.

Porsha finally gets back home and wants her mama to cook breakfast for her. PJ throws a huge temper tantrum. At this point Porsha is still engaged but their relationship is really rocky.  The end is near.

Getting To Know Drew Sidora

Drew Sidora and Cynthia go out to dinner. Drew is not used to the Atlanta heat. I forgot that Drew is Eva’s friend. Drew really messed up her ankle while working on a play with Leon, Noelle’s dad. She ruptured her achilles. That caused her weeks of being laid up and almost made her lose her peach. She is still in a boot in this scene. This is basically a quick getting to know Drew scene. Drew’s husband Ralph has been nursing her back to health after her injury.

Then, we flashback eight hours to Drew’s house. Ralph and Drew are celebrating their six year anniversary. They married after six month of knowing each other. Her mom is there and wearing a mask in the house for her protection. She got stuck there after coming to see Drew after her injury due to Covid. She’s feisty and opinionated. She’s a pastor.

RHOA Recap
How did she grow up so fast?

Riley Graduates From High School

It looks like most of the scenes this week are going to be of everyone doing their own thing, due to COVID. I am surprised that Riley’s high school even held a graduation ceremony. Most schools here did not. Mama Joyce and Kandi are the only two people who can attend. So Todd didn’t make the cut. Kandi tells us about her graduation. She was booked for a show with Xscape. She flew home really fast and caught a plane back. It’s a socially distanced outdoor graduation. Riley looks really cute.

Kandi was happy she got a good seat. After graduation the family gathers at Kandi’s house. Kandi and Mama Joyce are emotional. Todd gives Riley a big stack of cash.

Cynthia Holds A Wine Party

Latoya and Kenya ride together. Latoya insists that Lake Bailey is a river because “with lakes you can’t see the other side.” This one is not a rocket scientist. Mike Hill is there and Cynthia has an assistant gettig the food together. Mike immediately goes into hiding. The food looks good. Latoya has a mouth on her. I don’t think I got a single filming update from my source that didn’t mention Latoya doing the most. Marlo arrives and it seems that Kenya and Marlo aren’t close anymore. There is friction there. Marlo tells Latoya about her sugar daddy. Latoya says she was a stripper. Kenya and Latoya are doing the most together. It’s weird.

Drew arrives with her husband Ralph who is friends with Mike. Cynthia is thrilled that Mike is making some new friends in the ATL. Kenya hasn’t even met Drew yet and she already has a problem with her. What is that about? In her talking head she wonders where “Cynthia gets all these strays from.”  WTF? Girl you have met her just last season with Eva. Everyone thinks Ralph is hot. Because he is. He sort of upstaged Cynthia at her wedding. Sources tell me everyone, was gawking at Ralph. Latoya and Kenya are really meangirling Drew. Latoya whispers to Kenya that Drew “has a pet on her head.” These two are being ridiculous.

RHOA RecapI Already Despise Latoya Ali

This bitch is awful. She stands up and announces to Drew that she doesn’t like her. She just met her! Apparently she did an acting role where she played herself as somebody’s side chick and broke up a relationship. Drew just laughs it off and says she gets that all the time. Marlo pulls Latoya to the side to warn her about getting too close to Kenya. These women basically all hate each other. When they move to sit outside by the lake, Kenya states the obvious that this would be a good place for the wedding. That’s a sensitive subject for Cynthia because she and Mike have been arguing about having such a huge wedding. Laytoya asks for an invitation and Cynthia points out she just met her.

Mike and Ralph’s conversation is way more interesting than the women’s bickering. Ralph says that he has had to leave the house for a few days to get away from Drew’s mother. I can see that, she’s bossy and it is his house. Kenya is trying to slow down on the wine because she is driving but Latoya wants to get her lit and take a car service. Kenya has never been drunk on this shoe ever. So that will likely not happen. Latoya wants to hook Kenya up with guys. Kenya and other point out she is married. Latoya says she is separated. Is she though? The women argue about whether you can date when you are separated but not divorced. Drew and Latoya disagree. Drew says she and Ralph are contemplating divorce too.

Kenya and Cynthia talk privately. Kenya says she is going to file for custody and file a post-nup. How in the hell did Kenya not get a pre-nup? She is so screwed.

Drew & Ralph Aren’t Getting Along

Ralph surprises Drew with a beautiful dinner at home with flowers and rose petals and strawberries. Things were sweet for a few minutes and then it all goes left. Ralph likes to run away from home for days and not tell Drew where he is. I’d lay money that Ralph didn’t go the the beach by himself. Finally, he admits that he went to Tampa. AKA Stripper capital of the world. He didn’t even tell her that he was leaving. He also has hidden cameras around the house and he watched her while he was gone. That’s creepy. Then, tries to make it seem like she is the crazy one. She calls him a liar and walks off crying. She cries to production and tells them he is trying make her look stupid.

I’m not sure why we needed and extra 15 minutes for that.

It really got to me when Porsha’s mom and sister had actual visible looks of relief on their face while talking to her. I haven’t watched the ATL ladies in years and I’m basically only tuning in to see Porsha’s protest storyline. Very proud of that girl! I’m kind of digging Drew though.

Sad to see so many of the housewives with marital problems. Find housewives that are happily married. I don’t enjoy watching these couples breaking up.

Marlo needs a peach and I know she’ll probably never get one and is getting a peach worthy check as a friend but she deserves a peach. Drew is everything and I’m liking the transparency and rawness in her scenes. Ralph was gaslighting her and I really felt for Drew and I’m definitely her for her storyline this season. She was a great addition and should have been on season’s ago.

Latoya has a mouth on her and would’ve been a great peach. Porsha has done a great job with everything she’s done with the climate we were in this year and I know people questioned it at first but I believe in my heart that the protesting and and everything done for Black Lives Matter was genuine.

I’m so proud of Riley and Kandi is a true boss but her time on this show is up. Kandi is every woman but we’ve seen every storyline from her on this show. Same as Cynthia, love her but it’s time for a new era. I’m actually over Kenya’s dramatics after all these years and don’t care about her divorce storyline.

Loving the Porsha/Kandi scenes, but everything else makes me regret not FFwding

I feel like these shows need to go young, with newly married, or people actually going out and having fun with the drama there, That was one of the things that was different with VPR, they were young and crazy, not older in unhappy marriages. I still watch the show, but it is not the same

I remember when RHOA recaps were the highest ratings on my site. There used to be tons of comments. It’s strange to me that there are so few this season. A really good season gets a lot. A really bad season like this years RHOC gets lots of comments. It’s like no one has any sort of opinion on this season. I was hoping the introduction of two new girls would get some sort of reaction. Apparently, not.

      Hey There,

The ratings aren’t high because NENE was the show! I could care less about RHOA now! Who wants to see black women tearing each other down??? Kenya is damaged goods and has displaced anger issues! I’m done with this show no matter who they bring on it! Bravo it’s time to cancel it!

I see your point. I miss when Nene and Cynthia were close friends. They had a good balance. Now that Cynthia is friends with Kenya she has a darker side. I miss her free spirit/ lighter side. I miss when Nene and Porsha were friends.
I thought it was horrible for Kenya and LaToya to make the disparaging comments about Drew when she arrived. I don’t want to see this mean girl nastiness. And we know Kenya will only get worse to all the women as the season progresses.
Also, I’m not sure I want to watch the dysfunctional relationship between Drew and her husband. This season has just started and it wasn’t enjoyable to watch his gaslighting.

I’m liking Drew so far. She seems authentic. I felt bad when Ralph was gas lighting her about the camera thing. I don’t care for Latoya at all. She was very rude at Cynthia’s. Ms.Diane is my fave cast member lol ❤️ I love her!

Porsha’s little girl is so cute. She’s starting to look a little more like Porsha. I don’t care much for LaToya and I’m not at all sure about Drew. It’s sad to see so many of the marriages on this show in trouble.

I can’t take another, “wash-rinse-repeat”, storyline about Kenya & her sorry a_s relationship! I’ve come to the conclusion that she’s not married to him. It’s all bullsh_t, she paid him & he was a sperm donor! It got out out of control and he walked out! LMAO ?
Kenya is a bullsh_t artist & will lie to anyone in order to maintain her fasca! She’s capable of anything! I wouldn’t put it past her. I believe she’s ruthless and that’s why she judges so harshly. I know it sounds sinical but I base it on her past behaviors! She has been cruel to others & has said terrible things about them. I hope I’m wrong. Peace ?

You are wrong. I spoke with Kenya when she was dating Marc. She was in love and still is. So try not to be such a hater. She stopped talking to me when I blew up her marriage from a completely different source who was staying an Anse Chastenet a resort I have stayed out where the marriage was performed. It’s a great place btw and she was in the cheap seats down close to the beach and took the photos. I verified them a million times and then broke the story first and she was pissed. Like REALLY PISSED. She didn’t want anyone to know and we have not talked since then. We started talking…I forget how.. but when she was still with Matt and that was very traumatic for her. So I love Kenya. And i think the whole hurt people hurt people comes into play with her. She is a very sweet person though deep down but she seems to continue to play a villain on this show, She was always very nice to me and you guys know I whine a lot. lol.

Maybe 2020 isn’t the year to watch wigs and fashion and constant fighting. It doesn’t feel right. Like Wendy. Maybe all the negative and the conflict isn’t working in 2020. I think I’ll skip this season. Maybe I’ll be back if the Fashion Queens come back.

Guess I’m moving on to sophisticated programming, like 90 Day Fiancé.

I am enjoying being able to watch RHOA again–no Nene popping up so I don’t have to
hide under the covers when she is there. Even Marlo is no longer scary.
So far everything is relatively calm and it is nice to see another side of these women.
I hope Kenya gets her divorce and Brooklyn.

These women ALL need to put their breasts away ! Enough already – we know you have them. Looking at 50 year old enhanced breasts does nothing to add to the story. I guess they are all trying to make up for the loss of Nene’s chest shots. It has really gotten old and tiresome.

I’m so over Cynthia. I’ve been over Cynthia. She’s been a snooze fest and side kick since day one. Peter was the only reality tv drama interesting thing about her.

I’m enjoying Nene free…& yet.. she was also a fun one to hate so I weirdly miss her at the same time. But, girl byyyye.

All of these RH shows make me sick. I used to watch for escape, but now … I’ve hated the Mean Girl thing since grade school.

At this point in history— the pandemic and Trump fleecing his stans by faking he thinks he won, just so he can get millions — I just CAN’T with these ungrateful, petty bitches.

I guess I should say WON’T, not CAN’T. I barely watch because I am knitting while the TV is on and only watch that much for Tamara and the community.

I like Drew but her conversation with her husband was uncomfortable to watch. PURE MANIPULATION! That hits too close to home for me. Don’t think I can go through an entire season of that.
Latoya is a no for me. She has no foundation, just too loosey-goosey for me. And she seems like she’s just there to create unnecessary drama. We already have Marlo for that.

I can see why Drew got the peach, however. I can’t believe her and her husband had that argument in front of the cameras. I felt bad for her in that moment.

Hi TT! So I do NOT think Nene was the show and I am very glad she is no longer on it. She was full of hubris and now is finally paying the piper. As for Kenya, she makes me laugh and I am sad that she feels (IF she does) that she has to go after ANY other women on the show. I prefer to see these women doing something worthwhile, showing off homes, laughing, that sort of thing. NOT tearing each other down. That’s why I won’t watch the RHOC nor will I watch BH. So negative and especially THIS year I am glad YOU are here to do the recaps.
