Y’all.  I am trying to go to sleep. And yes, it is morning but my sleep schedule is all kinds of fucked at this point. And maybe it is  because I am trying to stop fangirling out that Mark Mckinnon FUCKING DMED ME ON TWITTER. It wasn’t anything inappropriate in case his significant other is reading. Also, I am not attractive but I had direct connect with Mark Mckinnon!!!!

If you have cable and Showtime set your DVR to watch THE CIRCUS. It best show ever. No matter what your political view is I think you will like it. Even if you are like me and really just don’t give a fuck anymore you will like this show. I promise.

And Mark Mckinnon only DMed to say he runs his own site. lol. BUT STILL I want it on my grave site tham Mark McKinnion DMED ME.

Okay off to try and sleep more Banjo is trying to die in my bedroom. We are clearly in disagreement about this. I have been sleeping on the couch for YEARS to be in the same room as him.  I set up a whole nother bed for Him in my room that he would never sleep in and now that is new favorite place.

Idk if this is open forum but I feel the need to make a primal scream. Like yelling from the rooftops until I have no voice. I’m so angry about the circus that our lives have become.

One of my kids starts in person class today at Oklahoma State University. They gave zero options to go online to upper classmen. Over the weekend several football players tested positive and they are still planning on playing football. The Pi Phi house has been shut down and quarantined with 23 positive cases and they also had outside visitors. The school did not notify parents of any of this.

My kid went to get her school supplied covid gear for the semester and they each got one one-ply mask and one ounce of hand sanitizer for the semester.

If kid drops out, loses scholarships and financial aid. They are forcing kids who are scared (along with parents and teachers) to do this in person.

Dr. Birx was in Oklahoma yesterday and saying what a great job they are doing. These people never even really shut down like the rest of the country and opened right back up. Only about half the people even wear masks (and half is being generous). They eat inside restaurants like nothing is wrong. They have parties and don’t fine bars that open.

I’m crying and begging my kid to drop out and we’ll figure it out later. Because, if kid gets sick, can’t expose my mom. I feel like I have to choose between my parent and my child. I’m not doing great health wise either.

I know I’m not alone in being in this situation as many schools start back today. But it’s insanity and IT’S NOT FUCKING FAIR!!!

The science is there. Why are so many idiots fucking it up for the rest of us?

IDGI AND I AM LOSING MY SHIT!

WTF!! – no options to go online to upper classmen….SERIOUSLY – I am losing my shit in sympathy with you.

You need to pause and breathe, and understand that you do not have to choose between your parent and your child – these are circumstances out of your control and that is fecking scary.

I have faith- Like Mother – Like Daughter – The three of you have got this covered – you just need to breathe.

      Fecking Cockwombleing Cunts.

May the sunshine of comfort shine through the gloom of despair.

PS. If any of those football players are heading towards a full time career I doubt they will be allowed to play – for many medical reasons – lung scars immediately come to mind.

The 3 of you are a trinity cross – a traditional triquetra symbol accompanied by a circle.

The circle can be interpreted as a symbol of eternity, whether that be the eternity of God’s love or the eternal circle of life.

        IJC – You got this.

Is she a senior? Transferring will set her back tons, trust me. Can you talk to your family doctor and get a note of some kind (anxiety maybe?) to excuse her from class so the school has to work with her to provide her video access to classes?

Bless you! Both of mine are now out of college and I’m so thankful because I would be like you. I’m not one of those people that say oh but we have to live our lives, don’t live in fear, etc….and yes, for the people who say give it to God…we should turn things over to Him, BUT I believe HE expects us to use our brains. If there is the slightest chance masks work then wear the damn masks. We have adapted for yrs to seat belts, dress codes, etc. I wish people would stop being so combative and I wish the elected officials in these states such as yours would get their heads out of their asses and delay school openings, mandate masks, do everything humanly possible to end this mess. Sharon Stone is livid over losing 2 family members & another fighting to live now. The U.S. has not handled this virus well at all.
I agree w/you, i would rather my child drop out for now than to catch this horrible virus. I have a friend who is a nurse in a hospital here in TN. She says they are full. She’s had like 18 coworkers to catch it. Some are not doing well at all. They have watched patients die alone because family can’t be with them.
I’m just so sick of the survival of the fittest mentality.

OMFG! Giving no options is BLACKMAIL, plain and simple. It’s ALL about the money. That is SICK!

A caring doctor may give her a medical excuse; they can’t override that and penalize her, financially and otherwise.

If your daughter CANNOT BE PERSUADED to take a leave … if she doesn’t linger in classroom, stays distanced, gets washable masks (soap is better than sanitizer), WASHES HER HANDS A LOT, and quarantines when not in class, she can do all that she can to stay safe. I don’t like it AT ALL, and I am not a parent.

Don’t borrow trouble. She isn’t positive, so don’t go worrying about Sophie’s Choice. The stress of worrying will make YOU vulnerable.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

@Tuatha, you make a good point about long term effects for football players. The Big 12 conference probably didn’t think of that when they made decision to continue the season, or care. The thing about football in the South, is that it is a religion all it’s own. All the teams in Oklahoma, Texas and rest of the the teams in the big 12 have been on campuses and testing positive during training camp since the beginning of the summer. It’s what they do and they bring the bucks to the universities. It’s also how many athletes are able to afford college education.

I just got my oldest home last week since she’s online Med school but starting clinical rotations in a couple of months so I’ll have another breakdown then. I just wanted to have my baby girl home so we could all weather the apocalypse together. The news came out over the weekend. I understand being 21 and wanting to finish degree. It’s frustrating that you can’t run their lives when they are young adults. She’s rightfully scared. If the SCHOOL makes the decision to go online or offer a choice, then the financial aid and scholarships will not be taken away. and just FaceTiming her as she was leaving for class made me break down. Like she was going into battle or something. Nothing like those early days of excitement and smile for the camera first day of school from years ago. I also cry for those with kids K-12.

I’ve come to conclusion that school is going to make decision to go online after all the tuition and financial aid checks clear and the time for refund passes. It’s all about the money and they clearly don’t GAF about the human toll. It’s disgusting. These are small college towns that are rural and rely on students for economic reasons also. But the kids could still be there as many have already signed leases and do online. It’s the in-person cramming of bodies on campus in classrooms, lectures, dining halls that is the inevitable shitstorm brewing. So stupid. Testing all that live on campus once in the beginning today. It’s all moot because it is about the money for the university.

I’m sorry I’ll stfu now. I am clearly having a mental breakdown today. Thank you for your prayers and validation. I know many others need prayers as well. I probably just need a good cry.

    xx

IJC I completely get it—the stress of sending them back is astronomical. We paid dorm fees but since 5 classes are remote and the sixth has the option mine is going to stay home. We go back and forth daily on the subject.

But just a few minutes ago k-12in her city just went all remote start so I’m thinking home it is!

Will be thinking of yours and pray she stays well…and fingers crossed they kick them all home soon!

I also mentally out there. Been on evacuation notice last 48 hours due to the River fire. If you look it up none of the info is correct. California has the best wild firefighters but this fire bc it was small it stayed regional then when it blew up this morning, plus the # of homes were in danger, it became priority 1 fire. Air Arsenal was really a show. I’m packed but until u pack and know what you leave might be gone, it is very strange.
California has had lightning strikes for the past 2 nights our high is normally 80/85, it’s been over 100 degrees.
Rolling black outs bc ppl can’t turn their effing air off.
Going to town for food then check to see what I packed. Pray the lines hold tonight until the dozers crews return in the morning.

Praying for you both. Hard, strange and different world we’re living in today.

My daughter is starting community College now (80% remote) but she has had The Hammer of Thor beaten into her about masks, hand washing, distancing and no unnecessary outings beat into her by her momma since March.. I haven’t slept in my home or own bed since March.

The sunrise this morning in AZ was bright red, clearly able to look at it without any protection. I don’t even know what is left to burn in CA or AZ yet it’s burning!

I know some college kids were complaining they are paying full price for things they have no access too at schools only offering online teaching, which I’d be pissed at as well. I’d really like to know how my old major professors have adjusted to not having classes. I was a geology major and between field work and labs, it was a very hands on major. I don’t think the few months they had would put a dent in trying to reconfigure those classes. I know many people like my husband or myself that don’t have the ability to work from home and we’ve been luckily covid free, but then again our work requires safety checks, masks. For me I couldn’t stop life since so much has been taken away and we still have to take care of family. We’re required here to mask up in stores, can eat outside only, but that’s it. I have my sanitizer in my car, in my purse and I had pneumonia in January, I’m not wanting to get sick now, but I won’t let it stop me from living either. That’s how I’m feeling, I not letting this stop me and I’ve know people that have died from it. The forecast of an end to this 2021-24, we got to get a better handle on this. Just my opinion…in the meantime it’s a million degrees here in Norcal and fire season, ugh!

I was so glad when my son’s school district decided to do online learning. They start next week and will be virtual until at least the beginning of October, then will evaluate what the current numbers are in our community. I was nervous about sending my little first grader (!) to school in person, but glad the decision was made for me.

But, I was fuming yesterday morning. Because, stupid Facebook. Multiple members of family thru marriage posted pictures of their kiddos on their first day of school in nearby school districts that were still doing in person school. Which is fine. But all the captions were bragging about awesome their school was for not caving into the Governor’s recommendation to delay in person learning. One person even said “sending my little guina pig off to school in person like normal.” Our school is following what our health department recommends in regards to schools reopening. This shit is so stressful for every parent right now, good luck to all of you out there.

Praying for the USA! I know we are in a bad situation because we don’t have any control and don’t know what to do or believe when it comes to COVID-19. But I believe it is going to be alright! My grandbabies are being homeschooled with so much uncertainty with COVID-19, I’m glad they are safe at home! I have been following the guidelines of wearing a mask, social distancing and staying at home. I very seldom go out because I am in the high risk category. Be safe everyone!
