Breaking News: Porsha Williams & Others Arrested In Louisville

Porsha Williams Arrested
Porsha Williams and others were arrested for peacefully protesting in Louisville. She was there protesting the murder of Breonna Taylor by police who went into her house in the middle of then night and shot her and her boyfriend. The police were in the wrong house. Protesters were demonstrating on the lawn of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron’s home, chanting “Say her name! Breonna Taylor!”

Filming has begun for RHOA and tomorrow, the cast will begin filming together. Tamara Tattles exclusive SOURCE has said that this season will have a focus on the foundations of the black family and some social justice themes. Porsha will be heavily featured.

Porsha has a bunch of self-shot footage with Shamea Morton that is expected to make it on the show. They want to shoot from mid-July until the day before Thanksgiving. They are hoping for eighteen episodes.

My power went out in the middle of this story and I don’t know if the IG or Twitter links will show up here or not. Also the guy working in my yard with three five year olds were on the front porch squealing and driving Banjo insane. Did I mention I am trying to do my taxes? I need to stop working and start drinking. It looks like the power outage made this post publish before I was finished. And the IG and Tweet posts are still not publishing properly.

If RHOA actually features some important issues and causes, maybe I’ll be tempted to watch again.

Good on Porsha for matching her words with deeds.

For years, I have been off and on with my feelings about Porsha on Real Housewives. I didn’t like the violence outbursts (really didn’t like her dragging Kenya across the stage), but she was clever and kept it popping and moving..
Now, I have the utmost respect for her and her commitment to social justice.
This news about her STILL PROTESTING and standing up for Breonna Taylor (and that protest footage will be included in the next season) totally fills my cold dead heart with HOPE!
    Go, Porsha, go!!! Wow

I feel like you would understand my Selma the movie story. I hope you’ve seen it.

So, in the past several years, I’ve had a thing about watching as many of the Oscar Best Pic nominees as possible (something I’ve said in my Oscar blogs that TT graciously indulges me in). 2015, I decided to avoid American Sniper and just couldn’t find/fit in Imitation game.

So Selma and Whiplash were my last two, and showing on the last night before the Oscars. Better yet, at one of the local nonprofit independent theaters I love. Decided to make it a double feature. Whiplash wiped me out – seriously captivating film and the one I was rooting for in the end.

Then I found my seat for Selma. When I said small local theater, I MEAN IT. It was in the theater of probably 75 seats. No stadium set up or recliner seats here. My row was literally my aisle seat and one other. An older white woman sat in that seat. We struck up a brief convo before the movie started where she proclaimed herself as a real history buff and was so excited to see this one. I didn’t have time to tell her that I could actually list US History High School teacher on my resume (for one year).

The movie starts, and I INSTANTLY know that this is the 16th Street Baptist, and those sweet girls were about to die. I knew it was coming, but I still jumped and involuntary elbowed the woman. I whispered an apology – something along the lines of “So sorry! I knew it was coming, but still jumped!” She gave me a really puzzled look and started to question, but the dialogue started up again.

The thing about watching a movie among such a small theater filled with people who are SERIOUS about movies is that it is really a group experience. The sound is loud enough that brief whispers aren’t heard or are part of the experience. (Why Phantom Thread is one of my favs? The biker looking dude exclaiming OH SHIT at one of the twists and the rest of us laughing and saying shit like “Right?” and “Unbelievable!” at the same theater)

So the woman and I did whisper one word exclamations in the film. Or just gasped. Everyone was that involved in the film.

Then at one point, after one person had died, she whispered something like I’m so afraid for that young man. I’m sure they are going to murder him. I may need to leave.

I thought she looked like she was close to panic, and I had a hard time remembering who was who in some scenes initially,so I tell her “its ok. That is John Lewis.” Thinking because she was a real history buff she’d instantly feel better.

          She looks at me puzzled.

“Representative John Lewis” I whisper quietly as possible.

          Still puzzled.

The woman in front of me turns. She doesn’t shoot me a nasty look (this is in a part that is loud, but not a lot of specific dialogue) but the woman next to me like “Seriously?” on her face. Then shoots me a look of sympathy that I’m sitting next to such an idiot history buff.

The woman next to me flinches and makes small noises every time John Lewis is threatened and later again tells me he’s next to die.

I finally whispered when there wasn’t a lot of dialogue “Well, considering he’s serving in Congress right now, I don’t think so. Trust me. This IS a movie based on history.”

After the movie – the woman in front of me said “Well, you tried.” as we were leaving. LOL.

Porsha has finally risen to the challenge to carry on her family legacy of activism, and I am very proud to see what she is contributing to the cause. I had no issue dragging her for being dumb, violent, superficial, so I have no problem saying she is awesome for actually using her platform for a good cause, and not just to sell wine, liquor or weaves.

And for those who say she’s doing this for the show, Porsha has been marching and protesting since April, and she continues to protest, and that shows commitment. As if she knew these protests would be ongoing & nationwide, give me a break. She could have just marched in Atlanta, took some pics and gone home. But, no, she’s in another state and getting arrested for peaceful protesting. That’s more than I have done. And if I were her, I would for damn sure want to include the activism for the cameras, she might inspire others to do the same. I do hope they show it this season. And I would bet money that the same folks questioning her motives haven’t marched this year in protest of police brutality and/or systemic racism.

Folks keep waiting for the next civil rights leader to be someone damn near as perfect as Jesus, and Jesus sought out some unsavory characters to do His will. I think motherhood has matured Porsha, and she is definitely setting a good example for her daughter. #TeamPorsha

I just get sick of posting the play by play of Nene every year. She decided to do like LVP every year and threaten not to come back and then come back for more money.I bet LVP isn’t feeling too good about that right now. So I give you guys the play by play and it is always the same thing. She isn’t coming back, she is coming back lather rinse repeat. And then later asshole will post either “YOU SAID SHE ISN’T COMING BACK!” Or “YOU SAID SHE IS COMING BACK” in isolation.

I know a lot of things that are (not happening). Tomorrow will be the first day of cast filming “wits social distancing” for example. Expect Porsha getting arrested will prolly change the whole first couple weeks of filming so who knows.

I’d like to see a spinoff “THE RHOA QUARANTINE TOGETHER FOR 14 DAYS” so they don’t have to social distance while filming!

I get that – I’ve seen you throughout the years posting info from your sources on housewives, and then if things happen change later, folks want to say something about your accuracy. Miss me with that bullshit. As if once you post the tea, the tea can’t change.

You have the best sources in the housewives franchise, other sources steal your tea all the time and don’t credit. And you don’t even have to post the tea you get, you could just recap the shows, and post the “breaking” news like all the other sites when their PR releases it to the masses, and just have us commenting on that mess. Most of these sites are so lazy. We come here because you give us the tea in real time, and we have greater insight when the final sh!t goes down.

It is brave IMO to protest during this pandemic! And think how scary it was to protest 50 years ago. I respect those out there peacefully protesting for social change.

I remember years ago asking my grandmother if she wanted to attend some sort of civil rights event, she was probably in her 70’s at that time, and she “I was raised in Alabama in the 1920’s, I’ve done all the protesting I’m gonna do.” She died at 92, just got tired of living. Did you notice how Nene didn’t put up anything about Naya Rivera until she was DRAGGED about it? She thinks ONLY about herself. ALWAYS. The only time she thinks of others is in terms of what she can get from them. She hasn’t done one positive thing regarding the BLM movement. In fact, I can’t think of A SINGLE POSITIVE thing for others she has ever used her platform for. Just her “store” and her self-glorification.

I hope Porsha realizes what kind of friend Nene is. Worse than Phaedra.

She’s such an unlikeable person, I wouldn’t want her as a friend under any condition. Sometimes, the villain on shows shows a good side, that makes you hope they “turn from the dark side,” but I see no good in her, haven’t since season 1/2. I have one question about the Taylor/walker shootings. Neighbors say the police didn’t announce themselves. Why would they not? Isn’t that Police 101 especially if you’re entering on a no knock warrant? Knowing one of the residents has a legal weapon? How would that benefit them? Please don’t tear my head off, it’s a legit question.

Shortly after midnight on 13 March, Mr Hankison, along with officers Jon Mattingly and Myles Cosgrove, entered Ms Taylor’s apartment by executing a no-knock search warrant – a court document that authorises police to enter a home without permission.

I honestly do not know BeetsWhy, I also wonder if the police had their body cameras on.

There are so many contraditions –

          1. Did they knock?
          2. Was the person they were looking for residing at that address?
          3. Mr. Taylor ( known drug dealer ) was he actually involved with the person the police where after?
4.The 911 call – “I don’t know what is happening,” Walker said. “Somebody kicked in the door and shot my girlfriend.

It is exactly what it sounds like. Typically, law enforcement will knock and announce their presence immediately before entry. They show off the warrant which lists exactly what is permitted to be searched or what evidence law enforcement can search for.

No-knock warrants are usually given for high risk situations where SWAT are involved, but not exclusively. There’s a need for surprise when announcing police presence would lead to evidence being destroyed, if there are reports of someone armed and acting in a dangerous manner, or when someone is a major flight risk (or actively on the run and suspected to be hiding in the place being searched), etc.

If you just need to search a property for some sort of physical evidence that can’t be deleted or destroyed in the blink of an eye, no-knock isn’t necessary, and everyone prefers to avoid it if there isn’t a suspected risk of homicide…it’s really high risk for everyone involved.

I listened to a really informative program on NPR a few weeks ago about the history of no knock warrants. They were initially intended to be carried out by SWAT teams, who have hours of precise training. And now many larger cities are allowing these warrants to to issued and carried out by officers who aren’t properly trained. I couldn’t listen to the entire thing because I had two kids in the car.

Here’s a little more background on this incident: police were looking for a major drug dealer who’s last known address was Breonna’s because he was her boyfriend. They weren’t together anymore but Breonna had a new boyfriend, also a drug dealer. When the police knocked, (and they did not identify themselves as police) the new drug dealer boyfriend responded by getting a handgun and shooting through the door. At which time police returned fire.
Don’t misunderstand me, the police did lots of things wrong including an officer outside on the sidewalk started shooting into the building when the shooting started even though he had no clear line of sight to be shooting at anything. Two rounds even went into a nearby apartment. But here’s the truth in the situation… Breonna chose to be involved with drug dealers, which in itself carries a certain level of risk. And, if they had just answered the door and let the police find out the drug dealer they were looking for wasn’t there, it would have been over in a few minutes and everyone would have walked away without a scratch.
Again, the police have a lot to answer for here. But choices have consequences for everyone.

How exactly could she have chosen to open the door when she was asleep? No matter the boyfriends choice, to defend thier home, with a gun he legally owned, to people he thought were breaking in, how does that make it ok for them to shoot and kill her in her sleep? Those consequences are ok??

Wow. Wasn’t at ALL WHAT I ASKED. And why would they knock when they had a no knock warrant. I’m in no way she deserved to die. Her boyfriend shot first and I don’t believe for one second the police didn’t announce themselves. He needs to be charged in her death as well.

Go ahead, tear my head off for having a different opinion.

I never said it was Ok. I clearly stated that the police made mistakes. My point is that I have never had the police come to my house for any reason. Ever. That lessens my chances of ever having an interaction with them that could result in a bad outcome for me. If someone has a lifestyle that makes it likely that the police will need to interact with you that increases your odds of something bad happening as a result.
Breonna should not have died. But the police weren’t the only ones who made bad choices.

Again, why would three officers not announce themselves? What would they gain by eliminating such basic protocol?

Thanks Lucinda Meyer – Some Media Outlets in Europe reported that she was actually shot 8 times while still in bed asleep so I appreciate the time you have taken to give further background to me as I would still be under the impression she was shot while sleeping in bed.

The police do have a lot to answer for in this case however I also believe people should take responsibilities for their actions.

Breonna should not have died and yes the police weren’t the only ones who made bad choices.

I don’t misunderstand you – you are making excuses for the cops and blaming the victim for her own death.

There is ZERO credible evidence that Kenneth Walker is a drug dealer. NO DRUGS were found in the apartment and he doesn’t have any police record of dealing or using drugs.

They knocked loudly AFTER MIDNIGHT and didn’t announce themselves – you going to go answer the door? I wouldn’t. Oh and they used a BATTERING RAM to knock. Oh, and the ex they were looking for? Hadn’t been her boyfriend for over 2 years, and the Postal Inspector said that the search warrant was false – there was NO indication that he was getting mail there.

Oh, and knowing a drug dealer it isn’t a crime and it doesn’t mean you should be shot and killed by the POLICE.

Thank you! They are talking about choices and consequences but not talking about how she was asleep! How is anything her fault when she’s asleep and they bust in to her home?

That for me is the essential point of the matter which is why I am asking questions to enable my brain to attempt to comprehend.

Breonna was killed on March 13th and what has been done about it?

Selma Hayek brought the case of Vanessa Guillen’s disappearance to a wider audience after she had been missing for 50 days, so if Porsha can bring Breonna’s case to a wider audience from me that’s a win.

Thanks Erica for showing there are 3 sides to a story.

I just want justice for Breonna and whoever put 8 bullets into her should go to prison.

There should have been an arrest by now and that does make me angry that no-one has been charged.

The no-knock warrants should be reviewed

To be absolutely fair, he was brought into custody around the same time around the same time she was killed or a little after (no more than an hour or two).

But that tells me that they should have realized there was serious doubt he was actually at HER address. That a no knock warrant should have NEVER been given. (and I don’t believe that they announced… otherwise, why ask for a no knock in the first place?) Why would a suspected mail drop warrant such a military in a war zone response or a quick to the trigger response?

Why couldn’t this all be earlier when they could knock when she was awake and respectfully ask questions?

Most no-knock warrants from what I know, law enforcement in the family, is to give the police the element of surprise. The hope is it does not give the person they are looking for time to destroy evidence. I asked 4 officers about announcing who they are in as no-knock warrant situation and it was split 2-2 on whether they announce they are police in those situations.

And what were there reasons for and against announcing once they were in?

That’s what I want to know.

Thanks Bucky & jojersey for the explanations.

So the no-knock warrant is open to interpretation depending on the circumstances and legally/morally needs to be reviewed or removed in my opinion.

If I recall correctly—always iffy—you live in Spain. Do you have police issues like ours over there?

In all honesty NO. We have a drug problem here however that was reccently closed down due to a European raid.

The local police have permission to slap around men if they are seen slapping around women, children or the elderly or even if they are drunk and being abusive.

Spanish Police have an extendable baton, they use it on you the backs of your legs and put you on your backside then handcuff you.

They do carry guns however the only time they shoot anyone is if it is linked to a terrorist attack or drug boats pulling up on certain beaches.

They are also very patient due to dealing with drunk tourists and will either get them home or in an ambulance.

During our lockdown they even sang to us and entertained the kids dressed up as dinosaurs.

Spain is very family orientated so if the local police know the family they pop in for coffee and a quiet chat especially with the teenagers.

Spanish prisons are also interesting, you get a cell, a concrete base and a blanket, if you want food then speak to your family.

I was in your neck of the woods a couple years ago, English friends lived in Cadiz and kept a lovely yacht in Marbella. Gorgeous!

In this country the police can lie through their teeth to get a suspect to talk. They can say the other guy told us it was you when that never happened. I think that type of manipulation is not allowed in England, is it also not allowed in Spain?

Unfortunately that type of manipulation does occur in the UK and also in Spain.

In Spain that manipulation happens all the time in regard to stolen Government funds and illegal housing developments, for some reason when you become a Mayor in Spain you believe you have free access to the towns coffers and can employ your family including invisible ones.

UK police are not that different to US police in the major towns.

My local policeman in the UK was a cardboard cut out who was positioned outside the local pub so drivers would slow down their cars as they crossed the T junction.

The joys of Government cutbacks if you lived in a rural community, our local police station was 50 miles away.

This is one of the many reasons we moved to Spain

Okay those awful police officers need to be in jail with no bond. They should spend the rest of their lives behind bars and when they die they will burn in hell for all eternity. The State attorney can kick rocks too and should be arrested for incompetence and have all his possessions sold to reimburse the tax payers for the massive lawsuit that is being built. But why the fuck is Porsha being held without bond? Also look at her booking sheet. Here I’ll email you screen shots TT.

Not too long ago a group was protesting outside the Governor’s mansion (where the Governor and his family live) about the government shut downs. They were knocking on the windows. Then, at the end, someone hung an effigy of the Governor from a tree. No arrests were made then.

And multiple people involved present at the protest outside of the Governor’s mansion were visibly wearing firearms. They were shouting for him to come out and face them. These people stood outside the home of their Governor with weapons and demanded for him to come outside. Imagine looking out your window and seeing people with assault rifles on your lawn taunting you to come outside. Then someone hangs an effigy of you on a tree in your yard. AND, I repeat, no arrests were made during that protest. The differences are absolutely fucking disturbing to me.

That is sick… Of course the armed protesters are not going to be arrested they bring their guns to assert their rights but its easy to pick low hanging fruit like unarmed peaceful protesters.

Actually I will say why those people were charged. Our AG is a pet of Mitch McConnell. He is being groomed to take over Mitch’s seat in the Senate. The Republican party in KY is grooming this guy, and they specifically choose him. I have heard this for several years. They want a conservative black man to take Mitch’s place. And he has been chosen.

This is something that I never thought I’d be saying but I’m proud of Porsha! I don’t know if she’s matured or if she realizes what’s important in life but damn I love this Porsha! I truly hope she is the next civil rights leader. I know she has the platform to do it and of course the passion and drive, but she’s also a mother and I think that will make a huge difference and I think she can bring people together.

I have COMPLETE sympathy for any small business person right now, in the midst of this pandemic. But seriously.. you are a hot dog place. Take out and delivery should be AMAZING for you. Think outside the box! Advertise yourself as a black owned business and how you are doing safe practices to feed the people in quarantine!!!

(One of my favorite places actually put together a “backyard cookout” package of their stuff for the 4th Their burgers, etc. deconstructed. You got everything you needed to make one of their meals on your own grill, including their custom condiments and spices, with instructions!)
