Let me give you the back story of me and Michelle Brown. When I first started my site, I was going to talk about things going on in Atlanta. I started the site initially because my anxiety issues had just started. And I thought, it would give me something to do to get out of the house. My very first blog was about going to the mall me meet Jill Zarin. Click the link. I had no idea in hell what I was doing. But that didn’t stop me. I reached out to Michelle from Straight From The A and the editor of Reality Tea at that time. Between the two of them they would listen to any stupid question I asked and both said, “there is room for everyone and this is how you do it.” I have been grateful ever since because I was a clueless fucktard and only now starting to figure everything out.
Learning The Ropes
Michelle “Atlien” Brown was most helpful because she’s from Atlanta. So I found myself on day one with no sources at all pretty much copying her posts or Reality Tea posts and dropping a link. Which is/was fine at the time. Quoting is fine. But who the fuck is reading my blog? I really had no Idea for the first few couple of months. Anyway those are my two mentors. And Michelle told me her views at some point early on and I was SHOCKED AND AMAZED. (I’m still working toward that Michelle) . She’s amazing. Sometimes you guys call me and seem to think I am someone important. That is how I thought about Michelle. And still do to this day. I’m her biggest fan.
I hate Youtubes, videos, podcasts, anything where I cannot hear my TV. I’m a TV addict. So it takes me a lot to watch a Youtube or podcast. I say all this to say that StraightFromTheA has a TWO FUCKING HOUR YOUTUBE, PODCAST WHAT THE FUCKEVER YOU CALL IT with Peter Thomas that is must see. Not only did I not FF through the anything other that Michelle flipping through her comments for a couple of seconds. I WATCHED THE ENTIRE TWO HOURS. I also watched through the questions at the end when Peter had some technical difficulties.
TWO HOURS WATCHING A YOUTUBE? YES, YES YOU MUST FIND THE TIME
My thoughts on those two hours were, Michelle is a boss. And Peter Thomas is a boss. (and they would be a good couple, I would go to the wedding if invited). You need to watch this entire Youtube. TRUST ME. I do not watch a fifteen minute episode of a youtube. I flip through. I fast forward. And if you think you will not get more tea at the end you only have to deal with a couple of tealess calls that are fun. It’s a great show. Peter explains about that time he went to jail.
I’ve had sources who have slammed Peter. But he seemed sane, sober and smart to me on this youtube.
CHECK IT OUT AND WATCH THE WHOLE THING.
And Michelle, my dear friend, you need a new backdrop, it looks at times like a building is growing out of the top of your head to the side. I loved how you just let Peter talk about whatever came up. Love ya!
I’m with you and hate watching things on my phone or laptop. I don’t want to be chained to a device. I like it on the screen in the background while I’m doing other things. I recently realized that you can watch YouTube on most new TVs! It’s a game changer for me.
You do you . I also do not like Youtubes but this one kept me up all night. And Michelle was very smart in not saying much but letting it all play out. As her mentee I found this two hours worthy of my time.
I don’t like Michelle because she’s a one trick pony. She only talks about Nene, Peter and Apollo ( mostly in a favorable tone) and she dogs everyone else. There’s no substance to that Hater.
Why are you such a cunt?
I appreciate TT’s loyalty to someone who means a lot to her and is a mentor. She spent some time IMOP sharing with everyone why this woman means so much to her, and it came from the heart. All she was asking was for folks to watch this one YouTube. Have you (or the others trashing this woman who means something to TT) even bothered to watch the single thing she was recommending?
It seems to me that some people just used this as an opportunity to trash her mentor. Insensitive, to say the least, and yes, regardless of your personal feelings about this person who means so much to TT, rather “cunty”. If I had poured my heart out about someone who meant a lot to me, and people I give a lot to (who CLAIM to care about me) used it as a forum to trash that person, and it was MY blog, you better believe I’d clap back. Selfishness and insensitivity abounds, doesn’t it?
Yes you are. When one blogger makes a post about how much they appreciated the help from another blogger. The comments should try to make it into a hate post. So go fuck yourself and learn some basic common sense. It’s not necessary to comment on posts just to be a disrupter.
Ok what’s going on here. I don’t think for a second she would say that without reason.
She invites so much toxicity and negativity into her discussions which makes it hard to watch. I used to be a fan and watched all of her videos, then I started feeling dirty. Gossip is one thing. It’s fun and mostly light. But once you get into the dark web of her after hours patreon, you realize there are personal vendettas she’s working out and it’s not pretty:
I am sorry you feel that way. and I am sure she doesn’t care. She is building a huge business. She is smart and way smarter than me. And she had sources and tells her truth. I appreciate all she did for me. And she will always be my friend.
I don’t like watching You Tubes/videos for the most part. There are a couple of comedians videos I watch & my secret obsession is Dr Pimple popper videos but they are short. but that’s about it. I will watch because you recommended & now I’m curious.
I love your loyalty for your friend.
If you weren’t aware YouTube has a feature that let’s you playback the video at a faster rate. When I’m not viewing for recreation I generally tend to watch the videos at 1.5x speed it gets me through the videos faster with the same level of comprehension.
Wow, I didn’t know that! I’ve fallen asleep on many videos for dragging on and on, lol.
Thanks for the tip!
Also not crazy about YouTubes, podcasts and the like, but based on your recommendation, will definitely make time for this one,TT (respect you lots!). I loved reading about how you started doing this, your mentors, etc. – really interesting stuff- thank you! (not that I’m considering it- wouldn’t be for me😊). Also, I know this might not be popular, but have always found Peter to be super-smart and sexy in a bad-boy way (I know people call him a smurf, etc.). To each their own I guess…
I don’t enjoy her… I often visited her site and have watched some videos but I got turned off when she allowed things to get way too personal, for example her views on trans people (re: The Queens Court) among other topics.
Happy to be here though TT.
I watch her and sharrells world. I loveeee sharrells lives with her panel of guest hosts. They crack me
Up almost as much as reading your posts:) I’ll check this one out soon!
I’m about to take your advice and watch this 2 hr youtube. And may I say I love your site (or blog or whatever the term is, I’m old, forgive me ❤)
LOL I promise you I am older. lol. And I was just VERY impressed with Peter. I bought into the RHOA version of Peter and he was quite intelligent on that youtube. And I’m quite fond of Michelle who was very quiet on that interview. She just let Peter talk and talk and talk.
I listened to another YouTube video with Peter. It was about relationships and just life – not RHOA or his bar. He was asked about RHOA of course. His response was complimentary to the entire experience. He provided some insight without spilling tea or bashing anyone. Quite classy, lol.
Overall he was engaging and intelligent. Hell, almost sexy at one point. I was very surprised. I’ll check this interview out.
Hi TT, you are sounding sane and comfortable with the world. It’s nice to hear you seemingly doing well. Smiling at you.
Watched this starting at about 3am this morning. I’m one of those people who needs tv on all night to sleep (not sure why) and they all went dark for some reason. Anyway, tuned into this, watched the whole thing. At first I thought my dear Peter had just woken up, or was drunk/high or something, but that didn’t last long.
Gotta say- it was RIVETING- so good! He is one cool, savvy, sexy guy (sorry- just my taste in men I guess- the Jamaican thing also gets me big-time). Felt like I wanted to go out and start a bar empire myself (or find a man who has one, lol). Also, he’s opening up a bar in my beloved hometown- Baltimore, in an areas where the waterfront has been controlled by white businesses despite the city being 70% Black- much, much respect to Peter!!! For this loyal B-More girl- this was a real treat.
And I loved Michelle- she was so cool to let him have it- had she talked more, it would have interrupted a great flow….
I’ve only watched the first hour so far, buy I’ve really enjoyed the interview/discussion. Peter Thomas is a smart man, and it’s sad that he was painted to be somewhat of a villian during his time on the show, and it’s really too bad no one but Kandi and Todd have made smart financial decisions as they’ve made Bravo and the production company so much money over the years. Glad his business ventures are doing better than we’ve been lead to believe in the past, and hope he continues to be successful.
