RHONY Recap: Love Him And Leave Them

June 11, 2020 by tamaratattles 69 Comments

RHONY RecapThis will be the last RHONY recap for the next two or three weeks as production gets caught up after the shutdown due to the pandemic. Tonight, Tinsley announces that she is moving to Chicago to marry Scott. Perhaps this will shut Dorinda the fuck up.
Ugh. It’s Halloween. I hate Halloween episodes. But first, we must endure a meeting with Luann and Sonja and the cabaret guy. How much longer do you think Luann will being doing cabaret? Will the pandemic kill it? Sonja wants to be paid for her part in the cabaret? Really, Sonja would do anything for free if it got her attention. Apparently, they are interviewing comedians for the show. Some are better than others.

Blood Manor

Tinsley has just returned from a trip to Chicago to be with Scott Kluth and she had a great time. On a Facetime call with Leah, Leah invites her to the Halloween bash that production designated Dorinda the hostess of. Dorinda can’t even be bothered to invite all of the cast members herself. Because she is so damn jealous of Tinsley. So off we all go to Blood Manor. Um, yay?

Dorinda loves all this zombie crap. Zombies were scaring the crap out of everyone, especially Ramona, on the sidewalk. Luann has another event to attend after this, so she comes in costume. Fittingly, she’s a cougar. I hate Luann for looking so damn hot in a skin tight cougar costume. I myself, would need to go as a hippo. Or a wonder whale. Bitch.

RHONY RecapSlurinda Bullies Tinsley

This is just ridiculous. Real life is scary enough. If you like being scared just watch the news, or read Bunker Boy’s Twitter timeline. Thankfully, it doesn’t last long and we are off to a Tequila bar. Tins and Leah head to the ladies room and Dorinda is already make smartass comments about Scott. STFU, Dorinda. Ramona and Luann both seem to keep a keen eye on Tinsley’s Instagram. So they all know she is back with Scott and was just in Chicago. As usual, they are pissed because she didn’t tell them first. Why would she tell them anything?

After Tins and Leah return from the bathroom, they toast to Tins getting back together with Scott. Then Leah blurts out that this is it! They are getting married. At this point, Tinsley doesn’t have the ring yet. But she knows she is moving to Chicago and it is all going to work. Sadly, this is another wedding that has been put on hold due to the pandemic. They want a small wedding. The initial plan was to marry in Japan. But for now, there is no set date and Tinsley doesn’t seem to be stressing about it.

Really, Dorinda?

Anyway, Dorinda who is already shitfaced, says that the news is great, and Tinsley can finally stop living in a hotel. Tinsley loves living in the hotel. Who wouldn’t? It’s fancy and there is room service and a stocked bar, and maid service EVERY DAY!  I’d love to live there. And apparently, so would Dorinda because she seems very jealous. Suddenly, no one is interested in Scott and Tinsley anymore. No one is happy for her and they move on to other topics. Or not. Dorinda, Ramona, Sonja and Ramona all participate in Dorinda talking crap. Dorinda says, “I’ve got a turkey baster, maybe you can try to have a baby. Why Is Dorinda chewing bubble gum?

Next we have a scene with Sonja and her new intern, Lulu meet for an imaginary business deal regarding Sonja’s rebranding of Target overstock. I do not believe any of this is real.

RHONY RecapRamona And Luann Meet Up With Tinsley

Ramona is dragging Dorinda and Sonja to Long Island to visit some sort of warehouse to plan her birthday party. There is some dude there that Ramona thinks is the premier party planner. Thus the long drive. Ramona says she has sixty girlfriends to invite to her party. Even Sonja doesn’t believe this. Dorinda tries to get Ramona to have a joint birthday party with Sonja. But Ramona is too selfish for that. Why are Sonja and Dorinda even there if Ramona doesn’t want their input?  LOL Now Dorinda is saying the same thing. Why is she even there?

Click Here For More RHONY Recaps!

Ramona feels bad for going along with Dorinda’s bullying of Tinsley so she invited her out for drinks. At least that is what Ramona says. I don’t think Ramona has feelings and production insisted on this meetup. The Luann randomly shows up too. Then, Ramona’s date shows up. Because of course she double booked. Tinsley is moving the next day and will miss Luann’s Halloween party. Tinsley says Scott is coverting a room in his very fancy apartment into a closet for Tinsley and remodeling a bathroom to make it her glam room. Really? Who needs a whole room for putting on makeup? I can’t remember the last time I even wore makeup. Maybe Easter of 2019?

Eloise Moves Out Of The Plaza

Tinsley’s mom comes to help her pack and cries because her kid is moving farther away. I wonder if Carole Radziwill will be invited to the wedding. Probably not, since she wants a small destination wedding. Leah stops buy to drink some pink champagne with Tins and Dale. Sonja shows up too! Sonja pronounces Chi Town as Chee Town. Because, Sonja. Dale drunk cries about how “Sonja took Tinsley into her home when she came to town.” #Storyline #GreyGardens Then off goes Tinsley into the sunset with Scott. And RHONY gives her an endcap like they used to do on finales that says she got her proposal in front of a group of Christmas carolers, and her dream ring.

The previews of the rest of the season look even more embarrassing and full of drunk fights that the first half. Um, Yay?

Dorinda is becoming a bitch. She comes across as a crotchety old, unhappy person. Even though she isn’t old. She really looks like a bitter and nasty old lady this season. Not becoming. I’m over her. Be happy for Tinsely. She’s a doll . She found her happily ever after amd Dorinda is just jealous. Also, Sonja and Ramona are kinda of looking just sad. Sad, desperate women. It used to be funny and fun, but anymore. Just sad. They need to be booted.

She’s horrible, horrible, horrible. I understand she’s scared & bitter that Richard died but she acts like she was with him for 20 years instead of less than 10. He’s been gone over 5 years. I can’t think of when I’ve ever heard someone so deliberately cruel to another person especially a “friend”. Dorinda really gets up on her hind legs & judges Tinsley as if she’s Miss Perfect. Dorinda doesn’t have an ounce of class. I think she’s FAR more like John-both have blue collar backgrounds as opposed to sophisticated, erudite intellectual Richard. Her friends keep saying, “Dorinda, why are you with John! You need a Richard!” and I think, no Richard would want her now. She’s an unpredicatable angry alcoholic.

I agree, Dorinda is horrible and it has nothing to do with her mansion flooding. She is very jealous of Tinsley. I couldn’t believe her ultimatum; “I have evidence you went to Niagara Falls with Scott, either you tell the girls or I’m going to tell them.” Dorinda came off as petty and nutty enough to have a person stalked.

I was laughing out loud at Dorinda’s comments at the party planning place. It reminded me of the time that Lisa Vanderpump took someone (was it Lisa Rinna?) to look at a minature horse and spent hours trying to decide whether it was lame and whether to go ahead with the purchase.

I would like to think that Dorinda/Ramona/Sonja/Luann will feel somewhat ashamed of their treatment of Tinsley when they watch this episode, but I don’t have much hope for that. Watching them is like watching middle school mean girls in action. Although, admittedly, Luann is the best of the worst.

I can understand why Tinsley needs a glam room—she probably needs half the room just for her eye makeup products.

On WWHL, Tinsley made it clear that Carole Radziwell has decided that they are not friends, relieving a Tinsley of any obligations concerning her.

Despite her drunken behavior, I find myself becoming more and more fond of Leah. I can only imagine how things go between her and the others once Tinsley is gone.

Unfortunately not if you look at their social media. Dorinda was drunk tweeting the first few minutes of the episode about Tinsley and Sonja left an incoherent comment on Tinsley’s IG post. They are still bitter and jealous, but I’m so happy Tinsley got her happy ending. I will definitely miss her on the show though.

This episode did the opposite of vindicating Dorinda. It confirmed her as mean, petty, and nasty.

She has somehow appointed herself as Relationship Police about Tinsley, but yet Dorinda herself ended her relationship with John off-camera (as she should, imo, but she is faulting Tins for having a relationship matter off-camera) and didn’t tell all the others in person she had broken up, but let them learn online.

Sonia’s meeting with these Century 21 people was apparently a real thing because Sonia by Sonia Morgan has a prominent place on their website. Honestly, I’ve never heard of this store as there are none in TX and I only knew Century 21 as a real estate agent. I honestly thought she actually meant Forever 21 and was miss speaking even though her partnering with Forever 21 would have been insane too. This actually seems to be legit Target Overstock and all….

The first Century was in an area called Bay Ridge in Brooklyn. It was a regular adventure for my family because there was a parking garage across the street and my dad only went to places where he could park easily (not an easy feat in Brooklyn). My parents were so naive, they had me sit on a bench in the shoe section and told me not to move, as they were shopping through this massive department store. One of my earliest memories was trying to find someone who worked there to help me find my parents. They had to announce “will the parents of so and so please come to the security desk” because I thought my parents had abandoned me there. This was in the late 80s and I was 4 or 5. But I love this place, it’s the only way I could afford (other than sample sales) to buy high end clothing at a discount. There’s a few locations now in the boroughs and Long Island. I get my sunglasses there for a fraction of what they cost in the other stores.

The first couple of seasons of VPR were not that bad. But I was never very into it. I didn’t recap and had a variety of recappers for it come and go. Stassi,Jax and the two Toms were the highest paid and despite making close to nothing at for the first two seasons, those two were up to 50K an episode last season. That is like housewives money. So that is a big loss for Stassi. And I honestly think that Stassi and Kristen getting the ax are much more detrimental than if they fired Jax. But that is the opposite of what the suits think. They think Jax going would end the show. I kind of think Bravo needs to come up with new ideas and can the whole shit show.

One funny thing I have noticed this season is the way Sonja is eating in every episode. She is just noshing and relishing every bite while the others bicker. She seems to really pack it in when someone else is paying. She seems to have eternal money problems so might only eat saltines and tomato soup at home.
It also seemed the guy at the party place was put off by Sonja, Dorinda and Ramona eating his decorations. And they packed some to take home!

I don’t care about Luanne’s cabaret nor Sonja’s clothing line so fast forwardes those scenes.

I look forward to learning more about Leah. I lover her unconventional family and her apartment in the Financial District is nice.

Anejo, the tequila bar & restaurant is from Top Chef alim Angelo Sosa. The food and drinks are PHENOMENAL; what you’d expect from a Top Chef contestant. Even better, the service was fantastic as the staff always treated me like family. I discovered it right before the pandemic and looked for every excuse to go there. I remember it fondly as the last restaurant I dined in before NYC went into lockdown.

Yet I recently watched a Bravo tour of her apartment and it did not seem that much bigger. I guess New Yorkers really learn to think in terms of square inches when it comes to outdoing each other.

I hate it to when they say “You forgot to cheers with me”. or some shit like that? They forgot the word “toast”, everyone seems to have forgotten it. “I want to do a cheers!” ugggghhh
Tinsley was big in the NY scene for such a long time portrayed as the spoiled rich girl with the perfect life. When she came on the show I expected an entitled spoiled brat. I was pleasantly surprised at how humble and sweet she was (even though she was a bit spoiled) and had real problems and was sensitive. I loved her little girl dresses, she was a breath of fresh air, esp compared to Ramona and Dorinda. I hope she gets the life she wants, and she needs her own make up room because she will not be the one doing her make-up from now on! She will need room for another person to fluff her up!
Century 21 is a big store chain in NYC, though I thought they catered to younger people. I remember one of them was destroyed in 9/11, it was across the street from the twin towers. They rebuilt.

Century 21 is a store like Saks and Neiman’s outlets for the most part. High end designer stuff mixed in with lots of other crap. It’s a tourist mecca. If you have a good eye and knowledge of designer clothing (like my sister) you can get good deals.

I am happy that Tinsley is on her way to happily ever after. Scott’s proposal was filmed as I saw it, I thnk on Tinsley’s IG. She was so genuinely thrilled. I loved it. She deserves it. The nicest person on RHNY, who doesn’t seem to have a mean bone in her body.

Someone posted that Dorinda has always been mean. I think she’s right. At first, we only saw the OTT meanness when she was drunk. Now she always makes me cringe. She was drunk posting on twitter and IG despite the fact that I only saw one post that didn’t drag her. She seems oblivious to the criticism and unwilling to look in the mirror. Her obsession with attacking Tinsely can only be based on jealousy and a deep unhappiness. Tinsley has what Dorinda wants — youth, beauty, money and someone who seems to adore her. Dorinda just radiates with jealosy.

I have a hard time caring about Ramona, Sonja and LuAnn. Same shit, different season.

The new girl — not sure. Don’t like her when she’s drunk.

Did anyone else notice the black top Sonja was wearing at the Halloween thing with the sheer sleeves? Its on her website for $77 and some change but then I found it on Amazon (you can tell its the same model, too) by a different brand (Floerns) for $20!

Sonja doesn’t HAVE a clothing line. She buys overstock from Target and other chain stores and I guess relabels them with her tags. And then sells them online and to apparently, retail stores now.

Isn’t that also what Ramona does for a living? I remember seeing her sitting at her desk talking to some men about their overstock clothes.

I’ll miss Tinsley–the most genuinely nice and likeable one on RHONY. Sonja is good-hearted too, but her constant air of wanting the past makes me sad.

Dorinda was just so over-the-top mean about Tinsley’s good news. Trying to be insulting about the hotel (but there’s really no insult there), instantly wanting to change the subject instead of giving Tinsley any congratulations or good wishes, and then her despicable comment about the turkey baster–she is nasty!

And at the party planner’s, when Dorinda told Ramona she should make it a joint celebration of Sonja’s birthday, that was just mean too, because it made Ramona reject Sonja right to Sonja’s face, as Dorinda thought it would. Nasty! In her talking head, Dorinda said she was giving Ramona an opportunity to be nice. Liar! You were setting up a painful moment for Sonja.

My favorite moment was seeing Tinsley’s two dogs in their red puffy coats. Leah is smart, a bit reckless, interesting. Would like to see her sister or another of her peers join the show. Ramona is not a girl’s girl no matter how often she says her (60) friends are friends. For her to totally ignore Tinsley when Leah made the announcement was childish and petty. When will you start thinking for yourself Ramona, instead of taking cues from Dorinda? I can understand that the group could think that Tinsley and Scott are a broken record but you can still be gracious. Doesn’t cost you anything except when you’re not. Jealous Dorinda, you have earned all the criticism levied at you. Why does Tinsley owe you or us the very private aspects of her life? Being on a reality show doesn’t mean that we expect you to tell us everything. Elyse has some potential, she has an opinion. But she doesn’t exude energy for her presence to be felt. No Blood Manor for me, don’t like my personal space invaded.

Not one person at the table (Leah already knew) said “best wishes” or offered to have a farewell party or bridal shower for Tinsley … Not even a Bravo-sponsored party.

All except Leah want one thing above all else that Tinsley has and money can’t buy — youth. Youth with her whole life ahead of her to begin living her dream. Those overgrown children spend their time TRYING to be young by changing their faces instead of making new dreams. At least LuAnn started her cabaret. She isn’t living entirely in the past like the others.

The others spend their energy wishing they had chosen another mate, or that theirs hadn’t died (how DARE he leave me). Pity their daughters when they get married — every one of them (maybe not LuAnn) will try to live vicariously and run their lives. Maybe I should say pity the future sons-in-law.

One more thing: Lu Ann should have done more research on her cougar costume. Only baby cougars have spots. (She should have consulted Sandoval. That would be a perfect business for him if VPR tanks, own a really good costume shop.)
