Okay I’ve been awake for another whopping five hours and that means I’m starting to nod off again. But I am so behind on my 90 Day recaps in general that I at least have to get this 90 Day Fiance The Other Way recap up.
Deavan & Jihoon
When last we left these two Drascilla was running away from the park. It’s also nighttime, why isn’t she in bed? I wish I had some of that Korean soup. There is an Asian restaurant near me with like three different nationalities of food. I keep wondering why I don’t go there for pickup. I don’t think they deliver. But that make a million kinds of pho that is delicious. Anyway, Jihoon actually did run after Drascilla like a bat out of hell. But somehow her running off is all his fault? Deavan’s mom was actually the one with her at the time.
I am actually on Jihoon’s over protective mother’s side on this one. There were five adults there. And somehow this is all Jihoon’s fault? Sure, Jihoon is an idiot. But what about the other four or five adults there? Deavan’s mom is a bitch who is making things worse. Jihoon is crying his eyes out. He’s getting tired of being treated like shit. Jihoon’s mom shows up to comfort him and he sends her away. It’s an issue with the two of them. Wow, that was one of the first grownup moves by Jihoon.
Jihoon wants to apologize to Deavan’s mother. I wouldn’t even bother. She’s awful. Nevertheless, he persisted. Elicia is so fucking dramatic. And just awful. She doesn’t accept his apology. I hate Deavan’s mother. She doesn’t even know how to properly spell a child’s name on her birth certificate. Then she threatens to kill Jihoon. Is she drunk? Also, did Elicia forget to put on pants?
Ari & Bini
Ethiopia looks so interesting. Should I go there? Bini and his family meet at a coffee shop to discuss his job as a dancer. It ended his last relationship and his sister says it might end this one. Ya think? No man of mine would be out doing sexual dances with his ex-girlfriend at a club for money. Bini is totally clueless about how Ari and her mother feel about his job. His family is worried that history will repeat itself and Ari will go back home with the baby. His mama wants him with an Ethiopian. I can understand that.
The issue of religion is coming into play as well, Ari is Jewish. Bini and his family are Christian. This will be a big problem for all involved. Will she need to be baptized for the baby to be baptized? Because as jew, I don’t see that happening. Then it is church day. In Libya that is Friday. I got so confused as a kid coming back to church on Sunday. Friday makes so much more sense to me. The business week starting on Sunday makes the calendar make sense. The first day of the week on a calendar is always Sunday even here.
Anyway Bini buys Ari a scarf to cover her head. Oh wait! She is not Jewish. Her mother is Catholic and her FATHER is Jewish. As I understand it that means she is not Jewish. I don’t know much about Judaism so… we shall see. She doesn’t believe in hell? I’m not sure I do either, but if believe in the Bible, it’s kind of clear. It’s made clear to Bini that Ari will have to be baptized before the baby is born so he can suckle on a Christian breast. Ari is not happy.
Armando & Kenny
Oh! I had no expectation of getting to see these two tonight! YAY! It’s time for a fancy dinner to celebrate the engagement. Armando can’t stop smiling and I love he has supportive friends there. But Kenny always manages to fuck things up. This time it is because Armando doesn’t want to be openly gay in public. For fucksake, give the guy a break! Let him enjoy this moment! Kenny is always pushing Armando. Kenny is ruining the celebration.
Brittany & Yazan
Wow I have never seen coffee made like that before! When we would travel around overseas, my parents would always get Nescafe. There wasn’t a lot of brewed coffee most places. I would always order tea with sugar and this always seemed to please people. Especially in the UK. But Libyan shawhee (tea) with peanuts was always my favorite. Tripoli has the best tea. Oh no. Is Brittany going to have round number two with Yazan’s family? At least she is dressed as a Muslim woman this time. It’s sort of a do or die situation with Yazan’s uncle.
So it is off to the uncle’s house. Just a reminder, this bitch is still married to some other dude who lives out of the country. The uncle tries to advocate on their behalf, but it is not going well. I could swear with the ten Arabic words I know the uncle said something about entering the garden. Perhaps that is a metaphor? His father eventually agrees to give them more time.
Jenny & Sumit
This little one hour episode is taking us everywhere and I am loving it. Sumit has brought paint to their new house. It is home improvement time. Who picks brown wall paint? Sumit apparently. During this home improvement scene, Sumit shares that his parents are ready to talk. Jenny is worried because they are supposed to visit his parents house. She suspects it may be a trap to take him hostage in their house. Wow. Sumit does little to relieve her worries. It looks like Jenny may not go with him. Their red accent wall needs four more coats of paint.
Thanks for reading and please let me know in comments if this is a show you still want recapped. /tap tap is this thing on?
