RHOC Recap: An Unexpected Secret

RHOOC RHOC Recap
(Photo by: Tommy Garcia/Yavir Ramawtar/Bravo RHOC Recap)

Wednesday night is so jam packed with good shows it is ridiculous for Bravo to expect me to do a RHOC recap in any sort of a timely way. The Amazing Race episode I just recapped was one of the best shows I have seen since quarantine. I am not going to miss it for RHOC. RHOC did not go into quarantine so we will at least get to see Shannon Storms and her whole famdamily get the COVID. I could have sworn Kelly Dodd said they didn’t get the COVID in Orange County.

One of my Tweeps is strongly campaigning for a boycott of this season because Kelly Dodd is a racist. This is because someone gave her a DRUNK WIVES MATTER hat at her bridal shower. Really? That is what makes her a racist? I done tole y’all she was a racist before she filmed her first scene! I firmly expected her to be fired then. Kelly Dodd has been a racist her entire life!  And she’s not the only one on this show… Let’s just get to it.

RHOC Recap

 A Change Is Gonna Come

Way they start with some flashbacks to RHOC gone by, that now includes Vicki and Tamra but they go back even further. And they will all be wrapped in virginal white dresses this season it seems. Who is doing the talking? The new girl?

Shannon has a new man, John who seems nice enough I guess. And she has a new house. John has three older kids and they are one big happy family that does not live together. On of Shannon’s kids as a lot of ear piercings. I feel like that is a cry for help. IJS. But Shannon, John and all six kids seem very happy.

Rick and Kelly and Kelly’s daughter are also getting along. And Kelly just married Rick last weekend. Kelly’s daughter is 13 and suddenly a handful. Kelly deserves this. They take Rick to get his tarot read.

Gina has a new house and is apparently not in a casita anymore. Shannon brought her a housewarming gift…nine lemons in a bowl.  It’s actually a normal person’s house. These two bond over their hatred for Braunwyn. I can’t even remember who I hated yesterday let alone who hates who on this show. Kelly and Braunwyn are both moving into “Shannon’s neighborhood.”

RHOC Recap

Meet The New Girl

Kelly and Braunwyn are off to pick up the new girl, Elizabeth. I haven’t paid any attention to her at all. During this pandemic, I’m doing the best I can to post at all. Kelly is the designated housewife to introduce Elizabeth. Apparently, they used to be next door neighbors. She’s rich. When this was filmed, her beautiful beach house seemed to be a LONG way to the beach. I mean she is on the beach and there is nothing built between her house and the ocean, but that’s a very low tide or there is some sort of inability to build due to sinking sand or something. It’s a beautiful view with cactus and stuff. There is a bike path super close to her deck and the ladies flirt with the teenagers.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE RHOC RECAPS!

Elizabeth’s billionaire ex had a kid with someone else. She wanted a kid and he didn’t so that was basically the end of the relationship. Elizabeth’s neighbor shows up on a bike to return Kelly’s crockpot. I’m bored. Across town, Emily and Shane celebrate their 11th anniversary. I don’t think this will need a new paragraph. So, let’s just watch.

I’m So Bored

I get it, they all live in the same Newport Beach community now. Shannon walks over to see Braunwyn’s new house. It’s very pretty. They moved because they needed more space. Is this show ever going to start? Kelly and Braunwyn go to hot yoga. I sort of miss that torture. But not that much. It’s quarantine. Too much wine and too much ice cream is really all we have. A lot of emphasis has been put on Braunwyn’s drinking. As if any of these woman have the right to judge. Gina has gained her quarantine 15 BEFORE quarantine so God bless her she’s going to have to double down on yoga if this shit ever ends.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE RHOC RECAPS!

Shannon and Kelly hate each other at the moment. Elizabeth is getting a bit more interesting. She married some old billionaire and got enough money to start her own business and then dumped him. That seems to be her version. Braunwyn, Kelly and Shannon meet up. I know this recap is disjointed. Most of it is the choppy editing and the rests is this is like the fourth hour of my recaps in a row. They all seem to come on the same night and I have two more hours of recapping to go. Le sigh. Kelly and Shannon are trying to make up. Kelly gave Shannon a deck of Uno cards because her other two tres amigas are gone. These two have no place to go so they make up.

Winding Things Down

Gina likes new boyfriend,  Travis. Gina and Matt have decided to divorce amicably and get along and co-parent. Things are calming down on the lawsuit/restraining order front and they all just want to get along for the sake of the kids. We shall see how long that lasts.

Braunwyn and Emily make amends. Emily has had a hip replacement. It was barely mentioned. Braunwyn lets us know that her real problem at the moment is that she is getting a divorce. I would reckon this sort of thing happens when your husband has a “love nest” near his office. Or maybe I am out to far in the story line and Braunwyn start saying she has a drinking problem and doesn’t plan to drink because she is an alcoholic. I hope Braunwyn feels better soon.

The previews look depressing. I don’t think we are ever going to get out of this. PLEASE VOTE.

I’m early voting tomorrow. Please vote as safely as you can.

I can’t deal with this today, but I won’t miss a RH recap from Tamara . I helped my grandma host a safely distanced water color class for her friends now that the senior center is closed. It was realllly so cute honestly but I’m tired. Somehow my grandpa(who is 94) was trying to use a circular saw and almost cut a finger off. So I was on birdhouse building duty also.

I’ll give the first episode a shot tomorrow, but I don’t think I care to watch any more of Kelly. Not because of one thing specifically. Everything the does bothers me.

I was going to early vote today aka yesterday. But we have a three week window here in GA and I am going to spend a few days getting a chair that is easy to move and a backpack ( I should have one of those somewhere full of ice/water and snacks for those around me. It’s so bad here that my favorite charity World City Kitchen is trying to feed and water some of those in line, but there are way too many lines to feed. Some people are waiting for seven hours. I wish I was healthy enough to go give them all water and food. 🙁

How did I miss Braunwyn getting a divorce? I still hate Kelly but her daughter has really blossomed into a very pretty girl, I was worried for her. Whoever did makeup and lighting for the talking heads should be shot, they all look horrible. The narrator in the beginning sounded like Jeena from way back to me.

Yea I thought the narrator was Jeana Keough. I watched because the screeching bitch Vicki Gunvalson is gone. No more whoop it up, love tank and three amigos thank you Bravo for doing one thing right.
I had trouble staying focused on it tonight. Maybe it will get better. I just really soured on this show after Vicki and the cancer scam. Maybe I can get interested again. Bravo let her stay too long. I did see where Kelly is saying on Instagram she is feeling sick. Claims she got a cold from Jolie but said they were all sick there and Shannon dropped off some supplements & vitamins w/a note. So they must be on good terms.

I agree, I thought it we Jeana Keough’s voice as well. Will they keep this lead in all season? I hope not!
I didn’t find tonight’s episode to be too bad. I’m interested in seeing how this season plays out.
I’m guess Elizabeth owns part of the land on the other side of the boardwalk. Watching a preview clip she mentioned her boyfriend planted the cactus garden.

I think it was brave of Brawnwyn to acknowledge that she is an alcoholic. That takes a lot of huzpah! I wish her well on her recovery. Kelly’s daughter is growing into a beautiful young lady. Shannon hasn’t changed at all still loud & obnoxious just like Kelly, that’s why they clash! Lol Gina seems happier with this new guy & Emily is just a sweet person! But this episode was a snooze ?
fest! I almost shut it off! The new chick seems like she is fun. Why cover the face of her ex? She did mention his name, the creep! ?
Hope it picks up otherwise I’ll have to dump this one too! Peace ✌

Apparently that WAS Jeanne Keough, doing a little voice cameo. Did I imagine things, or do we finally see Matt in the previews?

There was a lot of table-setting in this first episode, so I guess we’ll see how it all goes down.

I think that was Matt in one of the preview scenes. Interesting that he will film now that they are not together. Does he get paid for filming? Do the husbands, boyfriends, children get some kind of stipend for being in some of scenes?

I can’t watch this franchise anymore. I’m not sure how I mustered through the last couple seasons except maybe nostalgia for the OG franchise. No interest in watching OC being represented (as a county or franchise) with how they have handled things the last 6 months. Came back to my OG blogger just for this recap and you did not disappoint TT. I hope you take Kelly to task this season. The rhetoric she touts is ignorant, uneducated and dangerous.
I didn’t watch the episodes but heard second hand in the industry that OC RH was filming some things themselves. Maybe that’s why it was so boring? Also They wouldn’t be able to get permits for filming so that is also why they probably kept in Own neighborhoods and houses. I’m sure they will be out soon enough sans masks without a care.
Oh and love you are recalling Amazing Race. I’m gonna have to record it so I can read.

Shannon got COVID and had to film her own scenes for a while. Some of the others had to do their own talking heads for a bit…just like on RHOBH.

I wonder if Brawyn (?) however you spell her name is really getting a divorce or if it just a storyline. I say that because a “west coast housewife with a seemingly perfect marriage is actually going through a divorce” has been a blind item on multiple other places. It comes across like a planted, plotted story and it is sad because they have a ton of kids. And if it is real it still sad because they have a ton of kids.

I love that new RH Elizabeth has a malamute and is starting some kind of dog rescue/sanctuary with her money. I can easily imagine three years of depression after the husband not only cheated, but DENIED her the dream of having a child with HIM, then cheated and had a baby with side piece. She didn’t have to go along with the no child, but when you love someone, you make some compromises you may regret later. NEVER make a MAN your dream! Learned the hard way…

I respect Braunwyn for apologizing — a REAL apology, not a Ramona — to Emily AND for facing her alcoholism. On WWHL, she said she is on the outs with ALL of the OC RHs right now… When a person starts drinking or drugging at a young age, we STAY that age in emotional maturity. I wonder if that is part of the problem. I HOPE she doesn’t go back to drinking again. If her marriage is falling apart, there is too much turmoil to balance alcohol in her state.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who was bored through a great deal of the show last night. So far I like Elizabeth. Anyone who loves animals enough to want to start a dog sanctuary is OK in my book. I would be much happier if Kelly wasn’t a part of this cast. Her unnecessary talk about how great her guy is in the sack annoyed the crap out of me. I’m old enough to know that the ones who are bragging about all the great sex their having are usually stretching the truth.

The first episode was a big meh.

I do not enjoy Kelly at all- she’s crass especially with her constant talk about her sex life. Her daughter needs to be on birth control PRONTO.

Emily and Shane make me cringe . How these two even conceived children is beyond me.

Shannon looks like a chicken running around without a head trying to portray the perfect relationship.

Gina, Gina Gina you’ve been miscast … Jersey is calling.

Braunwyn is not only addicted to alcohol but she also addicted to the swinger lifestyle.

The new girl… Don’t remember her name, I don’t care.

I wasn’t expecting much but it was better than I expected. Jeanna on the opening was a nice addition. I really liked and missed her on this show. I also really enjoyed seeing all the men and their relationships. I feel that’s the way the shows should be with relationships and all of the families It was a nice change. It reminded me of the older shows when the franchise was new. Shannon and John were on Jeff Lewis Live today as the guests. There was no mention of David and his new marriage.

I had planned on boycotting the show but caved at the last minute. I was surprised. Pleasantly. I really didn’t need or want to know how many time Kelly has sex with Rick and how “flexible” she is in the bedroom. Barf – too much TMI. I always side-eye someone like that. It’s like trying to convince everyone everything is REALLY REALLY good when it’s not. However, I DO like Gina. I feel for her and she is blunt and honest but kind at the same time, which I admire. I loved seeing Shannon’s new home, it looked so comfy. Braundwyn….well maybe she needs to grow on me. Overall, it was not a bad start to a new season. I did not miss Tamra the fake at ALL. Did anyone see that Andy sent Vicky flowers and of course Tamra made it all about her and commented on Vicky’s post with “where’s my flowers Andy?” Ugh.

I actually kinda liked this episode. I had forgotten a lot of their allegiances and I think they were setting the stage and new relationships now that Tamra and Vicki are gone. It was nice just to see rich girls doing rich girl things in their rich girl houses. That’s why I watch, right? I think? It also reminded me that there will be a time when I’m done having kids and I can just chill again…

I thought the last scene with Brawnwyn was really powerful. I have several clients right now who are really struggling with alcoholism, which has been even harder with COVID and isolation. They each – at some point – expressed the same fears that Brawnwyn did. It was real, raw, and authentic. I watched it twice and didn’t hear the divorce comment, but she did say her husband threatened her with rehab.

I had it on but didn’t sit and watch – what’s with the new girl having her tits out all the way to her belly button? I live in Corona del Mar, (Newport Beach) and yes, that beach area isn’t exactly beautiful – but it’s a beach. These women are pathetic. The amount of drinking is disgusting. They actually closed the Petco in Newport Beach and put in a wine store. Yes. Why? Does Newport really need more alcoholics? I didn’t miss Vicki and her screeching. I didn’t miss Tamra and her lying. Kelly needs to stop talking about sex all the time. It’s tacky. Thanks for the recap TT cuz I don’t think I’m gonna keep watching. They are all so thirsty and I don’t mean for alcohol. Oh, Brawnyn needs to get to AA which will then change the dynamics of their marriage and that’s never good if that creepy husband is not on board.

This episode was so slow I almost fell asleep. I did however have the OC marathon in the background while working on Wednesday and Braunwyn’s husband said her look needed a cocktail and she seemed kind of annoyed and said no, but was plowed later in the night at her daughter’s event. That really struck me as odd before I even knew she had a drinking problem. I hope she’s really getting a divorce.
