Since the shocking departure of Mikey and Natasha last week, and the not at all shocking departure of Hayley and David, the “experts” decide to invite two more couples to the experiment. Let’s see if I can bang out some sort of MAFS Australia recap for these two new episodes.
Lizzie & Seb
Apparently. the Aussie version of this show has had other cheaters in the past. Lizzie, who appeared on a previous season of Married at First Sight: Australia, is back for a second chance at finding love after being betrayed by her husband. Although she tried to make it work with her previous groom, Sam, she later found out he was cheating on her with another bride in the experiment. They didn’t even make it to the honeymoon. She was a blond the first time she appeared. She’s much prettier as a brunette this season.
Sebastian, a semi-pro ALF player and personal trainer from Newcastle, NSW, has been single for eight years and has only had one serious relationship. As a sensitive soul and deep thinker, he is really hoping to get to know someone on a deeper level. At nearly six foot six, the experts call him a gentle giant. He’s very fit and seems like a sweetheart.
Lizzie is pretty calm about the wedding, but Seb is super nervous. Lizzie looks amazing in her wedding dress. On the way to the venue, Lizzie does worry that he groom will know her from the previous season. The Aussie version has a much higher floral budget than the US one it seems. The flowers are fantastic! Damn Lizzie tells him in her vows that she married a stranger last year. He was shocked! He says he really like her on the show. On their honeymoon, Seb tries to eliminate Lizzie’s concerns by saying that he could see himself falling in love with her. She tells him she has never been in love.
KC & Drew
KC worked as a dancer in Los Angeles for 10 years before making the decision to move back home to Sydney with the hopes of finding love. Although she enjoyed her Hollywood lifestyle mixing and mingling with A-listers, she is finally home and ready to find someone to settle down with. KC has been cheated on a lot. She’s not really into the pretentious lifestyle in LA.
Drew, a wedding singer with a big heart. He enjoys a simple life and loves his laid-back lifestyle in Cairns, QLD where he runs a mental health charity. Although he receives no shortage of attention from woman, he hasn’t allowed himself to be vulnerable with anyone since his ex called off their engagement four years ago.
KC is a stunning bride. Drew is really good looking. They both have good reactions when they see each other. His vows were very sweet. These two have no problem kissing for photos. There appears to be an instant connection. Hmm, Drew has a female roommate. Red flag. The whole room mate thing seems to have deflated KC. Drew is thirty one and very attractive, so she questions why he is even doing this. How is he still single? He could ask her the same thing! He finally tells her that his fiance broke his heart. KC saw a stuffed toy in his suitcase that his female roommate put in there. She has an issue with this. And she is ruining their date.
