This week’s MDLLA recap should include the arrival of Fredrik Eklund and his family to Los Angeles. I don’t get on Instagram much but when I am feeling a bit down, I got to Fredrik’s IG. He seems very happy with his life in California. His children are so stunningly gorgeous I can’t believe they are real. There is an IG of Fredrik introducing the kids to a new puppy that will cheer you right up! I highly recommend it. But first, let’s see how the MDLLA agents react to Fredrik’s arrival.
Altman & Flagg
The filming of this season is even better than usual. Clearly, they have been able to up the budget to all for all kinds of fancy overhead shoots and other things I lack the knowledge and vocabulary to explain. The shots just seem a lot more high end than in past seasons. Anyway, the two Josh’s are back in La Jolla at the Razor House they co-listed. However, they are taking turns making the long drive to do showings. Altman’s guy is my pick for the buyer. He has the coolest car/truck ever.

These two are throwing a huge broker’s open for the razor house. So they go wine tasting to select the perfect wine. Flagg says he can drink wine out of a box and be just as happy. YES! Black Box wine is highly drinkable. It’s not the 1990s anymore. There are good boxed wines out there. They choose a French rosé by Entourage that is about $22 a bottle. I linked to the site because I might have to order some of that later. Flagg says he is really cheap and he will take car of the catering. Altman is ordering really fancy cars that cost $2,500 each to be parked in the driveway. It’s a black tie event.
Broker’s Open At The Razor’s House
The only person in black tie is Flagg. Because, of course. All the agents are coming down. And I finally know the difference between James and David. David has a beard and James has bigger ears. As the agents make the long drive we learn that James & David have a new listing. The owner informed them that another agent vying for the listing was bad mouthing David. That agent was Tracy who is also going to the broker’s open. Rut-roh.

There are tons of people at the property. It’s not just brokers, there are buyers too. One of the potential buyers was vice president of sales for Gillette. He totally needs a house called the razor house. Then David very politely, and privately expresses his concern about Tracy badmouthing him to clients. Tracy is a bitch. And she is basically saying that she is an agent for less expensive homes and that David didn’t want to drive to Pasadena for a $1.7 million dollar listing like she did. Has Tracy always been this horrible? Why is Altman inserting himself on Tracy’s side.
James & David
On last week’s episode, we were introduced to James & David’s listing on Sunset Square, which is a historical district with strict zoning and building laws. I think it is overpriced at just under three million. I’m not thrilled with lots of the interior design choices. I cannot tell James and David apart. But one of them remembers every person they met last week on the walking path. One agent has a young single musician and this house has a soundproof room that could be a recording studio. She sounds like the perfect buyer.

The guy who owns the house spent more money on reconstructing it than it is worth. And the house is overpriced. They are already doing a price reduction. They better hope that female musician comes in and falls in love with it. But first, there is a couple who wants the house and offers, $2.1 million. That would be a $500,000 loss for the investor. The investor countered at $2.495 million. The house eventually sells for $2.25 million.
SIDENOTE: The cops are circling the hood in the big jeep like vehicles. We never see those in this neighborhood. They are definitely looking to pick up multiple people.
Tracy
Tracy is selling her personal home in Brentwood since her divorce is finalized. She is ready for a change. They bought the house for $13.5 million. It has 11,000 square feet, 7 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. I will never understand the need for 10 bathrooms in any residential home. It just blows my mind. But her house is amazing. Tracy wants to list it a $23,900,000. It’s a great house, but not that great. Her agents try to keep a straight face about the price.
Still no Fredrik…;(
Love the show. Always fast forward with anything to do with Tracy. So officious and annoying. Cant wait for Frederick. Great recap.
Thanks, Evaree. I have major Covid brain and I can’t remember is Tracy was always like this.
Tracy has never been entertaining TV. Everyone is her “friend” when she goes to list or sell something. It is hard to distinguish one Tracy scene from another so I fast forward through them.
Gonna chime in about Tracy. She wasn’t like this in the previous two seasons she was on. Her and the Altman brothers work in the same office and I think Josh must be rubbing off on her. Also explains why he is sticking up for her.
I also have a hard time telling David and James apart, it’s not until I hear James on the phone and saying “hello David” do I know it’s him
I hope Josh Flagg and Fredrik get along because Flagg is my favorite LA Agent and I really like Fredrik and think he is hilarious.
I would love for Flagg and Fredrik to become besties! They are both eccentric characters with hot hubbies. I literally cried when Fredrik announced the birth of those babies. It was a heart wrenching journey for he and Derek. Fred was a dick on his first seasons, especially to my sweet Luis, but both he and Serhant have mellowed and I appreciate their emotional maturity now.
I think marriage & baby(ies) both mellowed Fredrik & Ryan because I do like them both better now.
Josh Flagg has always been my favorite on LA.
Tracy had a really hot husband and they edited their scenes to make it look like she was too busy for the relationship/kids because of her career. I couldn’t believe she was tossing this guy aside but who knows if that was the break-up reason. It’s always been an easy plot line as in with Altman and wife, Heather complaining about his lack of time at home.
Tracy’s kids were on the show (at least one episode) her first season, now she said last night, almost apologetically, that we won’t see them. That’s fine–I watch for the home tours and the wheeling and dealing.
It’s like how everyone doing their shows on Zoom from home now, loves to have their little kids wander in and we have to wade thru the inevitable, “Oh, look who it is! Say hi to the audience…can you say hi?…no, honey, I can’t give you a cookie, right now. We’re on TV(radio) Don’t you want to say hi, to the audience? Awww, I guess she’s tired. Okay, say bye, bye…no, say bye, bye…” Hellooooo Host! You’re on the air! Audience! Over here!
I like the at home versions better than the actual show. Andy bought a Hamptons house to escape Covid and when he doesn’t have an audience or twinks to play shoot the ball into the dick cup games, things have been much better.
I don’t miss the dick cup games but I really miss the energy and laughter of the live audiences on all the shows.
I have also fast forwarded through any Tracy scenes since the first season she was on. Agree that she is plain annoying although she is a shark in female form!
I’ve only watched the NY version, but will definitely watch if Frederick will be on her, I love him!
*there
I know this is OT but Sonja watching the BH rerun is hysterical. She has been shading Ramona so bad. At the end, she got off the bed she was sitting on, said she was so sore from yoga she was walking like Ramona after a night out in Palm Beach. Ha! It was actually entertaining with her and Lu.
Josh Altman reads as really insecure. He then overcompensates by acting like an alpha, including trash talking competitors. Tracy reminds me of women in male dominated fields who decide to be an even bigger a**hole then men in order to climb to the top. Tracy now spending more time with Josh A would seem to bring out these negative qualities in both. In contrast, Josh F and Josh A having more scenes together has been delightful. They play off each other well and Josh A comes across as more likable because of Josh F.
I haven’t watched this show faithfully, but Flagg kills me. Superhero? Barbie. Superpower? Ken. That and falling over in the chair (If he were Fredrik, he would have said “wheee”). I hope he and Fredrik become pals.
I haven’t watched the current season, mostly because, any more, watching Sonia makes me sad.
Tracy and Altman are with the same agency, I think. I don’t like Tracy as a cast member but I don’t think what she’s accused of saying is very bad. They’re salespeople and she’s just saying, I’m the better person to sell this.
I agree, this is a side of Tracy not seen in previous seasons. By far my favorites are the Brits and Josh Flagg…Altman tries too hard comes off like a douche. James and David are extremely likable and I LOVE Flagg. But the worst ever was Madison!
Awwww I miss Madison. 🙁
Me, too ? Altman makes a good foil for a reality show, but I wouldn’t want him as my realtor, buyer or seller, despite his success.
I don’t know what the back story is regarding Tracy’s divorce but she came across as being very spiteful when she made the comment about getting the pool table in divorce since he wanted it. I liked her her first season but that has been decreasing and I don’t like her bad mouthing another agent to a potential client.
Yeah her glee over getting the pool table that you know she has never used was a side to her she should have never shown on air.
A couple seasons ago she mentioned her father’s mansion with the grotto. Always bragging. Not a good look. Her ex-husband and children are incredibly good looking. Her husband also always seemed like a good guy. Just sayin’.
Oh no no no! Tracy is amazing. As a female realtor myself, she is my hero. You guys just don’t know. And what she said is totally appropriate, she was not bad mouthing him. She just pointed out that she showed up for the appointment and he referred it to a colleague. Because he obviously didn’t want to deal with the house. She was hustling! And as a divorced woman, it hit me in the feels when she mentioned the pool table. You go Tracy! Stick it to those men! Honestly, they need more women on the show.
I’m such a Josh Flagg fan!
I cried when he got engaged, I cried when his grandmother died.
I can’t imagine growing up with that kind of wealth. It’s mind blowing to me.
Tamara. The news of the sold Razor House has been known around here for months and in the local as well as the major newspaper here.
Cherlye. MDLLA is not a live show. It is taped months in advance. That is why posting that information is a SPOILER for the show. Thanks and have a nice day.
