Myha’la Herrold as Harper Stern, front row left

I have become even more addicted to my TV during this pandemic than I was before. I can’t wait to “get off work” where I watch and discuss TV shows with you guys sometimes. And guess what I do when I “get off work? Did you guess, clean the house? take a shower? Contemplate the meaning of life? Try to develop some real life relationships? Nope. I can’t wait to watch TV without having to basically transcribe what I am seeing. Lifetime movies, Cable channel TV series. I am basically cheating on you with good TV shows behind your backs. 🙂

This week, I binged the entire season of The Industry (eight episodes on HBO). It’s good. It’s about the banking industry sort of. There is some sort of stock market type component to buying and selling currency that is the workplace setting of the show. The show is set in London. A whole bunch of recent college graduates are heavily screened in order to select a dozen or so to vie for a permanent position with the company. Myha’la Herrold as Harper Stern, a woman from New York who has traveled to London with the hope of working for Pierpoint & Co is a breakout star this is her first lead role.

She’s brilliant. And her long nipples make many, many appearances as well. There is a lot of nudity and drugs. They work hard they party hard. And I should point out that I consider myself to be moderately intelligent and I didn’t understand a lot of what was going on. It bothered me until I just stopped caring and went with the general gist. The accents ( it’s a British joint I think) can be hard as there are a variety of them, but just roll with it.

There is also a really good show on Showtime called Your Honor.  It stars Bryan Cranston in his first major lead television role since Breaking Bad ended in 2013. On this show he is a judge with a conscience who gives a lot of breaks to those who come into his courtroom. Then there is a murder in town that rocks his world. And he has a very difficult decision to make. Or a series of difficult decisions. There has only been one episode so far, and it is killing me not to be able to binge. I thought I knew what was going to happen, but I was wrong. I love when that happens.

Big Sky on ABC is also very good.  Tuesday is episode five AND THE FUCKING “MIDSEASON FINALE.” I hate when they do that. But I get it, it’s the holidays and most people will be busy. Usually. If not in a pandemic. It’s about two girls who go missing on a long drive through Montana. Be sure to watch to the very end of each episode because something SHOCKING always happens. Just like it did on The Undoing on HBO. That’s another great option if you haven’t seen it yet. It stars Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant who live in NYC and send their kids to private school. There is a murder and it becomes a who done it. I think we may have spoiled this previously a bit. But, I recommend it as well.

I meant to get this up much early but I am trying to buy insurance and it is a royal pain in the ass. I got right down to the very end and they are accepting and then reversing my payment. I ended up going back with Kaiser Permanente and they cut me off for non payment years ago, when I PROCESSED THE PAYMENT and then they suddenly said it didn’t go through. I vowed never to use them again but the other options were so much worse. I called AMex and asked if it went through and they said it was processed and immediately reversed. I have a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE. Amex credit line. I keep forbiding them from raising it. I pay off whatever I buy every month and do not carry a balance. WTF? It is freaking me out because I am going to have to call Kaiser directly on Monday, to work this out ONE DAY BEFORE THE DEADLINE. I do not need more stress in 2020. I haven’t been to the doctor in years. I was all excited about going.

What is going on with you guys? What are you watching? What is pissing you off today?

Very rough year, IRS ON MY ASS.

Had to hire forensic tax attorney to prove, what I already knew – after burying my husband, tax lien was – non existent,. I’m so angry now, that I punched a wall in my garage,. My Hand hurts,

My lawyers will handle – but imagine / those who can’t fight the IRS.
Upon my husbands passing, IRS said I owed shy of 7 figures…..and now they owe me.]

Already told my lawyers to sue IRS for criminally negligent homocide.
They still think I’m funny – and I pay.

Before my son died he and his wife took her name off their home which made her sort of debt free. They wanted a loan at a lower interest rate & she couldn’t qualify with house debt. I don’t exactly understand.
When he died my husband & I were granted the house. Webith signed house over to her.
              No oroblens, right?
Here comes IRS, we have all paid taxes over the years often on the same earned dollar 2-3 times.
New tax law did not help with absence of several major deductions. We’ve also hired a tax attorney, because what we did we now owe money. She expects us to pay. Not happening with her from me, my ex can do whatever. In cask Aline she has received 6 digits in cash,
              *no good deed …!

I just got out of a big insurance mess myself this week. I was shocked Sunday night to see my monthly premium skyrocket nearly 600%! The next day, the insurance company had no explanation. They sent me to the state health insurance exchange instead, where they explained that my tax credit had been canceled due to an issue with another state agency.

I made multiple calls to the other state agency, until I finally got the letter that we were all looking for. Fortunately my tax credit was ultimately restored, and as a result my premium is back to where it always should have been.

As for TV, I’ve been a big cult kick lately since catching up on the NXIVM shows: HBO’s “The Vow”, Starz’s “Seduced”, and the ID documentary that was released last year (“The Lost Women of NXIVM”). More recently I binged the HBOMax show on Heaven’s Gate, and I’m always finding more (Anti-)MLM videos on YouTube to keep me learning about pyramid schemes.

I never got tax credit until this year. I must admit I stopped even trying to get insurance for years. But now I basically have to do my taxes by 3/21 or get kicked off. My revenue was very low this year. So it is based on that. But I fucking just did my taxes. And now I have to get on them to get health insurance. So basically my 2020 taxes that I have already overpaid in my quarterly payments based on last year are in play. And I hate all of this shit. I need a tax person who handles this all along and not they guy I have to put everything together for at the end of the year who just plugs numbers in a program for $500. I did my own 2019 taxes last year and got $95 back for over paying so… I guess I should just get on it.

The US TAX SYSTEM IS FUCKED. The US Healthcare system IS FUCKED.

The literal HELL the IRS put me through, is criminal. We paid quarterly, 15+ years & upon my husbands passing they put liens on all my assets. Couldn’t sell a single thing , while in probate.

I had to pay handsomely for a forensic tax attorney- but worth , what they said I owed.
He was amazing, can DM me if you want his contact info – but holy shit, of corruption.

Will not let this slide, but am taking a few days – since Thursday, to enjoy my victory over the corrupt IRS. -. Come Monday, I will walk back into court & sue IRS for over payment charges/penalties…

87% accept IRS, bills/fees without challenging & they bank, literally on that.

*The Flight Attendant* (final epi airs Dec 23. Released weekly) Drama Thriller HBO

*The Undoing* HBO (just listing this again as it was that good.) Drama

*Succession* HBO comedy/drama series. Rather bizarre, but I finished season one and will start season 2 today

*A Teacher* (not the movie, the series) drama. HULU. Raunchy! But if you watch Bravo, yr probably ok with trash. Haha. Released weekly. Last epi Dec 29.

*Bonfire of Destiny* Drama. Based on fire in Paris 1897 – NETFLIX
watched it half in French. And half English. I preferred it in French. No matter tho, it’s EXCELLENT.

*Nurse Jackie* It EXPIRES dec 31. So if that interests you, start there.
Drug addict nurse. Good plot. Comedy drama series. NETFLIX

*peppermint* action movie. Action movies are my least fave. But for whatever reason, I liked it. NETFLIX

*Sharp Objects* thriller HBO. It’s definitely a different kinda movie. But I really enjoyed it.

*Rita* Danish comedy. If you ever taught, you will adore this series. Even if you weren’t a teacher- it’s wonderful. You’ll need subtitles, but not for long. Amazing how similar Danish is to English. NETFLIX

*The Hookup Plan* French comedy. Delightful plot. Amusing and clever. NETFLIX

And some classics… I’m sure you’ve all seen (Shameless, Queen’s Gambit, Ratchet, Schitt’s Creek- don’t quit on this one until yr at least 3 epis in) NETFLIX (and other pay tv channels too)

Sorry! I don’t have any recs for regular TV. I live on pay TV. Since staying home since March, I’ve used the gas, clothing and restaurant savings for the pay TV options. It’s a luxury I’ll not regret. There’s not much to do these days and good TV is a blessing!!

I envy the time you get to spend watching Schitt’s Creek! I gave up on that series a dozen times. Then one AM, I decided I’d watch at least 3 episodes to see what the hype was about. OMG. I’m so happy I did. Even my hubby watched it, and he watches nothing but sports, news, and cooking shows!! In fact, we are re-watching it sporadically. And are now on season 2 in that rewatch. That alone amazes me as I’ve never ever ever rewatched anything!

Have fun. Hope you enjoy it as much as we.

I am loving HBO’s The Flight Attendant, very happy to see Kaley Cuoco as a producer.
HBO Succession, I think season 2 is better than 1- so stick with it

If you liked The Hookup Plan, you may like Call My Agent! Also on Netflix- French comedy set in Paris. With cameos from famous french actors and actresses – Juliette Binoche fans will be happy with her cameo

Staying with Netflix- You, Me, Her, comedy/drama about a polyamorous throuple. Great show!

Back to HBO, The Industry has been renewed for season 2. I will watch season 2, but I felt the script writing was not great, and the character development needs improving, need to suspend disbelief a little bit when watching. Would love to see Gus show why he’s one of the most if not the most intelligent there. And if they need the storyline of diversity hire, they need to be more creative. It’s good, but could be so much better.

Starz – Power- Ghost Book 2- suspend disbelief to enjoy it.

Health insurance in America is a joke. I have a high deductible health care plan with an HSA. That works for me only because I am part Native American and luckily can go to the doctor for free. Native Americans take much better care of their people. We have two clinics in my area which include regular doctor visits, labs, x-rays, eye care, dental care, mental health care, physical therapy, pharmacy, and even a gym with a pool. Even if you don’t have health insurance all of that is free if you are an enrolled member of a tribe or a direct descendant of an enrolled member. I wish that was the norm everywhere, instead people are super against free healthcare while making the health insurance companies some of the richest for profit companies in the world. “My taxes while go up.” Uhh yeah, but you’ll still pay less than you are already spending on health care a year.

I love love Yellowstone on Paramount. When I tell you it is everything like Dynasty without the glamour.
The ratings started off slow but by season 3 it was up in 4 million viewers. It is down right scary how dirty the characters can be and that loyalty is like gang like mentality. Kevin Costner has that cool demeanor but don’t let it fool you. That man is matter of fact ruthless. Season 4 won’t start until the summer so you can binge watch. Will always love Grey’s Anatomy, Station 19, for the most part Thursday night line up for ABC. I do like Big Sky it was hilarious when the actress revealed what happened in the first episode on GMA but not to the shows brass.

Virgin River season 2 is on Netflix and so far it’s better than season 1, and some beautiful scenery like Big Sky.

And I’ve been watching travel shows on Prime like Rick Steves and Rudy Maxa so I can dream of traveling again. Ooh and in that vein Europe from Above on Disney+

Has anyone else watched Broadchurch? Am I the only one? It is so beautifully shot but a very emotional story. The first season revolves around the investigation, and every episode you think a different person is guilty. The second season revolves around the court case (which is in England, so some things are different that we are used to here in America). The detectives are really great characters and I can’t say enough great things about it. I did cry multiple times while watching. But that is good storytelling.

That is a great show and a very different show about a detective who doesn’t play by the rules. Ruth Wilson is one of the best psychotic killers I have seen. I wondered if they based Killing Eve on her. . I watch alot of the shows on Masterpiece theater on PBS too.

I have really struggled trying to watch any quality tv.

The Netflix movies are poor quality.

Lately, I have enjoyed watching reruns of Survivor. Love it. They are on Hulu and Netflix.

I use a Roku and do not watch cable tv.

I really enjoyed Schitt’s Creek – wonderful & charming. Currently watching Harlots. It’s about 2 warring whores in Georgian London. It’s a BBC production so it’s well done & entertaining.

I’m 10 days off cigarettes. And 10 days off beer. Cant do one without the other. I’m 10 days on 1 valium a day to keep the obsessive voices that tell me I’ll die without cigs and beer, quiet. So far, so good. I’m one that is alone because of the pandemic. I go days without speaking with humans. My sister, who has been my best friend, has taken this time to tell me how awful I am and she has cut me out of her life. I’m more resilient than I thought I was.

Congrats for doing 10 days. You go girl! As for you sister? FUCK HER. My sister told her kids I had 3 abortions and only had cats my whole life which is why I had no right to tell off her son after he told me I needed to educate myself since I’m not a parent. I didn’t even have 3 abortions but the mere fact that she would say to them enraged me. You can love people from a distance, but you do not have to like them or have them in your life! Families know exactly what buttons to push. Don’t let her own bullshit thwart your 10 days of progress!

Daintyfeets, this happened in the past hour. My hubs smokes and is unable to go an hour.
We are going to be smart and cut back on expenses.
      His smoking is $30/day $200/week $800-1000/month.
I smoked for years for the looking cool, I never loved except when doing ummm certain illegal vices, which I had to do something.
Anyway, he screamed at me when I said I don’t want to pay that and you won’t commit to “I’m quitting blah blah blah”.
Kudos to you. It was the easiest thing I have ever done. Who knew? NOT MY MAN!! KINDA LOOKING FOR A STUDIO APARTMENT AS OF NOW. LETS SEE WHO WINS THIS WAR?!I

I’M SORRY ABOUT YOUR SISTER, I HAVE BEEN THE WORST THING MY SISTER EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH. SHE SPENT MOST HER LIFE LETTING ME KNOW.

I should have not vented the above comment. It wasn’t appropriate and just lost my shit being hurt and upset.
I was caught off guard and him smoking and telling had nothing to do with your journey.
Apples and oranges, I have heard that he’s quitting because of money (his) he needs to stop saying and do.
Congratulations on the days you have quit. It is a great accomplishment.?

I have become addicted to Israeli tv and movies. I watch in Hebrew with English subtitles. (I actually have close captioning on whenever I watch tv so I don’t miss stuff.)

There are some great ones: Shtisel; Fauda; Prisoners of War (the show Homecoming was based on); Beauty and the Baker (not to be confused with Baker and the Beauty on US TV); there are a lot of them.

English language shows/movies: The Spy (based on true story of Eli Cohen a famous spy who helped in the 7 Day War starring Sasha Baron Cohen but not a comedy); Lady Bird; The Crown; Peaky Blinders; Derry Girls; Queen’s Gambit

I have a little notebook where I jot down people’s suggestions and when I need something to watch, I google one — usually can find the network and a preview.

Love seeing suggestions. I have re-taken up knitting recently and plan to make a baby blanket for a new expected grandchild, so watching tv is a good way to spend the time.

If you get DABL channel there is a GEM of a reality/decorating show called “60 Minute Makeover” on every night. I am addicted to it. First of all, it’s in England. Secondly, it’s normal middle class people. The format is—someone who is “deserving” has family and friends write in for a SURPRISE makeover of three rooms of their house. And it is done in 60 minutes. So much to love about this show. Often the designs themselves are quite good and inspiring. But mostly it’s how you get to see how a normal person in England lives. Who their family and friends are. And by “deserving” what they mean is either a disease, death, or “they are always doing for other people”. Can you imagine someone going on tv to talk about your fibromyalgia as a way to get a free makeover? And without your prior knowledge! And of course, being British people they very polite. It is reruns being shown. Right now they are 2009 and a bit cacauphanous. My favorites are from 2011 with host Catherine Gee. Who makes it much easier to understand what is going on. She is also very skinny and sometimes I think she has invited people to be on the show that she met at “anorexic anonymous”. And that they compare thighs between setups. But that is just SOME of what makes 60MM great. It is fascinating to see how people live there. For example the bedroom are tiny and everyone wants a dressing table. Weird radiators and fireplaces in most rooms. It is also formulaic, it starts with the request”please give my mom/my friend/my sister a 60 minute makeover”. Then they all consult together and decide what to keep. Then “because preparation is exempt under 60 minute rules” they put all the person stuff in boxes or throw it out(!) and strip wall paper.

I highly recommend this show and would love to gab about it- the designs, the people, the designer…..

On Hulu-The Mick. I’m getting ready to binge Nurse Ratchett as I took Netflix again. All seasons of Yellowstone are on Peacock I think? a very good binge-watch. I deleted Peacock when they wanted $$. If you have not seen Animal Kingdom with Ellen Barkin as the ultimate Ma Barker character, I am DYING for the next season here. It’s on Amazon Prime and TNT and can be paid on Youtubes and elsewhere.

I have another appointment with Natasha on Wednesday but there is a weather “thing” forecast. I think I am over therapy anyhow, although since this week’s meeting I feel like I should be doing way more drugs, booze, and for some strange reason turpentine.

I think the finale was the best of the four episodes.
Just need more than 10 years for four episodes.
Would not mind the secret life prior to that day.
Need someone who is not related or family to tell the story and dirt.
Son, and family members just aren’t able to get into the story. The bad and ugly. (Madison kinda blew it with his dad, maybe he could have known a lot)
I think it may be able to be solved.

I am watching THE CHALLENGE on MTV. It is my Saturday pleasure. It is the first episode and it is AMAZING! NATALIE FROM SURVIOR IS ON! AND she is partnered with WES!!!! I love LIO but he is partnered with some chick from Love Island UK. Both are newbies. LOLO JONES IS ON THIS SEASON AS A ROOKIE! She is partnered with another rookie, NAM who seems like a BEAST. I love this team. Ashley is with CT and they both have won before. THIS IS THE BEST SHOW EVER!

I have watched all the seasons of Big Brother and do not remember Amber B. Can anyone give me hints? Kam and Aneesa are a team! Kam wanted to work with CT and he shot her down. I love LIO! the newbie? In a very age inappropriate way. lol. Lio’s partner is a newbie from Love Island UK. She is already ready to give up. WTF?

IF YOU ARE LIKE SURVIVOR OR other similar shows, THIS IS THE BEST SEASON OF THE CHALLENGE EVER EVER EVER. MUST SEE TV!

Well, I just finished Virgin River on Netflix and am now watching this season of The Crown. I rewatch Schitts Creek when I’m doing stuff around the house. Netflix also. The guys from Watch What Crappens (podcast) were raving about The Movies That Made Us on Netflix and The Toys That Made Us on Netflix so I’ll give that a gander. I do watch reruns of Two And A Half Men because it always makes me laugh, along with most of the Big Bang Theories. There is always Hallmark as a mindless thing to watch while knitting or doing something else since most of them are all the same but I still like em. And I like Chicago PD because they let me on set one day while filming and the guys were really hot. I also LOVED Cedar Cove but I had to buy it because Hallmark took it off it’s roster. And Curb Your Enthusiasm is always good. But if you want to pee in your pants, find this comedian called Sebastian Maniscalco. I think he’s on either Prime or Netflix. Hour long specials that will have you laughing so hard. I am convinced laughter is the best thing right now. Hubby LOVES all those forensic files type thing, anything with a murder investigation based on real life but honestly, after 25 years, I’ve had enough. And I still have my VHS tapes of the Perot/Bush/Clinton debates and they are hilariously funny.

That is a great show and a very different show about a detective who doesn’t play by the rules. Ruth Wilson is one of the best psychotic killers I have seen. I wondered if they based Killing Eve on her. . I watch alot of the shows on Masterpiece theater on PBS too.

I live in Florida but kind of wish I lived in South Carolina or Georgia. I’m not sure why. All are conservative and I’m super liberal. I went to Savannah and Jeckyll Island recently thinking maybe I do need to move out of Florida. I know Tamara lives somewhere in Georgia and has some love/experience living maybe on the SC coast/ Isle of Palms. I remember a post about driving over a bridge. Anyways since this is an open forum just wondering…I love Florida weather (except hurricanes) but for some reason I am drawn to SC or GA. Do I have COVID brain and have lost my mind or besides that it’s super pretty in SC and GA coast why should I even risk this none sense since with global warming maybe all coasts are not safe and I’m in Orlando which is kind of liberal and not near a coast. Do I have a death wish? Any point to moving to a coast? Especially further north. I’m looking for anyone to maybe weigh in.

I recently binged on the Queens Gambit and bought a chess set. I guess if this post is about tv and things to watch I would recommend it. That’s my comment on the post.

I lived on St. Simons Island in Georgia and also in Savannah. St. Simons is beautiful. And Savannah is too. But the beach in Savannah isn’t really pretty like St. Simons is. The restaurants are great in both places.

I have spent a lot of time in IOP/Mt Pleasant but never really lived there. I lived in Charleston briefly as a child just before we moved to Libya. I had a little boyfriend next door and we once caught about 20 frogs in a paper bag. I brought the bag into the house as a present for my mama. Hilarity ensued.

I have also lived in Greenwood, SC and Lander SC about an hour and a half from the water. I loved living both places. But mostly because I had a social group, especially in Lander that was a lot of fun. I miss having friends to do things with. When you move into a small town, you sort of get pulled into to your age group of peers fairly easily. In the burbs, no one really meets anyone.

But the issue was I would show up in the morning and keep the Internet on all day. Even then I was addicted lol. And Clemson GO TIGERS was who we were getting Internet from. I got in so much trouble. I loved living there, but in real life people don’t really like me. Everyone flocked to me when I was new but there came a time when I was supposed to judge a beauty pageant and an at exhibit at the sametime.I am southern and should have chosen the beauty pageant but I fucked up and went to the art exhibit and things went downhill from there.

Also, I turned on the Internet every morning and turned it off when I left and apparently that cost money so I was non renewed after a year. Because I am a terrible person.
