Look at me trying to get a MDLLA recap up on the night that it airs! Tonight is the season finale, so it was my last shot at being on time. I wonder what will be on Bravo next Tuesday night? Maybe I’ll have Tuesdays off for a couple of weeks? Will we get to see Fredrik tonight? That is my favorite part.
Ah we start with the guys having to do their own confessionals just like the housewives did once Covid hit. I love seeing them struggle to bring on their own cameras. That is why RHOBH took that hiatus because someone had to come around and collect all the cameras from the RHOBH homes. And then go edit everything once they were all done rather than as they went along. It was a big mess. But at least we got the seasons in. I’m going to miss this franchise even though I don’t really know what to say when blogging about it sometimes.
Josh Altman & Tracy Tutor
This unlikely duo is on the way to try to list the Barrymore Estate. That’s pretty amazing. The grounds alone are stunning. They call the property Seabright. Donna is the seller. Did I mention the grounds are amazing? There is a huge pool with a deep end of 13ft. It’s surround by lots of patio area and lush greenery. It’s totally like a resort. The interior is about 7,000 square feet. The cigar room has a redwood floor. It’s literally slices of redwood trunks that make a gorgeous floor of round slices. It’s illegal to chop down redwoods now. The floors and tiles are all original. I WANT THIS HOUSE. I love everything about it. Sadly, I expect the agents to want to “update” everything. That should be criminal. Welp there Josh goes with the updating. I can’t believe there are 11 bathrooms in this 1920s house.

Next up, is the opium den. Follows by the telephone room, the library, and a whole extra house as an addition. The house has been on the market multiple times with not a lot of interest. Tracy wants to be in charge of staging the house to make it appeal to more buyers. They eventually list the house for just under $17 million. Of course while I am recapping my tech support is helping me with some site issues so this may not in fact get out timely.
The Showings
Because the house is so unusual, the opt not to have open houses for buyers or brokers and show everyone individually. One of Josh’s clients must be eight feet tall. I’m not kidding. I have a brother who is 6’9″ and he would look short next to this guy. He’s a good two and a half, maybe three feet taller than Josh. Altman is not really great at showing houses. He’s no Flagg when it comes to showing historical homes. Tracy is much better at showing the property.
The Brits
James and David have a listing appointment in Hidden Valley, a gate community where tons of stars live. Maurico Umanksy arrives to join them and the chyron announces him as “James and David’s boss.” The three guys meet Joan, the developer. Somehow this is brand new construction. They must have torn down the old place. It’s really pretty inside as you would imagine in this neighborhood. Mauricio says that Kyle would be so happy if he bought her a la Cornue stove. They cost anywhere from 10K to 60K!

Where is Josh Altman’s client from last week? This place has a ten car parking garage with turntables to really be insanely ostentatious. I’m sure it is well out of his price range, but still. This place is insane. Now I know why Mauricio is there. It’s 12,000 square feet which was twice the size of everything else in the neighborhood. She wants 23 million. The agents want it under 20 million. That is also why Mauricio is there. So the list it just a hair under 20 million.
The HUGE Open House
The Brits open house has a James Bond theme to honor all of the English touches in the house. The garage on this house is twice the size of my house. Literally. Flagg and his husband Bobby pick up Tracy Tutor to ride together. Since Tracy’s house sold and she hasn’t found a new one, she is renting a house just a couple doors down from Flagg and they have been spending a lot of time together. So this is the all cast end of season event. That means it will be a bunch of one upping and down playing each other.
Endnotes
And it looks like we are not going to find out if either featured house sold this week. They are already doing endnotes. David’s daughter turned two in quarantine. He says she is the best thing in the world. Josh Flagg has been trying to up his cooking skills during quarantine. He was trying to “bake a chicken” (it’s roast a chicken) and Bobby told him he had to wash the chicken first (you really just need to rinse out the inside and pat it all dry) he claims he used soap. That schtick was already used by Adrienne Maloof. Flagg sold $302 million in listing last year and close three new deals while social distancing.

Josh Altman has been enjoying time with his kids during quarantine. He also sold Eva Longoria’s Hollywood compound and picked up $87 million in listings. James has been working out during quarantine. He also The Brits have closed six deals in quarantine and picked up three new listings. Tracy has been working out and enjoying her new home. She and Altman have removed the Barrymore estate from the market until quarantine is over.
And that’s a wrap on this season!
I’ll miss this show. I’ve grown to love Josh Flagg and seeing him and Altman get along is a joy. Thanks for the recap! I just finished watching and came here to catch up.
I wish Josh Flagg had been the one with the Barrymore House listing, because he is the one who loves these old houses. Maybe Edith would have met him there in the opium room. Boy … if THAT house could talk!
I agree. Josh Flagg really knows real estate history and appreciates it.
You can tell by the houses he has bought and lived in during the years.
Plus, he speaks better than the rest of them.
Did Josh Altman have have an English class?
I just cringe when he says something like she “asked Tracy and I . . . “
Thanks to the recap..I’m sad this season is over. It was nice seeing Mauricio on there as well! Maybe he will be on a little next season as he’s James and David’s new boss.
Thank you for reminding me that it was Adrienne Malouf who washed the chicken with soap!
I was wracking my brain.
I wonder if my beloved Josh saw that episode and subconsciously remembered it.
In my insomnia, I discovered that Bravo is showing Season 1 of RHoBH.
It’s nice to see them all (kinda) getting along!
I wasn’t sure I would like Flagg without Grandma Edith around but I love that taught him so much about appreciating the older homes and fostered his love of life and travel. I do miss seeing her though.
I was glad to see this recap this morning, TT. Thank you. I fell asleep on the sofa during the last 15 minutes or so, and missed the ending.
Love this show. Proves people can be competitors and still act cordially. Plus the houses……
Josh should show that Barrymore estate. He has encyclopedic knowledge about Old Hollywood. I’m gonna miss this show. TT, perfect recap!!!
This show is fun. It’s nice to watch a reality TV show where no one is defaming anyone’s character or trying to tear a marriage [email protected]
Such a great season – so glad I came back to this show!!!
Love the real estate and love the maturity of everyone!!!
Yes! They are competitive, but do not spend the majority of an episode fighting with each other! It’s definitely house porn, as I will never live in a a $15 million dollar house, but such fun to watch. I love Flagg, the Brits, and Josh Altman has gotten more mellow with his kids. Tracy kind of bugs me, but is that because she is a driven woman and I am buying into stereotypes? I’m not sure. But I will definitely keep watching on Bravo- one of the few series I still watch 🙂
I’ve been thinking about what you said about Tracy. That was an interesting observation, and maybe I should check myself there as well, stereotypes that is. If she got the house in the divorce then selling it for what she got using her influence through the show, well, that’s just well done. Good for her and her children.
I know I’m in the minority, but I love Altman and Flagg together. When they are forced to work together, it’s the best.
I really don’t think you’re in the minority, and if you are, I got your back Tiffananny.
This was my first season watching the show and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The real estate was crazy and I love California, so it was a win win for me. I am also getting used to the characters yet the only one I know by name is Tracy and she is a super agent in my eyes. I can’t believe the commissions these people make. In Texas we are lucky to gross 15k in commission the highest I know of someone getting is 56k ad that was on a 2 million dollar house.
I too wish Josh Flagg had the Barrymore house, he’s such a pleasure to listen to when he is in his element. Curious, I recall the Brits being famously sober but they seemed to order martinis last night. Did anyone else recall the same? Thanks for the recap!
Oh man there’s a lot in this season. Let’s just say this is one of my favorite seasons of the listing franchises. I just adored watching it. I never thought I would grow to like Altman, but every one of the scenes with him and Flagg were quite frankly nothing short of endearing.
Altman has grown a lot and I know that has a lot to do with his wife, which incidentally is one of my favorite people on this show. Sounds crazy, I know, but I really like her. I watched her watch her husband run his meeting and it was clear she was tuned in to every aspect of the meeting dynamic including the production aspects. She’s a sharp cookie, and I like that about her.
Flagg kind of walks around seemingly aloof, but just under the surface lies of wealth of awareness that occasionally pops up to the top, and you just stop and watch it, and think, where did that come from, but it’s there always. And he’s funny, and I love the way he kept teasing Altman all season because, you know, he’s got a gorgeous husband he isn’t trying to hit on Altman, he’s just making his friendship feeling public. It’s funny, In an alternate universe Flagg’s Husband and Altman’s wife would be married. Yeah I like Flagg’s husband as well. I tend to like the houses Flagg likes, and I agree with the others that think Flagg should have that Altman/Tracy Top Gun director house listing. He would do a much better job of it. I mean the way it was staged in many ways actually made that house look worse not better. Flagg would have had that place declaring and rejoicing in its glory.
The Brits I don’t think I get them. And as an Anglophile that really makes me wonder why. I mean they’re not bad, or anything, just not my favorites. I mean there’s an agent I discuss below I would rather see as a regular. Not that I would necessarily want them fired mind. I really don’t have a problem with them. I just don’t find them all that engaging.
Tracy is along the same lines for me. It’s not that I don’t like her, and it’s not that she doesn’t have her moments, and she shows some nice property porn, but it just feels like it’s a dime a dozen, like she could easily be replaced and I wouldn’t necessarily know the difference.
This one is going to be on the touchy side for you I think TT. I’m not particularly a fan of Frederick, I never really have been, I don’t hate him, I just think he’s ridiculously over the top, and frequently contrived. I was glad they didn’t feature him that much on this show this season, and hope they don’t show him at all in future seasons because if they do it’ll be clear he’ll be introduced to create drama, and this season without it between the agents was pretty damn good. I don’t remember a Bravo show I’ve enjoyed so much among any of its franchises.
If they need another agent to come on board than I hope it’s Tony the agent Tracy was in negotiations with. I liked him. I liked the way he handled himself.

BLASPHEMY! I NEED MY SMELLING SALTS! I am incredulous at your lack of taste! 🙂 Someone needs to revoke you gay card.
I like the Brits. Even though I can never remember which is which. I think Fredrik should take Tracy’s spot. I need Fredrik on both the NY and LA franchises.
As for that gay card the Marine Corps confiscated it, shredded it, burned it, buried it 13 foot under, exhumed it burned it again, spread it over seven seas then suddenly sent me a set of gold plated dog tags containing a third one specifically acknowledging gay card status, and that ain’t going no where! ;0)~
The Brits, I just don’t get them, are they gay, straight? What? I suppose I don’t need to know, but when I start seeing them posted with their daughters, and what not I begin to think they’re a gay couple, but maybe they’re not, but they sort of relate that way so … where are they on that? I don’t know. Don’t really care either, they’re ok. They’re the most quick to be honest about pricing with their clients which I think means something.
I AM TOTALLY YANKING YOUR GAY CARD! I get our gaydar doesn’t work well on foreigners, but they are NOT GAY. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? 🙂
Surely you know the phrase Gay? or European? In this case the answer is British. xoxo
Lol, well then here’s to the most portrayed gay, non-gay couple on any Bravo franchise, and I say that in the most nice way possible wishing no harm on any one.
Hello, Spirit Animal. I agree. Although not a popular opinion (again), I do not like Fredrik. I don’t really know why, I just don’t.
GAY GASP! /clutches pearls!
I love this show and the NY show. The Josh’s are great together. I love hat Josh A has lightened up somewhat. OMW that Barrymore house!!!!!! I don’t know if I love it or hate it! It was something else. That REDWOOD room! WOW!
I think the MDL is the best shows on Bravo now . I love that there is a competition between them but not hatred. I hope Fredrick doesn’t stir the pot to much LOL
Since I don’t play the lottery, I don’t see myself ever having $20 million dollars, but WOW, I loved that house that David and James had listed. I especially loved the pool, but the whole house was stunning!! Not sure I could live there though because I have that thing when I’m up high that I feel like I’m holding myself back from jumping. I have a feeling I’d keep thinking about doing cannonball into the pool from the top balcony… which obviously would be a terrible idea! However, if I could have that house I would risk it.
I’m so done with the Housewives. MDLLA is one of the only shows I really enjoy on Bravo now. It seems like each season, the houses get better and better. And I agree with the other posters here that it’s been nice to have it just be positive this season.
