Time’s Person Of The Year For 2020 Is…

December 11, 2020 by tamaratattles 23 Comments

I’m pretty sure this is the first time two people have shared the award. And I couldn’t be happier. Dr Fauci was named Guardian of 2020.

That is all…

A Change Is Gonna Come! Hallelujah! When I saw this news, my first thought was that trump was gonna have a fit. My next thought was that he’d probably just have another fake Time cover made up declaring that he was named Man of the Year, just like he did once before. His reign of terrible is almost over! I’m still donating money to Ossoff and Warnock because their victories are vital. Thanks for sharing this, TT!

Most of the Bernie Bros helped get Biden elected.. I know because I was part of a phone bank / text campaign that was organized by former Bernie campaigners and we reached out to people in swing states who were former Bernie supporters. There were still a few that were sore about his loss and didn’t like Biden’s record, but majority knew anyone was better than Trump.

Bernie bros is a fiction created by Clintonistas to try and explain why so many progressive Democrats were and still are displeased with the conservative nature of the party over the last several decades. The Democratic Party was once the party of the people since the Clinton ascension it’s increasingly become the pro corporation/wealthy party to the exclusion of the common man. Clinton’s loss was entirely her fault for the lousy policies she and her husband had. Bernie supporters had nothing to do with her loss her inability to attract voters is what led to her loss and that is entirely her doing.

Are you not on social media at all? The Bernie Bros were horrific. And quite real.

I disagree what I saw constantly were Clintonistas constantly attacking them across the political spectrum of the internet.

I found the attacks to be petty, non informative and mostly from a 0lace of ignorance for example almost bone of them knew some of the absolutely horrible things she supported like attempting to fight pay raises for workers overseas or how she illegally supported a coup in south america for that aloe she should be in jail and that’s not even discussing how she refused to release the texts of her speeches. That is shady as shit for a Democrat. That’s straight up Republican playbook.

The so called Bernie bros were way better informed and evescerated the Clintonistas which absolutely pissed them off so they created the myth of the Bernie bros.

They give it every US president. When they gave it to trump, they made the M look like devil horns and the story started like this…

This is the 90th time we have named the person who had the greatest influence, for better or worse, on the events of the year. So which is it this year: Better or worse? The challenge for Donald Trump is how profoundly the country disagrees about the answer.

President-elect Donald Trump photographed at his penthouse on the 66th floor of Trump Tower in New York City on Nov. 28.
Behind TIME’s Person of the Year Cover

It’s hard to measure the scale of his disruption. This real estate baron and casino owner turned reality-TV star and provocateur—never a day spent in public office, never a debt owed to any interest besides his own—now surveys the smoking ruin of a vast political edifice that once housed parties, pundits, donors, pollsters, all those who did not see him coming or take him seriously. Out of this reckoning, Trump is poised to preside, for better or worse…

When I saw that Trump cover with the subliminal devil horns, I was reminded of Jewish photographer Alfred Newman’s Newsweek photo of Nazi sympathizer German industrialist Alfreid Krupp. Newman hated Krupp and didn’t want the job, but found a way to shoot Krupp to make him look like the Prince of Darkness that he was. One picture, 1000 words.
Actor George Takei sums it up succinctly:
“Devil horns, monster shadow, unretouched bald spot, delapidated chair, literally resting on laurels…Trump trolled by Time.”

DIY Photography has an excellent article detailing Nadav Kander’s deliberate details in the Time cover portrait of Trump.

I watched the presentation last night. It was a very moving show. And they did mention this is the first time two people carry the Person of the Year title together.

I pray they can usher in some type of unity and peace for this country.

I’m happy to see Trump go cuz I am sick of the hatred and I’m glad a woman is VP however…. this year, 2020… the People of The Year are our health care workers. They worked double shifts, went to hardest hit cities to help, gave up seeing family and got run down, some even died saving complete strangers from Covid. They are the real heroes in 2020. Not disagreeing with any other comments, just want to add this.

I am watching DOOL on DVR (and On Demand every other day because it is often taken over by the Governor droning on about the election). In between shows I got up to cook and checked in with the news. CNN is talking about Trump losing in court again and how he will be ranting about this at every family dinner from here to eternity. Someone explains the verdict and says they would not be surprised if Trump tries to pull more foolishness during the electoral college because there are some obscure things there he could still try. Great.

Meanwhile Tucker Carlson on FOX is talking about the horrific change that could happen to this country if the democrats win the senate. Like we are all going to die. As an independent, I generally like a spilt in leadership between the house and senate. But this year? It needs to be all blue until we get some of these Trump Stooges out of office and replace them later with real republicans if there are any left.

I agree with you on the split but there is so much hatred I’ll take anything to get it to stop. Trump is so full of fury right now. I cannot imagine what he’s like in private if he’s this angry in public. Anyone have thoughts if Melania will leave him??

Definitely, and that is something I am looking forward too. I wish the divorce proceedings would be aired live. I don’t hate Melania like others do. I think she signed up for one arrangement and then suddenly was held prisoner in the White House for four years. She never wanted to be first lady or in the public eye. Again, not what she signed up for. And could not get out of it.

I was so happy to hear this last night for a few reasons. One is that it’s well-deserved. After the hell this country has gone through for the past 4 years, the new administration gives us hope for a brighter future. Two, is it will piss the hell out of Trump (and as an added bonus it’ll hurt Pence’s delicate little feelings). The third reason is that it made me smile and feel happy after a fairly crappy day.

Love it! And that the Supreme Court struck down the batshit Texas lawsuit. Shameful of them to have even filed that.
