While I am currently in a waking stage; but feel like I need to go back to bed again, I thought I would at least get caught up on MAFS recaps. I have this 90 minute episode and two more hours of MAFS Australia to get through. I shall keep on slogging through it because, I actually like this show. This episode looks good.
Amelia & Bennett
I love this couple. When Amelia asks Bennett why he got married at first sight, he said, “Because YOLO, you know? You only love once.” LOL. Amelia explains that is not what YOLO stands for. These two are so adorable. There is a lot of conversation about raising children. OMG! I hate iguanas. Amelia wants to kiss it. There has never been a more perfect couple in the world. On their last night there they build a blanket fort and talk about their nervousness going back to the real world. Amelia falls asleep while he was talking to her. TWICE.
Amani & Woody
Woody is working hard to win Amani over. She is enjoying the honeymoon but already concerned about being back in New Orleans. Later they go on a date where he drives a crazy dune buggy date. He will be driving she will be a passenger. She’s nervous. I’m nervous for her. I don’t like riding in cars with someone else driving. Too many of y’all have road rage. This looks terrifying. I was thinking how all that bouncing would kill my back. The first things she said when it was over was, “You’re definitely going to have to rub my back tonight.
On their last night Woody had the hotel room set up with rose petals and candles and they get in their hot tub in their bathing suits. It worked and they had sex on the last night of their honeymoon.
Olivia & Brett
It’s day five of their marriage and I am surprised these two have made it this far. How long until the real Brett shows up? Amani and Olivia are close so the planned a get together so their husbands could meet. Amani is already on to Brett. Olivia is in for a shock. Brett just found out that Olivia makes more than twice what he does. Olivia is a nurse practitioner. She is so much more mature than he is.
The date for these two was to go quasi-scuba diving and pet sting rays. Why do people want to do this? Don’t we have enough things trying to kill us right now? Do we really need to seek out more ways to die?
Christina & Henry
I feel like I might have missed the previous episode of this show. The DVR is not recording properly like 20% of the time. So I don’t really remember what their major malfunction is. Christina is a little bitchy today. Henry uses the term impatient. Nope. It’s bitchy. She’s quite curt to the producers. If she is this irritated with life in paradise, they won’t last a week back in NOLA. She wants Henry to be more of the aggressor and “push her to do things.” Frankly, Henry seems terrified of her. She literally leaves no room for him to take charge. She’s bossy. Henry is pretty introverted, to the point I wonder why he decided to do this. In her interviews she says, “Make a move already. COULD I BE MORE CLEAR? She angry that she is going to have to make the first move. It’s DAY FIVE!
Later, these two go paddleboarding. Henry was very tentative at first since he had never done it before. Christina kind of took off without him at first but then he passed her. She wiped out. Slow and steady wins the race.
Karen & Miles
Miles opens up to Karen on the beach and tells her that he has clinical depression. This is a red flag for Karen. Miles says that after one of his teammates passed away, he became much more open to sharing his feelings. Karen says to production that this is a red flag for her because she wanted a strong man. She’s not really excited about talking about his big fat feelings. This is the one who Googled and wasn’t going to marry him. I missed a lot of that situation.
All Couples Meet At The Beach Bar
My DVR totally shit the bed at this point and so I went on On Demand and fast forwarded through to this part. Christina is still kind of bitchy and seems very disappointed in Henry. Especially when the other couples talk about their strong connections. Everyone rates their marriage on a scale of one to ten. Everyone of course except Brett. He seems pissed by the question and he says he is not going to rate a relationship that only exists based on a series of staged events.” Then he overhears Olivia say she’d give it a seven. That pissed him off. Then Christina says it’s a five for her. Henry gives it a seven.
Later, Christina pulls Olivia aside to warn her about Brett. I agree that Brett usually either says all the right thing. Or gets huffy. She’s seen these red flags before. Olivia isn’t very receptive. Keep your eyes open, Christina. So far two of the other brides see it. Back at the hotel room Brett is giving Olivia the cold shoulder. He’s pouting because he feels like she called HIM a seven. It seems to have crushed his soul. Christina goes to the bathroom and cries. Then next morning he apologizes and explains why he was upset.
OOOOOOH The next episode looks gooood. It’s probably almost time for it! It’s couples counseling. Brett pitches a fit and it looks like Karen is going to break Miles’ heart.
